  • The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship among the self-directed learning ability, academic self-efficacy and academic achievement of elementary school students. The subjects of this study were 197 sixth graders. The results of this study were as follows. First, the correlations among self-directed learning ability, academic self-efficacy and academic achievement were significant. Second, among the variables of self-directed learning ability and academic self-efficacy, self-confidence, preference for task difficulty, self-understanding of learner and independent mind of learning were positively related to academic achievement. These results imply the need for measures to increase these variables of academic efficacy and self-directed learning ability in the field of education in order to improve students' academic achievement.

  • This study intended to find out an efficient teaching-learning method by identifying the effect of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning strategy on the level of learning achievement in class. This study analyzed the relationship between the achievement goal directivity and the average and standard deviation of self-regulated learning strategy as well as the relationship between the achievement goal directivity and the learning achievement of self-regulated learning strategy and also analyzed the effect of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning strategy on the level of learning achievement, based on the result of survey targeting 133 university students attending the Department of Social Welfare. The findings show that the higher the tendency of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning ability, the higher the academic performance, which means that it is necessary to resolve any anxiety through motivation control training and mentoring learning for academic achievement of students and inducing their proactive participation in class.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine moderating effect of academic self-efficacy and learning flow between social presence and academic achievement of cyber university students. For this purpose, the 371 students of W cyber university were participated in the web-survey system for two weeks at the end of second semester in 2011. The results of this study through hierarchical multiple regression analysis indicated that social presence significantly predicted on academic achievement. Academic self-efficacy was not significant moderating variable between social presence and academic achievement. And Learning flow was used as a significant moderated variable in the relationships among social presence and academic achievement. Based on these study results, effective management strategies for improving cyber university students' academic achievement were proposed.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the causal relationship among perceived instrumentality, mastery goal orientation, self-regulated learning and academic achievement in cyber education. 317 current students of the W cyber university participated in the study. The results of structural equation modeling analysis are as follows: First, endogenous instrumentality affects mastery goal orientation. Second, mastery goal orientation affects self-regulated learning. Third, while exogenous instrumentality had negative effect on academic achievement, self-regulated learning was the only variable that had positive effect on academic achievement. In addition, the result indicated that endogenous instrumentality had indirect effect on academic achievement and self-regulated learning mediated between mastery goal orientation and academic achievement.

  • This study aims to provide basic data for improving academic self-efficacy by identifying the mediating effect of teacher support and the moderating effect of growth mindset in the impact of academic burnout on academic self-efficacy. The subjects of the survey were 300 college students majoring in stomatology and stomatology technology in Guangzhou Medical College who were intentionally sampled from a university in Guangdong, China. Data was collected using an online questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS PC+ Win. ver. 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro ver. 4.2. The statistical techniques used were descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and indirect effect and conditional direct effect analysis. The research results are as follows. First, academic burnout showed a significant negative correlation with teacher support, growth mindset, and academic self-efficacy. Teacher support showed a significant positive correlation with growth mindset and academic self-efficacy. Second, in the relationship between academic burnout and academic self-efficacy, teacher support played a mediating role, and growth mindset played a moderating role. To improve academic self-efficacy, this study proposed ways to utilize teacher support to offset and growth mindset to buffer the impact of academic burnout on academic self-efficacy.
