Predicting link of R&D network to stimulate collaboration among education, industry, and research (산학연 협업 활성화를 위한 R&D 네트워크 연결 예측 연구)

  • The recent global trends display expansion and growing solidity in both cooperative collaboration between industry, education, and research and R&D network systems. A greater support for the network and cooperative research sector would open greater possibilities for the evolution of new scholar and industrial fields and the development of new theories evoked from synergized educational research. Similarly, the national need for a strategy that can most efficiently and effectively support R&D network that are established through the government's R&D project research is on the rise. Despite the growing urgency, due to the habitual dependency on simple individual personal information data regarding R&D industry participants and generalized statistical data references, the policies concerning network system are disappointing and inadequate. Accordingly, analyses of the relationships involved for each subject who is participating in the R&D industry was conducted and on the foundation of an educational-industrial-research network system, possible changes within and of the network that may arise were predicted. To predict the R&D network transitions, Common Neighbor and Jaccard's Coefficient models were designated as the basic foundational models, upon which a new prediction model was proposed to address the limitations of the two aforementioned former models and to increase the accuracy of Link Prediction, with which a comparative analysis was made between the two models. Through the effective predictions regarding R&D network changes and transitions, such study result serves as a stepping-stone for an establishment of a prospective strategy that supports a desirable educational-industrial-research network and proposes a measure to promote the national policy to one that can effectively and efficiently sponsor integrated R&D industries. Though both weighted applications of Common Neighbor and Jaccard's Coefficient models provided positive outcomes, improved accuracy was comparatively more prevalent in the weighted Common Neighbor. An un-weighted Common Neighbor model predicted 650 out of 4,136 whereas a weighted Common Neighbor model predicted 50 more results at a total of 700 predictions. While the Jaccard's model demonstrated slight performance improvements in numeric terms, the differences were found to be insignificant.

  • Nanotechnology(NT) refers to a field of advanced micro-technology covering the creation and manufacturing of materials on the atomic and molecular scale and requires interdisciplinary study with various fields including materials science, physics, chemistry, electronics and others. Whileas nanotechnology is a kind of micro and small scaled science, space technology(ST) is one of the larger and system technologies utilizing broad fields of mechanical, materials, electronics and communication technologies. It is necessary to select and concentrate the functional items of nanotechnology for efficient application to be utilized in space technology, due to the cross-sectional characteristics of nanotechnology within nanomaterials, nanoelectronics, and nanomanufacturing. This paper provides the current state of art of nanotechnology in space technology by evaluating NASA's activities and the 9th frame of the project ANTARES(Analysis of Nanotechnology Applications in Space Developments and Systems) with the support of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Space Flight Management, Division Technology for Space Systems and Robotics. It has shown that it is necessary to apply nanotechnology to space technology in order to achieve international competitiveness, for the nanotechnology can bring the previously impossible things to reality. Since KARI plans to send an unmanned probe to the moon's orbit and land a probe on the moon's surface in 2025, it is urgently needed to incorporate nanotechnology to national space development plan.

The Effects of Self-Resilience and Social Support on School Adjustment of Dormitory High School Students Adaptation in Convergence Age (융복합시대 기숙사 고등학생의 학교적응에 자아탄력성과 사회적 지지가 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to look into the effects of ego-resilience and social support on school adjustment of dormitory high school students in the convergence age. For achieving this purpose, a survey with 358 students in an autonomous private high school situated in D area was conducted. For analysis of the collected data, regression analysis was carried out using SPSS WIN 20.0. As a result, it was found that ego-resilience positively affected school adjustment, and optimism, curiosity and emotional control, which are sub-factors of ego-resilience, positively affected it, too. Also, social support positively influenced school adjustment, and peer support and teacher support that are sub-factors of social support, positively influenced it, too. Therefore, it is considered that developing various programs and school culture for improving ego-resilience and providing social support to prevent a lot of problems caused by school maladjustment of high school students in the digital convergence era will positively influence individual students, schools, families and furthermore general sections of the society, and diverse interdisciplinary convergence studies on this will serve as the foundation for future longitudinal research.

  • This study aims to verify the effect of the strength note program by comparing and analyzing the effect of the strength note program on self-esteem and self-efficacy of university students in Convergence Age. This study targeted 70 male and female university students in G area and the subjects were asked to find their and other people's positive characteristics or strengths once a week and record them. For analysis of the collected data, frequency and percentage analysis and paired-t-test were conducted using SPSS WIN 20.0. As the result, the strength note program significantly influenced the improvement in self-esteem and self-efficacy of university students. This result demonstrates the necessity of the strength note program for improving self-esteem and self-efficacy of university students. Therefore, there is a need to provide a specific and systematic strength note program to help university students get over diverse problems. It is considered that this will help mental health, academic achievement and career search of university students and contribute to the enhancement in happiness and the quality of life. Also it will be the basis for future longitudinal studies through interdisciplinary convergency research.

A comparison study on perception of care robots, digital literacy and empathic ability according to major -in the university students majoring in health and engineering- (전공에 따른 케어 로봇에 대한 인식, 디지털 리터러시 및 공감능력에 대한 비교 연구 -보건계열 및 공학계열 대학생을 대상으로-)

  • This study was aimed to understand the recognition of care robots which would enhance the medical quality of life under the 4th industrial revolution in the university students majoring in health and engineering who would lead the development of the future medical industry and to find out the differences of their digital literacy and empathic ability. This was a descriptive correlation study to analyze the recognition of university students on care robots, their digital literacy and empathic ability. Both students majoring in health and engineering recognized the needs of care robots, while their education experiences were not sufficient. Moreover, statistically fewer university students majoring in health heard about care robots than those in engineering, and their need of taking classes was lower, too. No statistically significant differences were found in digital literacy and empathic ability between the two majors, while significant difference was found in the relationship bundling capability out of behavioral empathy, a sub-domain of empathic ability. The study results are anticipated to suggest the future educational direction in the medical field according to the 4th industrial revolution and to be the fundamental data for understanding and preparation of the students depending on the majors.

A Study on the Research Topics and Trends in Korean Journal of Remote Sensing: Focusing on Natural & Environmental Disasters (토픽모델링을 이용한 대한원격탐사학회지의 연구주제 분류 및 연구동향 분석: 자연·환경재해 분야를 중심으로)

  • Korean Journal of Remote Sensing (KJRS), leading the field of remote sensing and GIS in South Korea for over 37 years, has published interdisciplinary research papers. In this study, we performed the topic modeling based on Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a probabilistic generative model, to identify the research topics and trends using 1) the whole articles, and 2) specific articles related to natural and environmental disasters published in KJRS by analyzing titles, keywords, and abstracts. The results of LDA showed that 4 topics('Polar', 'Hydrosphere', 'Geosphere', and 'Atmosphere') were identified in the whole articles and the topic of 'Polar' was dominant among them (linear slope=3.51 × 10-3, p<0.05) over time. For the specific articles related to natural and environmental disasters, the optimal number of topics were 7 ('Marine pollution', 'Air pollution', 'Volcano', 'Wildfire', 'Flood', 'Drought', and 'Heavy rain') and the topic of 'Air pollution' was dominant (linear slope=2.61 × 10-3, p<0.05) over time. The results from this study provide the history and insight into natural and environmental disasters in KRJS with multidisciplinary researchers.

The Analysis on the Research Trends Related to Shoes Industry in Korea -Focused on the Theses Presented between 2008 and 2017- (신발 분야 관련 국내 연구 동향 분석 -2008~2017년에 발표된 논문을 중심으로-)

  • As the shoes industry has been strengthened due to the contemporary fashion industry becoming segmented more and more, it is necessary to provide the basic data for the shoes industry through more in-depth research on the relevant fields. Accordingly, this study investigated the research trends related to shoes in Korea on the aspect of the publication methods, research contents and research methodologies for identifying the existing research status. In accordance with the analysis, the researches had been published since 2015 and presented by one author or two co-authors. The authors of researches were mostly affiliated to the colleges. Thus, it was identified that the professional research should be implemented in cooperation with the industry. For the research contents, the researches related to the shoes industry focused on the 21st century in the period field and marketing and design in the theme field. Then, it is required to investigate the converged interdisciplinary themes in wider areas in more diverse periods. Next, the case study accounted for the highest ratio in the methodology. Moreover, the methodology applied per theme showed the significant difference. Accordingly, the researches need to be conducted through more diverse viewpoints and methodologies. In case of the difference per research type, the significant difference was found only in the research approaches. Furthermore, the specific methodology was preferred per theme regardless of the research types. Then, it was found that the methodology played the significant role in the researches on the shoes industry.

  • 생태학 분야에서는 생물의 분포, 변동, 서식환경요인의 변화, 등의 여러 종류의 데이터들이 수집되고 있는데 데이터의 형태가 다양하여 데이터의 관리와 활용형태도 다양하게 나타나고 있다. 근래에 들어 각 종 측정기기들이 개발되면서 생태조사 분야에서도 데이터의 양이 급증하는 시점에 있다. 수생태계 분야에서도 전통적인 생물상조사의 데이터는 크게 증가하지 않고 있지만 자동측정센서가 개발된 항목의 경우에는 데이터가 급증하는 단계에 있다. 수생태계에서 흔히 조사되는 플랑크톤의 군집구조 자료를 보면 하나의 조사대상 시료에서 출현하는 종의 수가 50 종정도에 이르며 각 개체의 종을 육안으로 확인하고 있으므로 종조성조사는 아직 자동화가 어렵다. 그러므로 플랑크톤 자료의 특성은 조사의 시료수(case)는 적고 측정항목(변수 variable)이 많은 특성을 가진다. 반면에 센서가 개발된 수질과 관련된 항목들은 자동측정설비가 확대되고 있어 변수는 적지만 장기간의 time series 들이 수집되고 있다. 녹조현상이 관심을 끌면서 여러 곳에 식물플랑크톤의 양을 측정하는 chlorophyll 센서가 설치되고 있는 것이 대표적인 사례이다. 그 외에 정량화되지 못하는 정성적 자료들도 수집되고 있으며 자료수집방법의 표준화도 미흡한 예가 많이 있고, 자료의 형태가 다양하여 데이터의 관리와 활용을 어렵게 한다. 환경부는 전국의 주요 하천 지점에서 정기적으로 수질을 측정하여 공개하고 있으며, 일부 지점에는 자동수질측정시설을 설치하여 측정의 빈도를 높이고 있다. 하천이나 호수에서 센서를 이용한 고빈도 모니터링은 그 동안 인지하지 못하였던 단기적 생태계 변화에 대해 새로운 정보를 제공하여 연구의 장르를 넓혀 가고 있다. 도시하천에서 산소를 측정한 사례를 보면 강우 시에 일시적으로 산소가 고갈되는 현상이 관찰되며, 부영양한 호수와 하천에서는 주야간 산소의 급격한 변동이 생태계 스트레스 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 식물플랑크톤 센서의 연구에 의해 단기적인 변동이 크게 나타나고 있음이 새로이 밝혀지기도 하였다. 데이터의 수집과 활용도를 높이려는 노력도 이루어지고 있다. 과거에는 개인단위로 이루어지던 연구가 이제는 데이터를 수집하고 공유하는 플랫폼이 만들어 지면서 공동연구가 확대되고 있고, 국제적으로 지역을 초월하는 공동연구도 가능하게 되었다. 국제호수관측망학회(Global Lake Ecological Observatory Network, GLEON)이 그 사례이며 세계 여러 나라의 학자들이 참여하여 국제적으로 데이터를 공유하고 공동연구를 촉진하는 역할을 하고 있다. 생태계데이터의 증가는 생태학자들의 연구역량을 초과하는 데이터의 관리와 활용의 능력을 요구할 것이며 환경 생태 IT 분야의 융합연구의 필요성이 크게 대두되고 있다. 그간 데이터베이스의 구축에는 일부 성과가 있었으나 아직 수집된 데이터의 활용도를 높이고 타분야와의 협력연구 시너지를 확대하려는 노력은 부족하다. 이제는 데이터의 수집과 저장뿐 아니라 데이터의 활용도를 높일 수 있도록 학제적 협력연구를 촉진하는 off-line 모임도 확대할 때이다.

A Study on the Trends of Korean Juvenile Gambling (청소년 도박의 국내 연구동향 분석)

  • This paper analyzed the research trends of juvenile gambling, which is increasing due to recent changes in the internet environment. The number of domestic studies on juvenile gambling has increased, but there are few studies that analyzed both degrees and academic papers in a more comprehensive manner than addiction to the Internet, games, and drugs related to youth. The current state of juvenile gambling can lead to secondary crimes, such as illegal loans and thefts for gambling funds beyond the level of addiction, school violence and money extortion, which have been a major shock to Korean society. Therefore, it is urgent to prepare social measures because the age of adolescents who are exposed to gambling is becoming lower. Accordingly, this study analyzed 52 dissertations, 86 academic papers, and three other research reports published in Korea from 2003 to March 2020. As a result, quantitative research, research subjects, and research topics were concentrated, and there was a limit to generalization. In addition, these results will provide rich information to future studies by confirming the academic characteristics according to the times and interdisciplinary research trends that transcend individual science areas.

Comparative Analysis of Training Systems and Curriculums of Early Childhood Educators in Korea and France (한국과 프랑스의 유아교사 양성제도 및 교육내용에 대한 비교 분석)

  • This research aims to review the training systems and curriculums of early childhood educators in Korea and France and seek directions to improve teachers training in Korea. To achieve the research purpose, this article compares three criteria, namely teacher training institutes, training systems, and curriculums based on the legal systems of Korea and France. Below are the summaries of the comparison. First, the training for teachers in France is carried out by the INSPÉ, the state-level single training system, for those who have bachelor's degrees. Second, the second year INSPÉ students or preliminary teachers take national teacher qualification tests. If they pass the tests, they are sent to the teaching fields as licensed teachers. Third, there are 3-year scholarship programs and support for practicums as part of the INSPÉ curriculum through the teacher support system in France to select highly qualified teachers. Fourth, the French curriculums prioritize basic knowledge skills, integration of school systems, teaching practicum experiences that are tied to the teaching fields, and research and analysis of practicum experiences.
