  • 동영상 강의는 시간이나 장소 등에 크게 구애받지 않고 인터넷을 통하여 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 간편한 학습방법중의 하나이다. 그러나 학습자의 학습자세와 태도에 따라 학습효과는 매우 다를 수 있는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 입력영상으로부터 학습자의 얼굴정보를 입력받아 주기적으로 탐색하여 학습자의 강의에 대한 집중도와 충실도를 평가하는 시스템을 제안하고자 하였다. 먼저 입력영상의 분할된 중심영역으로부터 학습자의 얼굴을 포함하는 신체정보를 입력받아 사용하였으며, 빠르고 효율적인 얼굴영역의 추출을 위하여 피부색상(skin-color)정보와 얼굴의 지역적 특성을 이용하는 방법을 사용하였다. 또한 주기적으로 입력되는 영상의 빠른 얼굴추적을 위하여 설정된 영역들로부터 구성되는 블록들의 위치와 구성정보를 이용한 블록탐색 기법을 사용하였다.

Effect of text and image presenting method on Chinese college students' learning flow, learning satisfaction and learning outcome in video learning environment (중국대학생 동영상 학습에서 텍스트 제시방식과 이미지 제시방식이 학습몰입, 학습만족, 학업성취에 미치는 효과)

  • This study analyzes the effects of text and image presenting methods in video lectures on students' learning flow, learning satisfaction and learning outcomes. The text presenting methods include forming short sentences of 2 or 3 words or using key words, while image presenting methods include images featuring both detailed and related information as well as images containing only related information. 167 first year students from Xingtai University were selected as experimental participants. Groups of participants were randomly assigned to engage in four types of video. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that learning flow, learning satisfaction and learning outcomes of group presented with video forms of short sentences had higher statistical significance compared to the group experiencing the key word method. Second, learning flow, learning satisfaction and learning outcomes of group presented with video forms of only related information had higher statistical significance compared to the group experiencing the presenting method of both detailed and related information. That is, the mean values of dependent variables for groups of short form text and only related information were highest. In contrast, the mean values of dependent variables for groups of key words and both detailed and related information were the lowest.

  • As online learning forms centered on video lectures become more common and constantly increasing, the video-based learning environment applying various educational methods is also changing and developing to enhance learning effectiveness. Learner's log data has emerged for measuring the effectiveness of education in the online learning environment, and various analysis methods of log data are important for learner's customized learning prescriptions. To this end, the study analyzed learner behavior data and predictions of achievement by machine learning in video-based learning environments. As a result, interactive behaviors such as video navigation and comment writing, and learner-led learning behaviors predicted achievement in common in each model. Based on the results, the study provided implications for the design of the video learning environment.

An Image Processing Learning System with An Actual Practice (현장실습이 가능한 영상처리 학습 시스템)

  • In order to understand the concepts of image processing with effect, a learning system with an actual practice is necessary. As most image processing learning materials have some inconvenient respects that it is difficult to understand the processing procedure because they simply show the processed results as figures in the contents, and also, a separate practice tool is needed to operate the source codes because they provide the program source codes as a part in the context. In this paper, in order to solve above inconvenient respects, an image processing learning system that be able to improve the learning effects as accomplishing the theory studying and the actual practice in parallel is proposed. As this system is composed on the bases of java, it is independent to the platforms and it is possible to implement on the Web.

Extraction of Study Regions from Lecture Video Using Edge and Color Information (에지와 색상 정보를 이용한 강의 영상의 학습 영역 추출)

  • 본 논문에서는 강의 영상에 포함되어 있는 텍스트 정보를 바탕으로 학습에 의미 있는 영역을 추출한다. 실시간으로 입력되는 컬러 영상에서 Canny 연산자를 이용하여 에지 정보를 구하고, 모폴로지 연산(Morphological Operation)과 연결 성분(Connected Component)을 통해 후보 영역을 검색한다. 그리고 검색된 후보 영역내의 색 정보 분석을 통해서 의미 있는 학습 영역을 추출하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 학습에 의미 있는 영역을 추출한 결과, 비교적 단순한 강의 영상과 복잡한 강의 영상 모두에서 정확한 학습 영역의 추출이 가능함을 알 수 있고, 학습에 의미 있는 정보만을 구성함으로써 적은 용량으로 최적화된 강의 영상을 제공할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있다.

Face Recognition Using a Phase Difference for Images (영상의 위상 차를 이용한 얼굴인식)

  • This paper proposes an efficient face recognition system using phase difference between the face images. We use a Karhunen-Loeve transform for image compression and reconstruction, and obtain the phase difference by using normalized inner product of the two compressed images. The proposed system is rotation and light-invariant due to using the normalized phase difference, and somewhat shift-invariant due to applying the cosine function. The faster recognition than the conventional system and incremental training is possible in the proposed system. Simulations are conducted on the ORL images of 40 persons, in which each person has 10 facial images, and the result shows that the faster recognition than conventional recognizer using convolution network under the same recognition error rate of 8% does.

  • Video-demand learning through E-learning continuously increases on these days. However, not all video-demand learning systems can be utilized properly. When students study by education videos not matched to level of their own, it is possible for them to lose interest in learning. It causes to reduce the learning efficiency. In order to solve the problem, we need to develop a recommendation system which recommends customized education videos according the study levels of students. In this paper, we estimate the study level based on the history of students' watching behaviors such as average watching time, skipping and rewinding of videos. In the experimental section, we demonstrate our recommendation system using real students' video watching history to show that our system is feasible in a practical environment.

  • 비대면 교육이 증가함에 따라 강의, 특강과 같은 정보성 동영상의 수가 급격히 많아지고 있다. 이러한 정보성 동영상을 보아야 하는 학습자들은 자원과 시간을 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 동영상 이해 및 학습 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 GPT-3 모델과 KoNLPy 사용하여 동영상 요약을 수행하고 키워드 기반 해당 영상 프레임으로 바로 갈 수 있는 시스템의 개발내용에 대해 기술한다. 이를 통해 동영상 콘텐츠를 효과적으로 활용하여 학습자들의 학습 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 학습자가 직접 영상처리를 실행시켜 결과를 확인할 수 있는 인터넷상의 영상처리 교육시스템에 대하여 논하였다. 이 시스템은 클라이언트의 이미지와 학습자가 원하는 값을 입력하여 영상처리를 행함으로써 일방적인 정보전달 방식을 벗어나 상호 대화적인 학습이 가능하다. 또한 클라이언트가 자체적으로 영상처리를 행함으로써 서버와의 이미지정보 전송에 소요되는 시간을 상당량 단축할 수 있고, 이미지 처리 및 전송에 의한 서버의 부하를 줄일 수 있다. 향후 본 영상처리 교육시스템에 영상의 실시간 결합하면 더욱 효과적인 교육매체가 될 것이다.

Development and Evaluation of Video English Dictionary for Silver Generation (실버세대를 위한 동영상 영어사전의 개발 및 평가)

  • Based on the analysis of physical and learning characteristics and requirements of the silver generation, a video English dictionary was developed and evaluated as English learning contents. The video English dictionary was developed using OCR as an input method and video as an output method, and 17 silver generations were evaluated for academic achievement, learning satisfaction, and ease of use. As a result of the analysis, both the text English dictionary and the video English dictionary showed high learning satisfaction, but the video English dictionary showed higher results than the text English dictionary in an academic achievement and ease of use.
