Assessment Model for Project Management Information System Based on User Satisfaction and Importance (사용자 만족도 및 중요도를 고려한 건설 정보화 시스템 평가모형 개발)

  • Using PMIS(Project Management Information System) plays an important role in systematically planning and effectively managing the complex and large-sized construction projects. In spite of the importance of PMIS, on-site engineers, who are the main users of PMIS, have not used PMIS enthusiastically because PMIS has been evaluated and improved by not the viewpoint of the system users but the viewpoint of system managers and head office manager. Therefore, this study developed an assessment model to evaluate PMIS with the viewpoint of the on-site engineers, so previously developed PMIS can be evaluated by the on-site engineers with importance and satisfaction elements. It is anticipated that the effective use of the developed assessment model might increase the utilization of existing PMIS as well as develop the construction industry.

Narrative Frames and Interpretive Communities: Frame Competition over the Resumption of W.O.C. Controversy and Journalistic Discourse of Interpretive Community (내러티브 프레임과 해석 공동체: '전작권 환수 논란'의 프레임 경쟁과 해석 집단의 저널리즘 담론)

  • This research analyzed the news coverage of controversy over Korean resumption of Wartime Operational Control from the United States in 2006, trying to find various narrative frames and their relevance to the characters of journalistic interpretive communities. Three competitive frames emerged: Self-national defense and peace making, Balance of self-national defense and the Korea-US alliance, and Priority of the Korea-U.S. alliance and national security. Journalistic discourses were also analyzed through the in-depth interviews of 14 journalists from three interpretive communities. The results revealed that competitions of narrative frames reflected the tensed relationship among political power blocs, each representing the liberal, moderate, or conservative camp of Korean society, and preference of journalistic practices such as objective journalism to advocacy journalism. Finally, inferences were made that the clashes among interpretive authorities, existing behind the competition of news frames, restrained public deliberations on a critical incident regarding national security by blocking up the reasoned news coverage of political controversy.

Analysis of Relative Combat Power with Expert System (전문가 시스템을 이용한 상대적 전투력 분석)

  • This paper's aim is to suggest the Expert System for analyzing relative combat power in ground operations. Since relative combat power analysis in terms of comparing combat power of friendly forces with one of the enemy can determine how the commander and staffs operate their unit afterwards, it requires fast and rational decision-making process. However, it has relied on manual method so far though Tactical Information Communications Network(TICN) into which numbers of applications can be loaded has been developed over a decade. 3 methods for analyzing relative combat power were expressed as mathematic rules to be used knowledge in the expert system after reviewing previous studies, and it studied how intangible power as well as tangible were reflected on total combat power. The expert system that will be built using EXSYS Corvid tool is expected to lessen error rate, provide faster decision-making, and reflect both intangible combat power and tangible one by using an appropriate weights in analyzing relative combat power. Next research filed includes how to build expert systems related with military personnel and intelligence areas for fast and rational decision-making processes.

  • The Korea high speed train was launched from Seoul to Busan of 1st construction phase at 1st April, 2004. This huge project will be lead to a great change in korean society such as existing mode choice behavior change and the concentrating on KTX station zone lifestyle pattern's change. With the result to opening high speed train railway was diminished train journey time between Seoul to Busan from 4 hours 10 minute to 2 hours 40 minutes, and has been change population movement, favorite location of corporation headquarters, existing metropolitan transportation pattern and so on. In the middle of this study, I choose to analyse Seoul-Cheonan/Asan stations, Seoul-Deajeon stations, Seoul-Deagu stations, Seoul-Pusan stations. This study have a information to analyse among as like movement of population, status of employee structure, usage of land, movement inland transportation mode. I sure that this study will lead to helpful prediction both 2nd phase of Kyoung-bu high-speed railway and Ho-nam high-speed railway in advance.

Effect of Estimation for Time of Concentration on the Design Flood (홍수도달시간 산정방법이 설계홍수량에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, that the Kraven(II) empirical formula, the existing method to estimate the time of concentration in river basin, does not reflect the characteristics of relevant basin as it presents 3 stream velocities by section of slope was verified, and the time of concentration for the actual average stream velocity considering the characteristics of the basin was compared and analyzed by applying the continuous Kraven empirical formula, which was suggested recently by 'Design Flood Estimation Guide Line, 2012, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs' complementing the stream velocities for the easy slope and the steep slope, to the Donghwa-Cheon, the medium size river and the modality of changes in hydrograph was examined, For the Maeho-Cheon, Wuksu-Cheon and Geumpo-Cheon, the flood runoff simulation results according to the time of concentration application empirical formula considering the characteristics of relevant basin were compared and analyzed and following conclusions were able to obtain.

  • Though the productivity increased by 50% as KBCT was the first to use ATC System in Korea, productivity is unlikely to be improved any longer because of unsatisfactory detailed automation technology development. Accordingly, the government embarked on 'high efficiency ATC technology development', but it is important to avoid overlapping with other advanced technology which is already developed, and to develop differentiated technology which has the way about it. To accomplish this, this paper suggested in-depth analysis about established domestic and overseas technologies, clear goal setting to achieve world-class level productivity, and rational development road map for success in technology development. Through this, as to the ATC automatization technology development, the ports of our country precedes in a competition with the ports of the neighboring country, and it will jump to the Northeast Asia Logistics-Hub-port and a role as growth engine for next-generation in our country will be played. In addition, the result of the technology development will become the standard of the performance evaluation of the relative technique of the domestic automated terminal, and will be leads the world in this field of technology.

  • Big Data is now seen as a major asset in the company's competitiveness, its influence in the future is expected to grow. Companies that recognize the importance are already actively engaged with Big Data in product development and marketing, which are increasingly applied across sectors of society, including politics, sports. However, lack of knowledge of the system implementation and high costs are still a big obstacles to the introduction of Big Data and systems. It is an objective in this study to build a Big Data system, which is based on open source Hadoop and Hive among Big Data systems, utilizing POS sales data of small and medium-sized offline markets. This approach of convergence is expected to improve existing sales systems that have been simply focusing on profit and loss analysis. It will also be able to use it as the basis for the decisions of the executive to enable prediction of the consumption patterns of customer preference and demand in advance.

Estimating Method of Surface Roughness Using Geographic Information (지리정보를 이용한 지표면조도 산정 방법)

  • Rapid urban expansion and densification of the various industrial facilities affect the changes of topography and building in urban areas. Even if buildings proceed with high rise, they get mixed with low-rise buildings such as houses and industrial parks that have existed in the area. This may confuse the designer in estimating a surface roughness, an important factor in calculating the design wind velocity of building. This study analyzed the surface roughness by using a geographic information. Referring to the criteria of each country's building code, this study proposed a method to distinguish the surface roughness depending on the height of the surrounding buildings where the design building is located and calculated the surface roughness using 1:5000 topographic map and GIS. It is expected to solve problems that an existing designer calculates the surface roughness in a subjective manner and to help to design more rational buildings resistant to wind.

  • Recently, as various metro lines have been constructed and connected to other lines the rate of utilization has also been increased. However, the existing fare policy which the government does still stick to causes not only inappropriate action to the demand pattern but aggravation of the profit of the operation company. This study reviewed rail fare policy of major countries such as Japan and U.K etc. to improve the rationality of fare policy in Korea. In order to systematical analysis of fare policy, such viewpoints as of fare decision method, the card fare discounting system, the structure of fare, and the government subsidy policy were reviewed. Based on the results from the review, various problems and improvement plans were drawn. Through this study, appropriate fare systems to urban railway users could be given to improve the chronic deficit problem of urban railway operators.

Landform and Environment in Border Region of N. Korea and China (북중 접경 지역의 지형과 환경)

  • This study is to suggest landform and environmental problems of border region of N. Korea and China by analyzing results of field work for the Dumangang and the Amnokgang from year 2000 up to year 2016. By the social system in North korea, access of study material is possible with satellite image and published statistical data, but impossible direct data collection. We gathered field work data on landform and environment in border Region of N. Korea and China. Before field survey, we analysed geometrical landform and geology using DEM and digital geology map. We analyzed landform and environmental problems occurring in upper, midstream, and downstream region of the Dumangang and the Amnokgang using field work data. Resultingly, this study will be expected to support as basic data for resonable management on natural resources and empirical research activities on North Korea.
