This study was analyzed the syllable structure of Korean and Chinese using subjective sound similarity judgement tasks with both Korean-chinese and Chinese students in Shenyang, China. 86 college students were administered with the tasks which lasted about 20 min. in a small group setting. Both Korean-chinese and Chinese students showed the sensitivity for the CV sub-syllabic unit and the CV+C was the building block for phonetic representation for both languages. This syllabic similarity of Korean and Chinese may be a help for Korean-chinese to become horizontal bilinguals. Further studies are needed to specify the mechanism that will explain the syllabic perception of CV+C in both Korean and Chinese which was different from that of C+VC structure dominance in English.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the costumes of the master in Yuantaizi(원대자) tumulus murals and to examine the relation to the costumes of Koguryo(고구려). The Master appeared in Yuantaizi Tumulus Murals wear Wuguan(무관), Pingshangze(평상장) and Pao(포) These costumes were used as chaofu(조복) by Han race(한족) at that time. It is believed that Yuantaizi tumulus belongs to a tomb of Qian Yan(전연). So we can conclude that Qian Yan accepted costume systems of Han race. And similar costumes appear in Tumulus Murals of Koguryo built around Pyungyang(평양) and Anak(안악) in 4∼5 century. Especially the master's costumes of Anak Tomb No.3(안악3호분) are nearly the same as Yuantaizi's. Maybe it is closely related to the fact that the master of Anak Tomb No.3 is Dongsu (동수) who defected from Qian Yan.

The Miaos have their own peculiar and luxurious transtional culture a they have experienced repeated fusion into and resistance againt the Han Race or the chinese in their long and old history. And the traditional culture of the Miaos is abundant and diverse in several respects. Because it has taken root in foundation of their simple and native environment. it is embracing abundant and diverse contents. They largely used as the theme of patterns factual materials such as natural objects easily accessible in the natural environment. those related to marratives reflective of ethnicity, animals and plants symbolic of auspicious omen, peace, happiness and good harrest with prosperity and abundance. And they not only crossornamented natural patterns and geometrical patterns by combining them but also geometric patterns alone. It can be seen that Miaos represented patterns with exaggerated formation, overlapping and modification and the comprehensive, fomation of natural forms, abstract formation etc. Seeing the ethnic costume of Miaos investigated in these several respects by the standard of contemporary beauty it is thought that it has the infinite possibility of being used in contemporary fashion design on account of the characteristic of almost perfect costume.
