  • 환경 규제 및 배출가스 규제에 의하여 차량 경량화를 위해 점차적으로 Al합금의 차체 및 부품적용 비율이 점차 확대되고 있다. 이에 따라 알루미늄의 레이저 용접 시 출력, 초점거리, 용접 속도 등 공정 변수의 상관관계와 용접 결함 현상에 의한 관심이 집중된 연구가 많이 발표되었으며, 알루미늄 5000계열의 경우 박판 용접 시 기공, 균열 등 과 같은 결함 현상을 방지하기 위하여, Twin spot laser, Laser-TIG hybrid 등과 같은 공법 적용을 제안되었다. 본 연구에서는 Yb:YAG laser welding 시 Mg 함량이 높은 AA5J32을 소재를 이용하여 박판 겹치기 용접 시 Back side spiking 결함 방지를 위한 레이저 빔 출력 파형을 설계하여 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 파형의 특성에 따라 나타나는 겹치기 용접부의 기계적 특성과 기공에 대해 알아 보고자 하였다.

Study on the effect of soldering methods on the characteristics of the Ni-Cr alloy (납착 방법이 치과용 금속의 성상(性狀)에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare Ni-Cr alloy property of gas-oxygen torch soldering and infrared welding using optical microscope and Electron Probe Micro Analyzer (EPMA). Materials and methods: Ni-Cr alloys were casted for specimens. Specimens had 3.0 mm diameter, 30.0 mm length and were divided into two groups. Each group had 4 specimens. One group was for gas-oxygen torch soldering and the other was infrared welding. Specimens were cut with low-speed disc and soldered each other with gas-oxygen torch and infrared machine. After soldering and polishing, specimens were observed at 3 points (soldering point, 5 mm distance point, 10 mm distance point) with optical microscope and analyzed 3 points (soldering point, 5 mm distance point, 10 mm distance point with EPMA. Results: The results of this study were as follows: 1. The observation of gas-oxygen torch soldering at 10 mm distance point under the optical microscope was not founded any specific surface properties, but some crack lines were observed at 5 mm distance and soldering point. 2. There were no crack lines were founded at the observation of infrared welding at 10 mm distance and 5 mm distance points under the optical microscope. However, at the 5 mm distance, the surface was not smooth enough compared with at 10 mm distance point. Some crack lines were observed at the welding point as well. 3. In the EPMA analysis of the gas-oxygen torch soldering, the component of Ni was increased by 4.5%, Cr was increased by 7.5% than that of the Ni-Cr alloy at the 10.0 mm distance. At the 5 mm distance, the component of Ni was decreased by 6.1%, Mo was increased by 9.0% than that of the Ni-Cr alloy but Cr was equally shown at the 5.0 mm distance. Only Ni was shown at the soldering point. 4. In the EPMA analysis of the infrared welding, the component of Ni was increased by 9.1%, Cr was increased by 0.4% than that of the Ni-Cr alloy but Al was equal at the 10.0 mm distance. At the 5 mm distance, the component of Ni was increased by 4.7%, Cr was increased by 4.7% and Al was increased by 0.1% than that of the Ni-Cr alloy. At the welding point, the component of Ni was increased by 8.8%, Cr was increased by 8.2% than that of the Ni-Cr alloy. Conclusion: From these results, at the 5 mm distance from the soldering point, the surface of the infrared welding was more smoother than that of the gas-oxygen torch soldering. On the EPMA analysis, the component of the specimens with infrared welding was more similar than that of the gas-oxygen torch soldering compared with the component of the Ni-Cr alloy.

Influence of thickness ratio and substrate bias voltage on mechanical properties of AlCrN/AlCrSiN double-layer coating (두께 비율과 기판 바이어스 전압이 AlCrN/AlCrSiN 이중층 코팅의 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • AlCrN 코팅은 높은 경도, 낮은 표면 조도 등의 상온에서의 우수한 기계적 특성 이외에 고온에서 안정한 합금상의 형성으로 인하여 우수한 내열성을 보이는 코팅이며, Si을 첨가하여 나노복합구조를 갖는 AlCrSiN 코팅은 고경도 특성을 나타내는 나노결정립과 고내열성을 나타내는 $Si_3N_4$ 비정질이 동시에 존재함으로써 뛰어난 고온 특성까지 보유하여 공구 코팅으로의 적용 가능성이 크다. 본 연구에서는, 가혹화된 공구사용 환경 대응 하는 더욱 우수한 내마모성 및 내열성을 보이는 코팅막을 개발하기 위해 AlCrN/AlCrSiN 이중층 코팅을 합성하였다. 합성된 코팅의 구조 및 물성을 분석하기 위해 field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), nano-indentation, atomic force microscopy(AFM) 및 ball-on-disk wear tester를 사용하였다. 내열성을 확인하기 위하여 코팅을 furnace에 넣어 500, 600, 700, 800, 900도에서 30분 동안 annealing한 후에 nano-indentation을 사용하여 경도를 측정을 하였다. 5:5, 7:3, 9:1의 두께 비율로 AlCrN/AlCrSiN 이중층 코팅을 합성하였으며 모든 코팅의 두께는 $3{\mu}m$로 제어되었다. AlCrN 코팅층의 두께가 증가할수록, 이중층 코팅의 경도 및 내마모성은 점차 향상되었지만 코팅의 밀착력은 감소하였다. 일반적으로 AlCrN 코팅은 상대적으로 높은 잔류응력을 갖고 있으므로, AlCrN 층의 두께비율이 증가함에 따라 코팅내의 잔류응력이 높아져 코팅의 경도는 증가하고 밀착특성은 낮아진 것으로 판단된다. AlCrSiN 상부층 공정시 기판 바이어스 전압을 -50 ~ -200V 로 증가시키면서 이중층 코팅을 합성하였다. XRD 분석 결과, 공정 바이어스 전압이 증가함에 따라 AlCrSiN 상부층은 점차 비정질화 되었고, 코팅의 경도와 표면 특성이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 특성 향상은 높은 바이어스 인가가 이온 충돌효과의 증가를 야기시켰으, 이로 인해 치밀한 코팅층 합성에 의한 결과로 판단된다. AlCrN/AlCrSiN 이중층 코팅을 어닐링 한 후 경도 분석 결과, -150, -200V에서 합성한 코팅은 900도 이상에서 26GPa 이상의 높은 경도를 보인 것으로 보아 우수한 내열성을 갖는 것으로 확인 되었다. 이는 AlCrSiN 상부층의 높은 Si 함량 (11at.%) 으로 인한 충분한 $Si_3N_4$ 비정질상의 형성과, 고바이어스 인가로 인한 AlCrN 결정상과 $Si_3N_4$ 비정질상의 고른 분배가 코팅의 내열성을 향상시키는데 기여를 한 결과로 판단된다.

Experimental Study of The Corrosion Protection Performance of The Metal Spraying Process in accordance with ratio of Zn-Al (Zn-Al의 구성비율에 따른 금속용사 공법의 방식성능에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • This study is an experimental study on the corrosion protection performance according to the configuration ratio of the Zn and Al. A metal spraying was used as the arc metal spraying method, a specimen was produced by varying the proportion ratio and coating thickness of the Zn and Al. Experimental methods visually observed to corrosion of the specimen for 1, 3, 7, 15 days was conducted in accordance with the CASS salt spray test. This study has confirmed that the performance of the corrosion protection improved against the increase in the Al content. Further, it was confirmed that excellent perfomance is exhibited when the coating thickness is secured over $80{\mu}m$. In addition, the SEM analysis was performed to observe the cross-sectional shape of the metal spraying specimen after CASS testing. The analysis result showed that the deterioration of the metal spraying coating layer was reduced as the Al content increases.

The study on the scattering ratio at the edge of the block according to the increasing block thickness in electron therapy (전자선 치료 시 차폐블록 두께 변화에 따른 블록 주변 선량에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose is to clarify the effect of additional scattering ratio on the edge of the block according to the increasing block thickness with low melting point lead alloy and pure lead in electron beam therapy. Methods and materials: $10{\times}10cm^2$ Shielding blocks made of low melting point lead alloy and pure lead were fabricated to shield mold frame half of applicator. Block thickness was 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 (mm) for each material. The common irradiation conditions were set at 6 MeV energy, 300 MU / Min dose rate, gantry angle of $0^{\circ}$, and dose of 100 MU. The relative scattering ratio with increasing block thickness was measured with a parallel plate type ion chamber(Exradin P11) and phantom(RW3) by varying the position of the shielding block(cone and on the phantom), the position of the measuring point(surface ans depth of $D_{max}$), and the block material(lead alloy and pure lead). Results : When (depth of measurement / block position / block material) was (surface / applicator / pure lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 15.33 nC(+0.33 %), 15.28 nC(0 %), 15.08 nC(-1.31 %), 15.05 nC(-1.51 %), 15.07 nC(-1.37 %) as the block thickness increased in order of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 (mm) respectively. When it was (surface / applicator / alloy lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 15.19 nC(-0.59 %), 15.25 nC(-0.20 %), 15.15 nC(-0.85 %), 14.96 nC(-2.09 %), 15.15 nC(-0.85 %) respectively. When it was (surface / phantom / pure lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 15.62 nC(+2.23 %), 15.59 nC(+2.03 %), 15.53 nC(+1.67 %), 15.48 nC(+1.31 %), 15.34 nC(+0.39 %) respectively. When it was (surface / phantom / alloy lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 15.56 nC(+1.83 %), 15.55 nC(+1.77 %), 15.51 nC(+1.51 %), 15.42 nC(+0.92 %), 15.39 nC(+0.72 %) respectively. When it was (depth of $D_{max}$ / applicator / pure lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 16.70 nC(-10.87 %), 16.84 nC(-10.12 %), 16.72 nC(-10.78 %), 16.88 nC(-9.93 %), 16.90 nC(-9.82 %) respectively. When it was (depth of $D_{max}$ / applicator / alloy lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 16.83 nC(-10.19 %), 17.12 nC(-8.64 %), 16.89 nC(-9.87 %), 16.77 nC(-10.51 %), 16.52 nC(-11.85 %) respectively. When it was (depth of $D_{max}$ / phantom / pure lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 17.41 nC(-7.10 %), 17.45 nC(-6.88 %), 17.34 nC(-7.47 %), 17.42 nC(-7.04 %), 17.25 nC(-7.95 %) respectively. When it was (depth of $D_{max}$ / phantom / alloy lead), the relative value(scattering ratio) was 17.45 nC(-6.88 %), 17.44 nC(-6.94 %), 17.47 nC(-6.78 %), 17.43 nC(-6.99 %), 17.35 nC(-7.42 %) respectively. Conclusions: When performing electron therapy using a shielding block, the block position should be inserted applicator rather than the patient's body surface. The block thickness should be made to the minimum appropriate shielding thickness of each corresponding using energy. Also it is useful that the treatment should be performed considering the influence of scattering dose varying with distance from the edge of block.

Magenetic Properties of Nd-Fe-B-Co-based Melt-spun Ribbons an dTheir Bonded Magents (Nd-Fe-B-Co계 급냉리본과 Bond 자석의 자기적 성질)

  • Abstract Co-and/or AI-added Nd-Fe-B-based magnetic alloys were fabricated by using vacuum induction melting frunace, and melt-spun ribbons were made of the magnetic alloys with single roll rapid quenching method. The variation of magnetic properties of the melt-spun ribbons as a function of Cuwheel velocity (Vs) were investigated. Bonded magnets were made of the optimally quenched ribbon fragments, and the magnetic properties of the melt-spun ribbons and the bonded magnets were studied, relating to the microstructure and crystalline structure. Cu-wheel surface velocity had a strong effect on the magnetic properties of the melt-spun ribbons, and the maximum properties were obtained around Vs =20m/sec. The optimally quenched ribbon had a cellura-type microstructure, in which fine N$d_2$F$e_14$B grains were surrounded by thin Nd-rich phase. In case of a 2.1at% AI-added melt-spun ribbon, the magnetic properties were as follows: iHc, Br, and (BH)max were 15.5KOe, 7.8KG and 8.5MGOe respectively. And resin bonded magnets were fabricated by mixing optimally quenched ribbon fragments with 2.5wt % polyamide resin, compacting and binding at room temperature. The iHc, Br and (BH)max of bonded magnet were lO.2KOe, 4.4KG and 3.3MGOe respectively. And hot-pressed magnets were made by pressing the overquenched ribbons at high temperature. The magnetic properties of hot-pressed magnets were better than those of bonded magnets, and when the holding time was 8 minutes, the iHc, Br, and (BH)max of the hot-pressed magnet were 1O.8KOe, 7.3KG and 8.0MGOe respectively. Domain structure was mainly maze pattern, which means that the easy magnetization axis could be aligned, and the domain width of the hot-pressed magnets was smaller than that of bonded magnets.

Effect of Critical Cooling Rate on the Formation of Intermetallic Phase During Rapid Solidification of FeNbHfBPC Alloy

  • We present the effect of the critical cooling rate during rapid solidification on the nucleation of precipitates in an Fe75B13P5Nb2Hf1C4 (at.%) alloy. The thermophysical properties of the rapidly solidified Fe75B13P5Nb2Hf1C4 liquids, which were obtained at various cooling rates with various sizes of gas-atomized powder during a high-pressure inert gas-atomization process, were evaluated. The cooling rate of the small-particle powder (≤20 ㎛) was 8.4×105 K/s, which was 13.5 times faster than that of the large-particle powder (20 to 45 mm; 6.2×104 K/s) under an atomized temperature. A thermodynamic calculation model used to predict the nucleation of the precipitates was confirmed by the microstructural observation of MC-type carbide in the Fe75B13P5Nb2Hf1C4 alloy. The primary carbide phase was only formed in the large-particle gas-atomized powder obtained during solidification at a slow cooling rate compared to that of the small-particle powder.

The Structural and Material Characteristics of Bogjeon Chongtong from the Joseon Dynasty (조선시대 복전총통의 구조와 재료적 특징)

  • Bogjeon chongtong, a military firearm from the Joseon Dynasty, remains undocumented with extant ones only discovered relatively recently. This study examined the structural and material characteristics of the bogjeon chongtong by comparing the specifications, shapes, inscriptions, and components of 12 pieces of bogjeon chongtong, which have not been described in detail to date. Bogjeon chongtong has certain set properties in terms of its specifications and shapes. This study also estimated the number of projectiles fired at once by comparing the specifications and records. In terms of design, the handle slot has an outline engraved in relief along with the name of the artifact. The inscribed outline is the most notable feature of the bogjeon chongtong that is not seen in other chongtong artifacts. Therefore, this study analyzed the inscription techniques used in the production process. The main ingredients of bogjeon chongtong are copper and tin, with a tin content of 6wt%. It was confirmed that this is highly similar to the average composition of bronze gunpowder weapons of the Joseon Dynasty as identified in prior research, and that it is also similar to the bronze gunmetal of medieval Europe. These conclusions were drawn in consideration of the material properties required for gunpowder weapons, which allows the inference that the materials used for firearms were selected by prioritizing functionality based on the alloy ratio.

유도결합 플라즈마를 이용한 $HfAlO_3$ 박막의 선택비 연구

  • 최근 빠른 동작속도와 고 집적도를 얻기 위해 metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) 의 크기는 계속 해서 줄어들고 있다. 동시에 게이트의 절연층도 얇아지게 된다. 절연층으로 사용되는 $SiO_2$ 의 두께가 2nm 이하로 얇아 지게 되면 터널링에 의해 누설 전류가 발생하게 된다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 $SiO_2$ 를 대체할 고유전체 물질의 연구가 활발하다. 고유전체 물질 중에는 $ZrO_2,\;Al_2O_3,\;HfO_2$ 등이 많이 연구 되어 왔다. 하지만 유전상수 이외에 band gap energy, thermodynamic stability, recrystallization temperature 등의 특성이 좋지 않아 대체 물질로 문제점이 있다. 이를 보안하기 위해 산화물을 합금과 결합시키면 서로의 장점들이 합쳐져 기준들을 만족하는 물질을 만들 수 있고 $HfAlO_3$가 그 중 하나이다. Al를 첨가하는 이유는 문턱전압을 낮추기 위해서다. $HfAlO_3$는 유전상수 18.2, band gap energy 6.5 eV, recrystallization temperature 800 $^{\circ}C$이고 열역학적 특성이 안정적이다. 게이트 절연층은 전극과 기판사이에 적층구조를 이루고 있어 이방성인 드라이 에칭이 필요하고 공정 중 마스크물질과의 선택비가 높아야한다. 본 연구는 $HfAlO_3$박막을 $BCl_3/Ar,\;N_2/BCl_3/Ar$ 유도결합 플라즈마를 이용해 식각했다. 베이스 조건은 RF Power 500 W, DC-bias -100 V, 공정압력 15 mTorr, 기판온도 40 $^{\circ}C$ 이다. 가스비율, RF Power, DC-bias, 공정 압력에 의한 마스크물질과 의 선택비를 알아보았다.

  • It is very important in the view point of resource recycling to recover valuable metals such as copper and tin from waste electric and electronic scrap. The waste electric and electronic scrap contains significant amounts of copper, tin, and so on. In this study, a new process for extracting copper and tin contained in the waste electric and electronic scrap using waste copper slag which is generated from the melting furnace of copper smelter was presented. Advantage of the proposed process is to reuse waste copper slag instead of new fluxes as slag formatives. In each experiment, the waste electric and electronic scrap and waste copper slag were melted inputting suitable amount of CaO as an additional flux. Up to 95% of copper and 85% of tin in the raw material were extracted in a Cu-Fe-Sn alloy phase.
