The Development of Herbal Medicine Network Analysis System

  • Network pharmacology in traditional Korean and Chinese medicine studies the molecular and biological aspects of herbal medicine using computational methods. Despite variations in databases, techniques, and criteria, most studies follow similar steps: constructing herb-compound networks, compound-target networks, and target interpretation. To ensure efficient and consistent analysis in herbal medicine network pharmacology, we designed and implemented a common analysis pipeline. We showed its reliability with existing databases. The proposed system has a potential to facilitate network pharmacology analysis in traditional medicine, ensuring consistent analysis of various herbal medicines.

삼음삼양(三陰三陽)의 운기학적(運氣學的) 해석특성(解釋特性) 고찰(考察)

  • 阴阳作为古代东洋哲学的主要概念, 是所有东洋学思想的基础. 以从太虚到太极, 从太极到阴阳, 从阴阳到四象分化的二分法体系为基础, 阴阳的概念在医学方面也形成了最大的理论背景. 虽然三阴三阳是阴阳的概念在医学理论范畴的延伸, 它和阴阳的概念是有差别的. 这是因为三阴三阳是立足于古代医学体系, 是为了阐释医学体系而引入的概念. 换句话说, 三阴三阳是为了阐释人体的形成, 构成以及运化的原理, 通过"本-中-末"和"始-中-終"以及"開闔樞"的概念来解释人体而创造的创造性用语. 三陰三陽的概念是对阴阳的概念的扩大, 但是和阴阳的概念范畴有差别. 用运气学解释时三阴三阳的特性如下. 三阴三阳是为了解释人体的发生和构成及运化的原理, 运用本-中-末和始-中-終, 以及開闔樞的概念的创造性的用语. 另一方面, 作为三阴三阳的天文学的背景的宇宙观是宣夜说, 存在于天体中的所有的事物都受大气的制约. 三陰三陽按照厥陰, 少陰, 太陰, 少陽, 陽明, 太陽的顺序, 其分类是按照阴阳之气的多少来观察事物的. 三阴三阳是观察观的量的状态和时间运化度, 显现时空合一的高层次的概念. 在这里所说的时间性的运化是指具有生命的有机体的运化. 三阴三阳在运气七篇以外的篇章中部分适用, 应用于經脈的命名, 脈象的形態, 外感熱病的体系, 傷寒病的分类形式等, 在运气学中包括标本中的概念, 设定为六气的标气, 和十二地支结合形成完整的形态. 包含标本中的三阴三阳的特征阐明了属阴的行质和无形的气的运化. 三阴三阳是在定性的基础上定量的把握事物, 结合時-空, 综合臟腑經絡, 形質的概念和气化的概念而形成的概念. 三阴三阳的运化, 最初运始活动的出发点和最后完成形质结果的状态是重要的阶段, 使这两阶段独立, 成为和太少阴阳相区分的厥阴和阳明的阶段.

Understanding the Conception of Stress regard in the Oriental Medicine (스트레스의 개념에 대한 한의학적 해석)

  • Conclusions for the relationship between a conceptional model of stress theory and its examination based on the Oriental medicine; 1. It was considered that a general conception of stress is included into the meaning of Ki in the Oriental medicine. 2. The response-based model to stress could be comparable to a conception of Ki-pathogens interchange In the Onental medicine. 3. The stimulus-based model may be explained as a modern conception of immoderation feeling related with an internal etiological factor, specially injury of seven emotions, among three groups of etiological factors for disease. 4. The feedback conception based on the interaction model could explain the principal of reversible emotion therapy in the nine Ki. 5. In the Oriental medicine, a study to clarify a emotional etiologic factor and its pathophysiologlcal mechanism has been continued for long time before establishment of stress theory.

Development of Clinical Trial Guidelines for Using Korean Herbal Medicine in Treatment of Common Cold (감기 치료를 위한 한약제제 임상시험 가이드라인 개발)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 감기에 대한 한약제제 임상시험을 수행하고 평가하는 데 보편적인 원칙을 제공하는 가이드라인 개발과정 및 내용을 소개하여 가이드라인 활용성 및 접근성을 높이고자 한다. 방법 : 임상시험 가이드라인 개발을 위해 총 9인으로 이루어진 위원회를 구성하고, 전반적인 절차를 수립하였다. 먼저, 가이드라인 집필위원회에서 관련된 국내외 가이드라인을 고찰하고, 감기에 대한 최신 임상시험 논문을 분석하여 초안을 완성하였다. 이후 대한한방내과학회 소속 전문가 자문위원회 검토 및 8인의 전문가로 구성된 협의회 자문을 통해 최종 가이드라인을 도출하였다. 결과 : 본 가이드라인은 (1) 일반적 사항 (2) 유효성 평가 기준 (3) 유효성 평가 방법 (4) 시험 대상자 선정 (5) 임상시험 설계 (6) 안전성 평가 (7) 감기 치료에서의 병용요법 (8) 한의학적 고려 사항의 8가지 범주로 나뉘어진다. 최종 개발된 가이드라인은 한의약임상시험센터 협의회와 대한한방내과학회의 인증을 득하였다. 결론 : 본 가이드라인은 감기 치료를 위한 임상시험을 수행하고 평가하는 데 유용하게 사용될 것이며, 이를 통해 신뢰할 수 있는 결과를 이끌어내고 정확한 해석을 용이하게 할 수 있을 것이라 기대된다. 또한 추후 해당 가이드라인 개정 및 관련된 호흡기질환 가이드라인 개발 과정에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

'HWABYUNG' in the view of Oriental Medinine (한의학에서 본 홧병의 해석)

  • Hwabyung is a culture-related disease generally know among people in Korea, and various studies have been done by the Psychiatrists and by the Oriental Medical Doctors. While the Psychiatrists explain the Hwabyung as a disease having a unique patholoical process, the Oriental Medical Doctors explain it as a symptoms having the character of fire. When interpreted in Oriental Medical point of view, this can be concluded as 1)the cause of the disease is the depression of liver-energy(肝氣鬱結) induced by emotional suppression, 2)the reason why the disease occurs mostly to female is that they usually fail overcoming stresses and have physical and visceral weaknesses, 3)the symptoms are associated with the dynamics of fire, because the disease originates from the rising character of fire and from the inadequit supression of extreme heart-fire(心火) by the kidney-wter(腎水), 4)the reason why the disease goes through chronic process is because of the complexed emotions, converted fire caused by prolonged emotional disorder and inapropreate supression of fire with grow older. This results suggest thst the cooperative study of the clinical examination of the Psychiatrsis and the study on the fire by the Oriental Medical Doctors is necessary to establish the process of the disease, the pathological procedure, the prognosis and the method of treatment.

"내경(內經)", "난경(難經)"중영위기혈관염적탐토(中榮衛氣血觀念的探討)-이문자고석위핵심관점(以文字考釋為核心觀點) - "내경(內經)", "난경(難經)"에 나타난 영위기혈(營衛氣血) 관념에 대한 고찰 - 문자학적 해석을 중심으로

  • 본 논문은 "난경(難經)"과 "내경(內經)"에 나타난 영위기혈(營衛氣血)의 관념에 관한 연구로서 문자의 훈석(訓釋)을 중심관점으로 삼아 전문적 문자학(文字學) 서적 및 고대경전원저(古代經典原著)를 인용하여 그에 근거해 해설하였다. 문자적(文字的) 근원(根源)을 연구하는 과정에서, 문자학적(文字學的) 관점을 이용하여 여러 전적(典籍)들에서 서술된 관념들을 한층 더 깊이 있게 이해할 수 있다는 점을 발견하였다. 예컨대 본문(本文)에서 논술한 '영'(榮)자에는 "무성하며 밝고 윤택(潤澤)하여 일정한 규칙에 따라 온몸을 순환한다(번무광윤(繁茂光潤), 규도환주(規度環周))"는 의미가 있으며, '위'(衛)자에는 "온몸을 순환하면서 지키고 방어한다(환요어주(環繞於周), 수위방호(守衛防護))"는 의미가 있는데, 중의경전(中醫經典)에서는 영(營)과 위(衛)라고 명명(命名)하여, "온몸을 순환하면서 영양(營養)을 공급하고 몸을 보호하는 작용"을 나타내었다. 문자는 이치를 담고 있으며, 의학의 이치는 글로써 전해진다. 중의(中醫)의 사상(思想)은 모두 이러한 경전고적(經典古籍) 속에 기록되어 있으며, 이러한 경전저작을 학습할 때에는 그것이 표현하는 형식을 분명히 이해해야 하는데, 특히 그 가운데 문자(文字)에 대한 분명한 인지는 매우 중요하다.

  • 본 논문에서는 중의학에 나오는 중국어 문법을 토대로 문헌자료를 분석하는 방법을 사용하여, "상한론"에 나오는 '이(而)'자(字)의 용법을 분류하고 조문별로 해석해 보았다. 우선 기존에 분류된 '이(而)'자(字)의 용법을 기준으로 하여, "상한론"의 조문 중에서 '이(而)'자(字)를 포함하고 있는 것을 모두 취합한 뒤 이를 분류하였고 주요 조문을 첨부하여 참고하도록 하였다. 향후 이러한 언어학적인 연구들은 장중경 "상한론"의 의미를 보다 정확하게 파악하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

A Study on Dongwon(東垣)'s Internal Injury Syndrome in the Aspect of the Study on Epidemic Febrile Disease (동원내상증(東垣內傷證)에 대한 온병학적(溫病學的) 해석(解析))

  • Byeollyangchamsa has been a key factor in formation of Dongwon(東垣)'s theory on internal injuries. The majority regarded Byeollyangchamsa as just epidemic disease, while Dongwon(東垣) regarded it as internal injuries by improper diet and overstrain. However, an analysis of Dongwon(東垣)'s internal injury syndrome revealed that it was a kind of external affections caused by damp-heat. In particular, heat rather than dampness have developed as the disease got worse. Therefore It can be regarded as the serious syndrome to show the impairment of Gi(氣), blood, fluids and humors for pathogenic fire.

Nummular Eczema Treated by Danggwihweyeok-tang Based on Shanghanlun Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System (『상한론(傷寒論)』 변병진단체계(辨病診斷體系)에 근거하여 당귀회역탕(當歸回逆湯) 투여 후 호전된 화폐상 습진 증례 1례)

  • Objective: This study aimed to report the improvement of a patient with nummular eczema treated by herbal medication based on the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system (DPIDS). Methods: According to the Shanghanlun DPIDS, the patient was diagnosed with Reverting yin disease (provision 351), and was administered Danggwihweyeok-tang for 30 days. The result of administration was evaluated by the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) and a visual analog scale (VAS). Results: After administration of Danggwihweyeok-tang for 30 days, the DLQI decreased from 18 to 0 and the VAS decreased from 10 to 1. Conclusions: The affected skin region recovered. This case report suggests that the words "厥" and "細" in the 351st Shanghanlun provision refer to physical and internal causes of nummular eczema.

  • In the study about the logical basis and interpreting methods of animal experiments using rats in traditional medicine, several conclusions are obtained and summarized as following. 1. The logical basis of the animal experiments in traditional medicine is the essential homogeneity between human and rat defined as various transformation of one Qi(一氣) packed the cosmos. 2. Morphologically, the rat has abundant Yin(陰) and less Yang(陽) in most of anatomical characteristics. 3. Physiologically, the rat has unstable heart and mild temper with good fertility, which shows the features of Yin animal. 4. Pathologically, the rat shows the pathology of injury of viscera by stresses(氣激傷臟) and pathological transformations of internal water(痰飮水濕) mainly. 5. Constitutionally, the rat is alike to water type man(水形人) or Soeumin(小陰人) out of Yin Ren(陰人). 6. So, the rat is the proper experimental animal for diseases of sputum and water, emotional stimulations, endocrine system, heart, kidney, Yin syndrome(陰證) etc..
