  • The primary objective of this paper is to examine the capacity of electrical transmission in electric railway feeding system. Although supply capacity of railway substation are sufficient and there is no accident, due to the electrical transmission limit of feeding line the voltage breakdown may occur when large capacity of electric load at feeding line exist. So, using multi-port analysis model, we draw P-V curve due to the length of feeding line, load, location and power factor of electric locomotive. And through case study, compare measurement result and simulation result

  • In this paper, measuring programs for EMC type tests in the railway environments were designed and developed the train harmonic current in ATP frequency band and psophometric current using PXI components and LabVIEW software form National Instruments. As real time applications for EMC tests, harmonic current and psophometric current results of the train were also presented. This new measuring programs for EMC tests in the train are expected to increase test reliability and real-time performance.

  • In this paper, a real-time digital kalman filtering algorithm is used to obtain the reference estimation of the control current for shunt active power filter. This algorithm provides the best estimate of the fundamental and harmonic frequency components from the sampled values of the line current or voltage waveform. By adopting of the digital Kalman filtering algorithm, the structure of the control algorithm eliminates the need of a Phase locked loop(PLL) for the synchronization of the reference signal used in the compensation and it not sensitive to the distortion of the line voltage. The effectiveness of the algorithm is confirmed by the computer simulations.

  • The number of smartphone users in Korea is reaching around 20 million. We perform a research on the actual conditions, complaints and the types of losses, damages or injuries from smartphone users in Korea. Apart form that, we conduct an investigation on the current problems in promoting the use of smartphones. We would like to suggest some points for promoting global uses of smartphones through the analysis of and the comparison with the abroad cases, which precursed the wide-spread of smartphones in Korea.

  • A neutral section is installed around feeding substation(SS) and sectioning post(SP) that M phase and T phase are isolated in AC feeding system. Electric Train under "Notch-OFF" is operated by inertia within the neutral section. It causes disturbing the operation of electric trains for speed drop and driver's mistakes. A automatic changeover system with thyristor recently have taken under development.   • For the continuous and exact measurement of load impedance of AC power system on the electric railway, this paper presents a method to show the load area to resistance(R)-reactance(X) plane of impedance plane. The load area is presented in terms of impedance which is in the ratio of voltage and current continuously measured and impedance plane indicates the protection area of fault locator. The proposed method is verified its reasonability by computer simulation, and using this method we will develop the power system impedance analyser which is available actual application.

  • The rotor of the BLDC motor has permanent magnets on its surface, and is alike the structure of the rotor of synchronous motors. When designing the BLDC motor which has a limited volume in a specific environment, it is important to consider the geometry of the rotor and the length of the airgap. This paper describes a design procedure by analyzing the induced voltage and cogging torque with changing the width of magnets and length of the airgap. And we made a prototype of BLDC motor with this design procedure and our experiment result shows that the cogging torque can be reduced significantly. Also we find a good agreement between the result of experiment and simulation values using Finite Element Analysis.

  • This study result is obtained by flow analysis according to opening and shutting angle of ball valve. As opening and shutting angle becomes larger, vortex flow becomes smaller and flow rate becomes increased. And the pressure drop is shown to be smaller at the inlet and outlet of ball. As this angle becomes larger, mass flow rate becomes increased. Its rate becomes increased abruptly in case of opening and shutting angle at more than $60^{\circ}$.This analysis result can be applied usefully with no leak at pipe system field by the optimum control of mass flow rate according to opening and shutting of ball valve.
