  • In wartime conditions, the communication system of military aircraft is exposed to jamming, and it is necessary to mount communication equipment with high anti-jamming performance in order to perform air operations smoothly even in an environment where jamming attempts are made. In this paper, we check in detail the jamming and anti-jamming technology that can be applied to wireless communication, and the data disclosed on the difference in specifications of the next-generation anti-jamming radio with frequency hopping method and the improvement of anti-jamming performance according to these changes. It was briefly analyzed within the scope. In addition, the points to be considered when designing a new domestic aircraft and the possibility of installing the next-generation anti-jamming communication equipment on the currently operating aircraft were confirmed, and the tactical usefulness of improving the anti-jamming capability of the next-generation anti-jamming communication equipment was confirmed.

무인항공기(드론) 사고의 법적책임 연구

  • 조종사가 탑승하지 않고도 지정된 임무를 수행할 수 있도록 제작된 무인항공기(드론)가 다양한 장비(광학, 적외선, 레이더 센서 등)를 탑재하여 활용되고 있다. 지금까지는 국가안보 유지 수단으로서 감시 정찰 정밀공격무기의 유도 등의 임무를 수행하여 왔다. 최근에는 민간부문에서도 다양한 용도로 활용되고 있어서 정부(국토교통부 산업통상자원부)는 무인항공기의 국내경제발전의 파급효과를 인지하고, 세계 무인항공기시장에서 우선순위를 선점하기 위해 투자확대를 기해 왔다. 무인항공기시장이 산업발전과 고용촉진에 도움이 되어 국내경제에 긍정적인 효과가 많다고 하더라도 무인항공기의 안전운행을 담보할 다양한 법적 제도적인 장치의 마련이 필요하다. 따라서 무인항공기로 야기되는 다양한 유형의 사고를 검토하여 이에 대한 법적 책임에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 무인항공기의 사고는 운영자의 운영상의 과실로 인한 사고도 있고 무인항공기 자체의 결함으로 인한 사고도 발생할 수 있다. 또한 운행자의 고의과실로 인한 타인의 권리(프라이버시권 등)를 침해하는 경우나 무인항공기끼리의 충돌사고도 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 사고로 인한 책임은 민사책임으로서 대부분 지상 제3자에 대한 생명 신체 또는 재산상의 손해배상책임이다. 이러한 책임을 규율하는 국제협약으로 로마협약이 있지만 체약국이 없기 때문에 국제협약으로서의 역할을 못하고 있다. 따라서 현재로서는 각국의 국내법에 의하여 해결될 가능성이 많을 것으로 생각된다. 무인항공기 운영자의 과실로 인한 사고는 민법이나 상법이 적용될 수 있고, 무인항공기의 제작결함으로 인해 사고가 발생하였을 경우와 시스템의 오작동으로 인해 사고가 발생하였다면 제조물 책임을 물어야 할 경우도 있을 수 있다. 이러한 법적 쟁점에 대한 검토를 통하여 무인항공기 공급과 활용의 확대로 인한 다양한 사고발생과 책임범위를 명확히 하여 사고당사자들의 책임관계를 인식시키는 것이 필요하다.

Heat Dissipation Design for KW Class Power Control Unit Mounted on Aircraft Store (항공기 장착물에 탑재되는 KW급 전력변환장치의 방열설계)

  • When a KW-class power control unit is installed in an aircraft installation, a heat dissipation design for a large amount of heat generated during power conversion should be considered. Failure to provide adequate heat dissipation can lead to equipment malfunction and fire, which can be a fatal factor in aviation operations. This paper describes the heat dissipation design of a KW-class power control unit installed in aircraft installation. The design and manufacturing test were conducted through computerized analysis, and the analysis model was corrected by confirming the rapid heat generation phenomenon of the heating element due to high power control. After the model revision, the design was improved, and the high-temperature operation test of the US military standard MIL-STD-810G was performed to confirm the feasibility of the improved design.

  • Recently personal income level is rising. So, many people use the leisure lightweight aircraft and the population which enjoys a leisure is increasing. But as the leisure lightweight aircraft compares in the civil aircraft and the military aircraft, and it has a low price. So the equipment which it is loaded in the lightweight aircraft is not equipped. In this paper, we develop the air navigation for lightweight aircraft using the smart phone(iPhone, Android phone, Window mobile, BADA phone etc.) and the smart pad(iPad, Galaxy Tab etc.).

Failure Analysis of Aircraft Software Test Cases from a Perspective of Requirements Traceability (요구사항 추적성 관점에서 항공기 탑재 소프트웨어 시험 사례 실패 분석)

  • As the proportion and complexity of software embedded in aircraft increase, risk factors such as mission failure, function failure and performance failure due to software errors also increase. In the mission-critical software systems such as aircraft software, managing requirement traceability is essential to maintain the software systems with minimal period and cost. However, the development company is not accurately complying with the guideline for managing requirement traceability due to various reasons such as development cost and schedule. Therefore, it is not easy to systematically establish and maintain requirement traceability. In the paper, we analyze actual test cases of aviation software systems from the viewpoint of requirements traceability in order to learn if there are failure cases of test cases due to the absence of systematic traceability management activities. We also check the risks associated with the failure cases according to the type and severity of the cases. As a result of analyzing a total of 7 aircraft-mounted software, failure cases could be divided into three types: omission of requirements, lack of connection between requirements and test procedures, and omission of test procedures. There were a total of 18 failure cases, 6 for each type. The numbers of high, middle and low risks were 1, 13 and 4, respectively, where the number of middle risks is largest.

  • Alignment tolerance for EO/IR airborne camera using common optic is an important factor in stabilization accuracy and geo-pointing accuracy. Before airborne camera is mounted on the aircraft, defining alignment tolerance and verification of it is essential in production as well as research and development. In this paper we establish basic concept on the definition and elements of alignment tolerance for airborne camera and propose how to measure each of those elements. Components and the measurement sequence of alignment tolerance are as follows: 1) tolerance of alignment between EO and IR LOS. 2) tolerance of sensor alignment. 3) tolerance of position reporting accuracy. 4) tolerance of mount alignment
