The conservation and restoration of wetlands are essential tasks for the sustainable development of human society and the environment, providing vital benefits such as biodiversity maintenance, natural disaster mitigation, and climate change alleviation. This study aims to analyze the strategic interactions and interests among various stakeholders using game theory and to provide significant grounds for policy decisions related to wetland restoration and development. In this study, hypothetical scenarios were set up for three types of cities: large, medium, and small. Stakeholders such as governments, development companies, environmental groups, and local residents were identified. Strategic options for each stakeholder were developed, and a payoff matrix was established through discussions among wetland ecology experts. Subsequently, non-cooperative game theory was applied to analyze Nash equilibria and Pareto efficiency. In large cities, strategies of 'Wetland Conservation' and 'Eco-Friendly Development' were found beneficial for all stakeholders. In medium cities, various strategies were identified, while in small cities, 'Eco-Friendly Development' emerged as the optimal solution for all parties involved. The Pareto efficiency analysis revealed how the optimal solutions for wetland management could vary across different city types. The study highlighted the importance of wetland conservation, eco-friendly development, and wetland restoration projects for each city type. Accordingly, policymakers should establish regulations and incentives that harmonize environmental protection and urban development and consider programs that promote community participation. Understanding the roles and strategies of stakeholders and the advantages and disadvantages of each strategy is crucial for making more effective policy decisions.

Objectives: This study examined the consumption of Han-sik and its association with the years of residence in Korea and the socioeconomic status among Filipino immigrant women of the Filipino Women's Diet and Health Study (FiLWHEL). Methods: A total of 474 Filipino women married to Korean men were included in the analysis. Their dietary intake was assessed using a single-day 24-hour recall. The participants provided information on the demographics, socioeconomic, and health-related factors through face-to-face interviews. The generalized linear model and logistic regression model were used to examine the association between the socioeconomic status and consumption of Han-sik. Results: The mean age of the participants was 34.3 years old, and the average duration of residence in Korea was 8.2 years. Among 474 Filipino women, a total of 467 consumed Han-sik, with an average of 6.8 food items per day. The Han-sik foods that the participants consumed most frequently were rice, cabbage kimchi, mixed-grain rice, and fried eggs. The average ratio of Han-sik was 58.57%. The ratio of Han-sik showed no significant associations with the years of residence, years of living together with their husband, education levels, total annual family income, or linguistic competence of Korean. However, the ratio of Han-sik use was associated with cohabitation with parents-in-law; the odds ratio (95% confidence interval) was 2.41 (1.18-4.92, p-trend = 0.002) comparing the fourth quartile with the first quartile of the Han-sik ratio. Conclusions: Filipino immigrant women in the FiLWHEL study consumed a larger number of Han-sik than Philippine foods. In addition, cohabitation with their parents-in-law was associated with the consumption of Han-sik. Further epidemiologic studies will be needed to determine how the diet affects the health and wellbeing of immigrant women in Korea.

The study was conducted to understand the meaning of the voluntary service experience of Korean-Chinese who living in South Korea and examine the reason of participating in voluntary activities. 8 people participated in the study, who come from volunteering groups in a Korean-Chinese compact community. Data were collected through in - depth interviews and participation observation. The collected data were categorized and analyzed according to Giorgi's hermeneutic phenomenological research method. As a result of the analysis, three sets of themes were drawn on the nature of their volunteering experience. Through their volunteer activities, they have been improving their images that have been damaged and stigmatized by the mainstream society. Through their volunteer activities, they have improved their self-esteem, got more information about the society and better adapted to Korean society. Moreover, through their volunteer activities, they have increased their sense of responsibility for Korean society and redefined their position in Korea. Given this, they expect the possibility of becoming a global citizen for the future. The meanings of volunteer experience of Chinese Koreans have been examined and discussed in this study, which indicated that the activation of the volunteer activities of migrants contributes positively to the integration of multicultural society.
This study aims to develop and apply a standard management self-diagnostic table for forestry households to better manage their astringent persimmon production. The diagnostic table consisted of 3 categories (general status of a forestry household, management performance indicators, level of management) and 18 subcategories. The current management status across 241 households was surveyed among 10 chief astringent persimmon producing municipalities. Scores from the 18 subcategories were aggregated for a total score to evaluate and compare different levels of management. The respondents scored an overall average of 57.4, 62% of which were placed between 40 and 60. Upon close examination Chungcheongnam-do scored a very low score in the 'management system-tree height' subcategory with respect to the average score potentially because of the large population of aged trees in the region. The national average in the 'production skills-time of fruit load adjustment' subcategory was only 1.96 because unlike sweet persimmons astringent persimmons adjust their own load by inducing physiological fruit drop. The national average in the 'management/sales skills-material purchase' subcategory was 2.01; over 60% of the respondents indicated a preference for independent selection and purchase for most materials. The households preferring a group purchase tended to utilize the regional co-op.
The status of the forest owners and the ownership arrangement has been surveyed in the joint ownership forest of the total 250.59 ha, 17 plots including plot No. 2, in Cha-ri, Duseo-myeon, Ulju-gun, Kyongnam. It has been surveyed that the total number of the practical owners relevant to the ownership is 133 persons. However, the number of the owners is recorded as 55 person in the official documents and there has been a big difference between the number of the practical owners and that of the practical owners and that of the owners in the official documents. As 79 forestowners, 59% of the total forestowners, can not be certainly guaranteed in the execution of their legal rights to the ownership, it could be one of the factors which will hinder the promotion of the investment willingness to forest works. In order to go through with the formality of the ownership registration correspond to reality, some necessary works such as the boundary survey should be followed. Therefore it is required that any governmental or public organizations should take part in technical and financial aids to solve these matters.
To control the growth of Salmonella on raw chicken supplied in food service, they were isolated and analysed for their physiological characteristics. Total viable microbe counts under the skin of the chicken amounted to 10% of numbers on their skin. Fifty one of Salmonella were isolated and identified from 75 chicken carcass samples. About 70% of the isolates showed resistance to more than four antibiotics, which indicated very high resistance among the strains ever reported in Korea. Lactic acid and trisodium phosphate(TSP) as sanitizing agent were applied to the Salmonella spp. isolates by agar diffusion method. The resistance by isolates to those sanitizing agents was compared with type strains of S. typhimurium ATCC 14028, S. typhimurium ATCC 12023, S. heidelberg and S. enteritidis. The isolates showed similar or less resistance to the type strains as for the lactic acid. However, as for trisodium phosphate known recently as a good sanitizer, 50% of the isolates showed more resistant compared with the type strains. Also, the treatment time and regeneration medium affected significantly the resistance of the isolates, which indicates that more careful test might be needed for TSP's practical application to raw chicken. Therefore, From the results, it is suggested that antibiotic treatment during breeding broiler and contamination after slaughtering should be minimized along with careful use of sanitizing agent in order to ensure more safe raw chicken supply.
Recently, school violence has come to the fore as a social phenomenon. "Comprehensive countermeasures for eradication of school violence" as a policy safety are created by Safety Administration bureau and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology under the chairmanship of the Office of Prime Minister on Feb,2012. This policy is supposed to be test-operated for a year from March, 2012. but voices of concern about effectiveness have been brought up by some critics greatly. So 172 teachers in high school in Seoul were surveyed in order to examine the effectiveness of "Comprehensive countermeasures for eradication of school violence" with a questionnaire composed of 5 point Likert-type. Among the fundamental measures, there were a total of 12 countermeasures about 'Practices for personality education' (with the exception of unrelated one question). 'Expanding opportunities of various art education and Supporting reading activities' of them ranked highest on average. Then, 'Reflecting results of special feature related to character develops to the Selection of Admission officers and Self-directed learning was the next. And among the three countermeasures about 'Reinforcement of roles of the family and society', 'Pan governmental conducting annual campaign related to broadcast, press, civic group to combat school violence was highest. Finally, among the 7 countermeasures about 'Countermeasure about harmful factors of games and internet addiction', 'Reinforcement of preventive discipline about game and internet addiction' was highest and 'Development and Promotion of various educational contents for preventive discipline about game and internet addiction' was the next.

Sweetpotato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam] represents an attractive starch crop that can be used to facilitate solving global food and environmental problems in the $21^{st}$ century. It can be used as industrial bioreactors to produce various high value-added materials, including bio-ethanol, functional feed, antioxidants, as well as food resources. The non-profit Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) announced sweetpotato as one of the ten 'super foods' for better health, since it contains high levels of low molecular weight antioxidants such as vitamin-C, vitamin-E and carotenoids, as well as dietary fiber and potassium. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) also reported that sweetpotato is the best bioenergy crop among starch crops on marginal lands, that does not affect food security. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimated that world population in 2050 will be 9.7 billion, and require approximately 1.7 times more food than today. In this respect, sweetpotato will be a solution to solving problems such as food, energy, health, and environment facing the globe in the $21^{st}$ century. In this paper, the current status of resources, and cultivation of sweetpotato in the world was first described. Development of a new northern route of the sweetpotato and its prior tasks of large scale cultivation of sweetpotato, were also described in terms of global food security, and production of high-value added biomaterials.

Site selection processes for high-level radioactive waste disposal facilities in different countries differ in terms of local geology and degree of public engagement. There seem to be three alternative processes for site selection: (1) selection with community consent after government choice; (2) selection with continuous community engagement after exclusion of unsuitable areas based on existing survey data; or (3) site selection where communities have expressed a willingness to participate. The Yucca Mountain site in Nevada, USA, was selected as the final disposal site by process (1) through six stages, but its development was suspended owing to opposition from the local governor and environmental groups. In Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany, process (2) is used and sites are selected through three stages. Sweden and Switzerland have completed site selection, and Germany is currently engaged in the process. The UK adopted process (3) with six stages, although the process has been suspended owing to poor community participation. In Korea, temporary storage facilities for spent nuclear fuel will reach saturation from 2030, so site selection must be promoted through various laws and systems, with continuous communication with local communities based on transparent and scientifically undertaken procedures.
