the Naval Combat Management System(CMS) has been installed and used in various ships since its localization, and has been developed by continuously introducing the latest technology. Recently, surface ship CMS have applied server virtualization and desktop virtualization(Virtual Desktop Infra, VDI) technologies among virtualization technologies to increase system stability and limitations on the limited space and weight of ships. On the other hand, submarine CMS do not have virtualization technology applied, so there are limitations in space and weight limitations and CMS efficiency improvement. To this end, this paper proposes a next-generation submarine CMS using Docker-based server virtualization. Through performance analysis between the processor of the existing CMS and the processor to which Docker-based server virtualization was applied, it was confirmed that the method proposed in this paper is applicable to the next-generation submarine CMS.

In this paper, we propose the standardization architecture and weapon-sensor simulator for efficient reliability test in combat system. To reduce man-month of reliability test, application with high dependency on other module is selected and apply FORM. The proposed standardization architecture extracts common, variable elements and design patterns, S.O.L.I.D principles were applied. The proposed weapon-sensor simulator implements essential functions by identifying highly dependent element of other modules and the information from equipment can be directly received without processing by using communication middleware. As a result, it can replace actual ship-mounted equipment. In addition, it is possible to reduce the consumption rate of human resources when perform reliability test and modification time can be shorted.
This research has conducted high availability system modeling to assure the reliability of shipboard combat systems. Shipboard combat system is a way for efficient execution of duty and a crucial battlefield management system that determines the outcome of battle in the modern war. Especially in regard to a network-centric operational environment in the future, even 1% of malfunction can lead to fatal consequences for the outcome of war. So combat system should be designed by high availability system which is a "always-on" service. In this point of view, This work describes an architecture-based various high availability model and proposed alternative high available systems that can achieve more than 99.9999% accuracy at a minimum. This paper also provides an applicable model with which system engineers analyze out system failure and recovery process by employing computerized tools.
Naval combat systems use real-time processing and compositing of collected information to provide the optimal combat capabilities that maximize survival and ensure mission effectiveness. The software for a combat system has dozens to thousands of components depending on the size of the system, and the communication between the components is achieved via DDS. Although the message interface of the combat system is managed through MDMS, an increase in the system size can result in problems such as the deterioration of the development efficiency. In this paper, we implement XMDMS to operate a distributed processing environment and then solve the problem of the reduction in the development efficiency caused by a load at the server. The experimental results shows that XMDMS improves the processing delay and network performance compared to MDMS.

Naval combat management system is a kind of complex weapon systems performing naval ship's warfare mission by integrating various types of system including sensor systems, weapon systems and many kinds of communication system. Recently, there are many studies to apply commercial high-level communication middleware to naval combat system development to integrate and interoperate various kinds of heterogeneous on-board systems efficiently. An initial discovery mechanism is required for application modules to start communication with their relevant modules to apply middlware technology in developing naval combat system, which is characterized by large-scale, complex and real-time system. This paper suggests a fast hybrid discovery mechanism which combines static and dynamic discovery mechanism and confirms its adaptability by an experiment on testing environment.

The naval combat system is gradually evolving, actively accepting technological advances. The domain components of the naval combat system must also be adapted to the gradual evolution of the naval battle system. In other words, domain components should be easy to change. However, existing domain components do not fully consider changeability. In particular, when receiving more messages than planned from the middleware, it does not consider a way to process them in a timely manner. We propose a domain component reference architecture for timely processing of increased messages. The proposed architecture separates domain components so that business logic can operate independently, and sets up multiple business logic to operate simultaneously to handle increased messages. The track management domain component is designed using the proposed reference architecture to confirm the applicability.

The combat systems in Korea navy have been operating some kinds of tactical data link systems such as Link-11, ISDL and JTDLS. Each tactical data link system has the ability to transmit and receive tactical information like track, engagement, weapon information by using unique message of theirs. And each unique message has their own format. But a number of tactical data link system make combat effectiveness worse because their major functions are duplicated unnecessarily. So, many advanced countries are trying to make united data link system. Similarly, the combat systems in Korea navy will operate C4I data link system, and it is combined version current ISDL, KNCCS and JTDLS data link system. In this paper, we consider the development current tactical data link systems in Korea navy. Also, compare the characteristics between I-message used in ISDL and Host-Interface message used in C4I. From these results, we analyze advanced points about C4I data link system.
In this paper, we perform Single Image Super Resolution(SISR) for acquired images of EOTS or IRST from naval combat system. In order to conduct super resolution, we use Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs), which consists of a generative model to create a super-resolution image from the given low-resolution image and a discriminative model to determine whether the generated super-resolution image is qualified as a high-resolution image by adjusting various learning parameters. The learning parameters consist of a crop size of input image, the depth of sub-pixel layer, and the types of training images. Regarding evaluation method, we apply not only general image quality metrics, but feature descriptor methods. As a result, a larger crop size, a deeper sub-pixel layer, and high-resolution training images yield good performance.
