Although ports play one of the most important roles in international trade, little research has been done on the influence of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) on maritime transport and port volume. While the quantity of goods transported is a great indicator for composing ship groups that can lead to an expansion of port infrastructure, routes, ships, and processing abilities; previous research has focused only on the amount of money involved. Even though it is essential to understand the expected economic effects that FTAs will bring in the future, this study analyzes the current influences of FTAs, that have been already contracted, using existing experimental data. Study results show how FTA affects the volume of transported goods in South Korea with the example of the FTA between South Korea and India. Finally, we provide a network model based on the existing experiment data.

The present study made an empirical analysis for investigating the competitiveness of technology trades in Korea. In particular, the study deduced the correlation between technology export and technology import using the variables of Gross Domestic Expenditure on R&D and Per capita industry value added Productivity and employed fixed effect model in panel linear regression model. It is found that the R&D expenditure of OECD countries made a significant effect on the technology import and the value-added labor productivity made a significant result on both technology export and import. Therefore, it showed that the technology trade in Korea made a sensitive response to labor productivity in OECD countries. By panel analysis, machine, construction, ICT, and service industry affect most on technology export in Korea for recent 5 years. For technology import, electric-electron, chemical, service, and construction industry have significant effects. This study contributed to understanding of industrial characteristics affecting technology trades in Korea and empirical analysis to show correlation between the factors affecting technology trade.

국제 곡물가격의 고공행진 등 축산업 전반적으로 어려움이 지속되고 있는 가운데 신정부가 지난 2월 출범하였다. 한.미 FTA 국회비준은 물론 한·EU FTA 협상 전개 등이 경기 침체와 맞물려 앞으로의 양계산업은 가시밭길이 예상되고 있다. 신정부 출범과 함께 본회에 서는 양계인들의 의견을 수렴하여 8개 사안에 대해 양계분야 정책을 정부에 건의한 내용을 요약.게재한 것이다.

"2011년 한 해가 저물었다. 돌이켜 보면 축산인들에게 2011년 한 해는 견디기 힘든 한 해였다. 2010년 말에 발생한 FMD가 전남북과 제주도를 제외한 전역으로 확산되면서 축산인들의 가슴을 아프게 했다. 또한 한 미 FTA국회 비준으로 더욱 높아진 개방 파고를 걱정해야 했다. 이밖에 지자체의 가축사육제한 조례 제정 등 축산업계 10대 뉴스를 짚어봤다."

정부가 내주 중에 한미 자유무역협정(FTA) 비준동의안을 국회에 제출할 예정이다. 이혜민 외교통상부 FTA 교섭대표는 "비준동의안 국회제출에 필요한 절차는 모두 마친 상태, 당정간 협의를 거쳤으며 내주에 비준동의안을 국회에 낼 계획"이라고 말했다. 지난 주 사실상 타결된 한.인도 CEPA(포괄적 경제동반자 협정)에 대해 이 대표는 인도가 일본, 유럽연합(EU) 등 이들 선진국과의 협상에 시간이 걸릴 것으로 전망하였으며 이번 협상에서 인도 측은 상품에 따라 관세를 협정 발효와 함께 즉시 또는 5년 내 철폐 방안과 8년 내 관세 축소 방안, 8년 뒤 1-1.5% 관세인하 방안, 10년 내 기존 관세를 50% 감축하는 방안에 대해 우리 측과 합의했다.협상이 진행중인 한.EU FAT는 오는 7일과 19일 각각 수석대표 회담과 통상장관 회담을 갖고 자동차 기술표준과 원산지 등 핵심쟁점에 대한 절충을 벌일 예정이다

The primary purpose of this study is to analyze the impact and determinants of bilateral Free Trade Agreements on international total bulk shipment trade volume at the port of Korea using the Panel Gravity Model. The model estimates the aggregated panel data of exports and imports (excluding transshipment) as a dependent variable during the period from 1996 to 2015. GDP, GDP per capita, distances between bilateral countries, and FTA dummies are included as independent variables. And the economic integration of FTAs including ASEAN+3 and NAFTA3 countries were used as dummy variables. Study results show that GDP and GDP per capita have positive impacts on bulk shipment trade volume at the port of Korea. In addition, Korea's bilateral FTAs with Singapore, India and the United States have positive effects on total bulk trade volume in Korea. This is the so called trade creation effect. On the other hand, ASEAN+3 and NAFTA have negative effects on the total bulk trade. This is the so called trade diversion effect. Also, the distance between Korea and its trade partners has a negative impact. These findings provide insights for: further academic research, site operators who work in related trade and maritime sectors, and policy makers engaged in port and maritime operations. The results can be used to develop strategies for maximizing bulk port throughput.

본 협회에서는 지난 6월19일 서울대학교 문화관 중 강당에서 한.미 FTA협상과 관련 하여 양봉산업의 중요성과 화분매개로 인한 농업.농촌에 미치는 영향 등을 대내.외에 알리기 위해 금번 심포지엄을 개최하게 되었다. 이날 350여명의 양봉인들이 참석한 가운데 개최된 심포지엄자리에서 본 협 전기현 회장은 심포지엄의 개최 취지와 양봉산업의 현 실태 및 한.미 FTA협상과 관련된 내용 등을 역설했다. 특히 바쁜 여름철 봉군관리에도 불구하고 참석해주신 양봉여러분께 감사 말을 아끼지 않았다.

This study analyzed the impacts of FTAs (Free Trade Agreements) actively being promoted by the Korean government on the Korean economy, energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and found the policy implications in terms of the linkage amongst them. The simulation analysis by using a global CGE model, KEEI-GCGE, found that the effectuation of Korea-USA, the Korea-EU and the Korea-China-Japan FTAs at the same time would increase the real gross domestic product (GDP) of Korea by 2.04%. In addition, the energy consumption and GHG emissions of Korea are estimated to increase by 3.33% and 1.53% respectively. These results imply that the various medium and long-term plans and policies related to energy and GHG emissions in Korea should systematically reflect those potential impacts of the FTAs.

한.미 FTA가 체결됨에 따라 축산분야의 피해가 가장 클 것으로 예상되면서 정부지원 규모에 축산인들의 관심이 집중되고 있는 가운데 내년도 축산분야 정부 예산안이 확정되어 발표됐다. 내년도 축산부문 총 사업규모는 9천8백8억원으로 올 예산 7천7백38억원 대비 26.7%, 2천70억원이 늘어난 규모이다. 내년 농림부 축산부문을 살펴보면, 오는 2012년 축산분뇨의 해양투기 금지에 따라 분뇨처리시설사업 부문의 예산은 2백54억원 증액되었으나, 강제폐기보상금 3백억원이 줄어들어 오히려 농특회계 사업규모는 금년 대비 1.5%, 25억원 감소했다. 반면 한.미 FTA 등 개방화에 대응하여 축산업의 경쟁력 강화 등을 위한 축발기금 및 FTA 기금 사업규모는 신규사업 발굴 등을 통해 금년 6천36억원보다 35% 증액된 2천1백9억원이 늘어났다.

This paper study on the effect of the removal or reduction of the tariff on Korea-India trade by CEPA between Korea & India and then examines the effects of increased exports & imports to Korea on India. Despite the analysis is based on data over a short period of time, this paper shows that CEPA between Korea & India has substantially increased Korean exports(42.7%) and imports(37%) to India in 2010. It is also shown that CEPA between Korea & India has had a considerable impact on market. As a result can be summarized as follows. The potential fields of expanding the trade between the two countries due to the tariff concessions of the removal or reduction. Consequently the effect of the removal or reduction of tariff will be low our expectation but CEPA between Korea & India would have a positive effect on Korea's exports to India in the long term. This paper has examined the impact of CEPA between Korea & India on general economy. It needs a further study to estimate trade diversion effect of CEPA and to find out the impacts on specific industry.
