Non-Liner Analysis of Shear Beam Model using Mode Superposition (모드중첩법을 이용한 전단보 모델의 비선형 해석)

  • To analyze the dynamic behavior of structure, direct integration and mode superposition may be utilized in time domain analysis. As finite number of frequencies can give relatively exact solutions, mode superposition is preferable in analyzing structural behavior. In non-linear analysis, however, mode superposition is seldom used since time-varying element stiffness changes stiffness matrix, and the change of stiffness matrix leads to the change of essential constants - natural frequencies and mode shapes. In spite of these difficulties, there are some attempts to adopt mode superposition because of low cost compared to direct integration, but the result is not satisfactory. In this paper, a method using mode superposition in non-linear analysis is presented by separating local element stiffness from global stiffness matrix with the difference between linear and non-linear restoring forces to the external force vectors included. Moreover, the hysteresis model changing with the relative deformation in each floor makes it possible to analyze non-linear behavior of structure. The proposed algorithm is applied to shear beam model and the maximum displacement is compared with the result using direct integration method.

Magnetoresistance Effects in Cr5S6 Single Crystal (Cr5S6 단결정의 자기저항 효과)

  • We have investigated the magnetoresistance effect in $Cr_5S_6$ single crystals prepared by vapor transport method. Room temperature X-ray diffraction (XRD) study reveals the phase formation of the single crystals with trigonal crystal structure. The magnetization was measured as a function of temperature (5 K~400 K) and applied magnetic field (0.1 T and 5 T). The magnetization curve as a function of temperature reveals the two transition states of $Cr_5S_6$: one from antiferromagnetic to ferrimagnetic state at ~150 K and the other from ferrimagnetic to paramagnetic state at ~300 K. Temperature dependent resistivity at 0 T and 5 T magnetic field shows the metallic behavior, showing the transition from antiferromagnetic to ferrimagnetic state at ~150 K. Magnetic field dependence of magnetization was measured at four fixed temperatures viz. 100 K, 150 K, 200 K, and 300 K. It is observed that at 200 K and 300 K it shows well M-H hysteresis behavior, whereas at 100 K and 150 K it shows non-hysteretic nature. A negative magnetoresistance (MR) of -2% is observed at 5 T for $Cr_5S_6$ single crystal at 150 K, near the antiferromagnetic transition temperature.

Numerical Simulation of PFOA in Tokyo Bay using EMT-3D (EMT-3D 모델을 이용한 동경만의 PFOA 시뮬레이션)

  • A three-dimensional ecological model (EMT-3D) was applied to Tokyo Bay for the simulation of PFOA. EMT-3D was calibrated with seawater analysis data obtained from the study area in 2004. The simulated results of dissolved PFOA were in good agreement with the observed values, with a correlation coefficient(R) of 0.7115${\sim}$0.8759 and a coefficient of determination $(R^2)$ of 0.5062${\sim}$0.7672. The results of sensitivity analysis showed that partition rate, adsorption rate and settling rate were important factors for PFOA in particulate organic matter. In the case of PFOA in phytoplankton, bioconcentration factor, uptake rate and partition rate were important factors. Therefore, the parameters must be carefully considered in the modeling. In the case of 50% and 80% total loads reduction, concentration of dissolved PFOA was shown to be lower than 20ng/L and 10ng/L, respectively. In the case of reduction of loads from rivers in each prefecture, Tokyo prefecture was found to have the most influence on the change of dissolved PFOA in surface water while Chiba prefecture was found to have the most influnce on the change of dissolved PFOA in bottom water.

Increasing Instream flow in Nonsancheon by Water Storage Securing Scenario of Upstream Reservoirs (상류 저수지군의 저수량 확보 시나리오에 의한 논산천의 유지유량 증가)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effect of increasing instream flow at Nonsancheon stream of Nonsan city by securing water storages in upstream reservoirs; Ge-ryong, Gyoung-cheon, Dae-dun, and Tab-jeong. The paralleled and cascaded upstream reservoir operations for 8 storage securing scenarios were considered to simulate daily streamflows at Nonsan station. Using Tab-jeong reservoir water storage, the DAWAST model's parameters were determined, and the verified result showed Nash-Schcliffe's coefficient of 0.666. Instream flows were analyzed to supply maximum $59.85Mm^3$ on an annually average from upstream reservoir storage securing scenarios. The storage securing set of 2 m heightened Ge-ryong, 5 m Dae-dun, and 1 m Tab-jeong showed that the additional secured water storages were $17.132Mm^3$ and instream flow at Nonsan station was increased to $2.183m^3/s$, 2 times of present condition.

Effects of Temperature and n-Alcohols (Propanol, Butanol, Pentanol and Hexanol) on the Micellization of Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide (Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide의 미셀화 현상에 미치는 온도 효과 및 n-알코올(프로판올, 부탄올, 펜탄올 및 헥산올) 효과)

  • The critical micelle concentration(CMC) and the counterion binding $constant(\beta)$ at the CMC of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) in a series of aqueous solutions containing medium chain-length n-alcohols(Propanol, Butanol, Pentanol and Hexanol) have been determined from the concentration dependence of electrical conductance at serveral temperature from $17^{\circ}C\;to\;41^{\circ}C.$ Thermodynamic parameters $({\Delta}G^o_m,\;{\Delta}H^o_m,\;{\Delta}S^o_m,\;and\;{\Delta}C_p)$ associated with micelle formation of CTAB have been also estimated from the temperature dependence of CMC and $\beta$ values, and the significance of these parameters and their relation to the theory of micelle formation have been considered. The results show that an enthalpy-entropy compensation effect is usually observed for the micellization of CTAB. The effects of n-alcohols on the micellar properties (CMC and $\beta$) of CTAB solutions have been also investigated. The addition of n-alcohol to the CTAB solution in a small quantity decreases the CMC value and the counterion binding constant $(\beta)$ at the CMC, but the addition of n-alcohol in an excessive quantity increases the CMC values on the conterary. These results have been explained in terms of the effect of the micelle-solubilized alcohol on the micellar surface charge density.

Development of Macro-Element for the Analysis of Elastically Supported Plates (탄성 지지된 판구조 해석을 위한 매크로 요소의 개발)

  • The superstructure of general bridge like slab bridge and slab on girder bridge is composed of elastically supported isotropic plate. The objective of this study is to develop the new analysis method for elastically supported plate with general edge beam or girder(boundaries) under arbitrary out of plane loading. The displacement solutions for the macro-element of plate and beam are obtained by solving for the unknown interactive forces and moments at the beam or nodal line locations after satisfying equilibrium equation along the nodal line. The displacement functions for macro-elements ate proposed in single Fourier series using harmonic analysis, and the equilibrium equations of nodal line are composed by using slope-deflection method. The proposed analysis method is programmed by MS-Fortran and can be applied to all types of isotropic decks with bridge-type boundaries. Numerical examples involving elastically supported plates with various aspect ratio, loading cases, and bridge-type boundary conditions are presented to demonstrate the accuracy of this program. The major advantage of this new analysis method is the development of a simple solution algorithm, leads to obtain rapidly responses of bridge deck system. This proposed method can be used in parametric study of behavior of bridge decks.

  • Crystallographic and magnetic properties of perovskite $Gd_{1-x}Sr_xFeO_{3-y}$ (x=0.0, 0.5) substituted $Sr^{2+}$ having larger inoic radius than $Gd^{3+}$ at GdFeO$_3$have been studied by x-ary diffraction, M$\ "{o}$ssbauer spectroscopy, and VSM. The cystal structures are found to be orthorhombic with the lattice parameters : $a_o=5.53\;{\AA},\;b_o=5.608\;{AA},\;C_o=7.724\;{\AA}$ for $Gd_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}FeO_{3-y}$ (x=0.0, 0.5) have been investigated over temperature range from 4.2 to 690 K using the M$\ "{o}$ssbauer technique. The Neel temperatuer of $Gd_{1-x}Sr_xFeO_{3-y}$ system is 690 K with x value of 0.0 and 515 K with x value of 0.5. Analysis of M$\ "{o}$ssbauer spectra Mohr's salt analysis for $Gd_{1-x}Sr_xFeO_{3-y}$ demonstrated the existence of the mixed valence states of iron and the coordination state of $Fe^{3+}$ and $Fe^{4+}$ ions. The Corresponding hyperfine parameters for GdFeO$_3$ are compatible with S=5/2 $Fe^{3+}$ in octahedral cooedination.l cooedination.

담자균 균사체 발효음료의 기능성 검토

  • 버섯은 균사체와 자실체를 가진 고등균류로서 옛날부터 식용은 물론 약용으로 많이 사용되어 왔으며 부작용이 없는 저칼로리 식품으로서, 영양적인 측면과 의약품으로서의 효능을 가진 식품으로 인식되어 소비량이 날로 증가하는 추세이다. 버섯은 항균자용, 항암작용, 면역증강작용, 혈압강하 효과 및 혈중 콜레스테롤합성 억제효과 등의 다양한 생리활성을 나타내고 있어 국내에서도 버섯의 균사체 배양이 활기를 띄고 있다. 본 연구에서는 5종류의 버섯(아가리쿠스, 상황, 노루궁뎅이, 운지, 동충하초)의 균사체 배양원액을 10%, 30%, 50%, 100% 함유한 음료로서 전자공여능, 아질산염소거능, MDA cell과 A549 cell에 대한 암세포 증식억제 작용을 조사하였다. 5종류의 버섯 균사체 음료의 전자공여능은 발효원액을 30% 함유한 경우에 72∼89%였으며 100% 원액의 경우는 87∼93%의 탁월한 항산화능을 나타내었다. 균사체 음료의 아질산염 소거능은 노루궁뎅이버섯이 가장 높아서 균사체 원액은 73%, 112 희석액은 51%였으며 다음은 동충하초의 균사체 원액이 52%를 나타내었고 나머지 3종류의 버섯 균사체는 28∼36%의 아질산염소거능을 나타내었다. 균사체 발효음료 원액은 MBA cell에 대하여 5종류의 버섯 모두에서 82∼85%의 높은 암세포 증식억제작용을 나타내었고 동충하초는 1/2 희석액에서도 80%이상의 증식억제활성을 나타내었다. 균사체 발효음료 원액의 A549 cell에 대한 증식억제능은 동충하초 발효원액이 68%, 상황 발효원액이 50%로서 MDA cell에 대한 증식억제효과 보다는 효능이 낮은 편이었다. 전체적으로 5종류의 버섯 균사체 발효음료는 항산화작용, 아질산염소거능, 항암활성이 우수한 기능성 음료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.적으로 평가하는데 적합하나 아직 국내에선 X-선을 이용한 가공용 감자의 내부 결함특성에 대한 연구는 이뤄지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 가공용 감자의 내부결함 특성중 하나인 내부동공의 X-선에 의한 특성을 본 연구소에 있는 X-선 발생장비로 측정해 보고 비파괴적인 방법으로 실시간 가능성을 시험하였다. 감자는 수원 농산물 도매시장에서 2003년산 가공용 감자 (품종:선농)를 구매하여 사용하였다. 감자내 내부동공은 35 ∼ 40 kV와 5.25 mA값으로 발생된 X-선에 의해 잘 검출되는 것으로 나타나, 현장에서 충분히 활용가능 할 것으로 판단되었다. 금후, 실시간으로 내부동공을 검출할 수 있는 시스템을 개발할 계획이다.정한 결과 메탄올에서는 5% 농도차이가 그 추출효율에 유의적인 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 에탄올에서는 40%에서 가장 높은 함량이 측정되었고 아세톤에서는 50%에서 측정되었다. 따라서 시료의 상태와 상관없이 배 과피의 페놀성물질 추출용매로는 40∼70%의 함수 아세톤이 적합한 것으로 사료된다.en delicious는 상온에서60일 동안 보관하였을 경우, 사과표피의 색도 변화를 현저히 지연시킴을 확인하였다. 또한 control과 비교하여 성공적으로 사과에 코팅하였으며, 상온에서 보관하여을 때 사과의 품질을 30일 이상 연장하는 효과를 관찰하였다. 이들 결과로부터 대두단백질 필름이 과일 등의 포장제로서 이용할 가능성을 확인하였다.로 [-wh] 겹의문사는 복수 의미를 지닐 수 없 다. 그러면 단수 의미는 어떻게 생성되는가\ulcorner 본 논문에서는 표면적 형태에도 불구하고 [-wh]의미의 겹의문사는 병렬적 관계의 합성어가 아니라 내부구조를 지니지 않은 단순한 단어(minimal $X^{0}$ elements

Improving of land-cover map using IKONOS image data (IKONOS 영상자료를 이용한 토지피복도 개선)

  • High resolution satellite image analysis has been recognized as an effective technique for monitoring local land-cover and atmospheric changes. In this study, a new high resolution map for land-cover was generated using both high-resolution IKONOS image and conventional land-use mapping. Fuzzy classification method was applied to classify land-cover, with minimum operator used as a tool for joint membership functions. In separateness analysis, the values were not great for all bands due to discrepancies in spectral reflectance by seasonal variation. The land-cover map generated in this study revealed that conifer forests and farm land in the ground and tidal flat and beach in the ocean were highly changeable. The kappa coefficient was 0.94% and the overall accuracy of classification was 95.0%, thus suggesting a overall high classification accuracy. Accuracy of classification in each class was generally over 90%, whereas low classification accuracy was obtained for classes of mixed forest, river and reservoir. This may be a result of the changes in classification, e.g. reclassification of paddy field as water area after water storage or mixed use of several classification class due to similar spectral patterns. Seasonal factors should be considered to achieve higher accuracy in classification class. In conclusion, firstly, IKONOS image are used to generated a new improved high resolution land-cover map. Secondly, IKONOS image could serve as useful complementary data for decision making when combined with GIS spatial data to produce land-use map.

Study on the Maintenance Interval Decisions for Life expectancy in Railway Turnout clearance Detector (철도 분기기 밀착검지기 Life expectancy의 유지보수 주기 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Railway turnout systems are one of the most important systems in a railway and abnormal turnout systems can cause serious accidents. To detect an abnormal state of a turnout, turnout clearance detectors are widely used. These devices consider a failure of a turnout clearance detectors to be a failure of the turnout system, that could hinder train operations. Analysis of turnout clearance detector failures is very important to ensure normal train operation. We categorized failures of detectors into four groups to identify failure characteristics of the 140 detectors, which are composed of main line detectors (A), side tracks (B), detectors that are in operation more than 80 times a day (C) and detectors that are in operation fewer than 10 times per day. Failures of detectors have mainly been caused in the control part, in the cables and sensors; failures are classified into four groups (A, B, C and D). We have tried to find failure density distributions for each type of failures, inferring the parameter distributions a priori. Finally, using the Bayesian inference we proposed a maintenance time for control parts through the mean time of the detector, life and the life expectancy.
