This corpus-driven research expounded the compilation of the most frequently occurring academic words in the domain of syntax and compared the extracted wordlist with Academic Word List(AWL) of Coxhead(2000) and General Service List(GSL) of West(1953) to examine their distribution and coverage within the syntax corpus. A specialized 546,074 token corpus, composed of widely used must-read syntax textbooks for English education majors, was loaded into and analyzed with AntWordProfiler 1.4.1. Under the parameter of lexical frequency, the analysis identified 288(50.5%) AWL word forms, appeared 16 times or more, as well as 218(38.2%) AWL items, occurred not exceeding 15 times. The analysis also indicated that the coverage of AWL and GSL accounted for 9.19% and 78.92% respectively and the combination of GSL and AWL amounted to 88.11% of all tokens. Given that AWL can be instrumental in serving broad disciplinary needs, this study highlighted the necessity to compile the domain-specific AWL as a lexical repertoire to promote academic literacy and competence.

In this paper, we proposes to develop an online academic vocabulary dictionary as a way of educating academic vocabulary for content-oriented Korean language education. Various academic languages exist in the content-based Korean language teaching materials they encounter when studying at university. You cannot understand or produce academic text without knowing the academic vocabulary. Therefore, one of the tasks of Korean language education has become to improve educational efficiency by preparing a method for academic vocabulary education that is most suitable for them in consideration of their own. Prior to the development of the online academic vocabulary dictionary, the institute conducted a basic study on how the content should be contained in the online dictionary. Online academic vocabulary dictionaries allow students to naturally link their limited education into and out of the classroom, thereby overcoming the limitations of vocabulary education at the educational scene and maximizing their educational effectiveness.

The aim of this research is the development and evaluation of a technical vocabulary list for early childhood education. The list was compiled from a corpus of 500,000 running words of written academic texts from 7 books about early childhood education. The distribution of GSL[1] and AWL[2] was 81.86% and 9.78% respectively, which meant that academic texts related to early childhood education is very similar with ones on other disciplines. The technical vocabulary list for early childhood education (TV4ECE), extracted in terms of frequency and range, contains 224 types. This word list can be used to teach early childhood education in English, especially for the preparation of reading the English texts in the field of early childhood education.

본 연구에서는 청각장애인용 통신보조기기에 적용하기 위한 어휘예측 시스템의 기본구조를 제안한다. 통신보조기기의 어휘는 사용자의 환경을 고려한 어휘이므로, 어휘 예측 시스템도 사용자의 환경과 실생활에서 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 방향으로 고안되어야 한다. 따라서 어휘예측 시스템은 사용자의 환경을 정의하고, 중심어휘와 장소별 도메인에서의 어휘를 발췌한다. 발췌된 어휘는 말뭉치와 의미함축의 원리를 이용하여 분류한다. 분류된 어휘는 문법적 지식을 바탕으로 가상 네트워크를 구성한다. 가상네트워크에서의 어휘는 명사, 조사, 동사의 3부분으로 나눈 후 의미함축과 말뭉치로부터 파생된 어휘를 근접한 거리에 위치시킨다. 동일한 네트워크상에서 어휘의 위치는 문법적 연관성, 빈도수 등을 이용하여 정한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 어휘예측은 명사, 조사, 동사에서 가장 근접한 어휘를 연결하여 간단한 문장을 작성할 수 있는 어휘 예측 시스템의 기본구조를 제안한다.

This study aims to functionally classify lexical bundles appearing in academic papers on nuclear science and engineering written in English and then analyze the lexical bundles' characteristics compared to those appearing in general academic papers. To this end, the texts of nuclear science and engineering papers were collected and produced as a corpus(c. 1 mil. tokens). Then they were statistically compared through Chi-square tests and standardized residuals with the corpus of general academic papers(c. 750,000 tokens). The results revealed that, compared to general academic papers, the bundles in the stance lexical bundle category were mainly used among the functional lexical bundle in nuclear science and engineering. The use of the lexical bundles lacked much variety. The same type of lexical bundles was 're-used' and 'recycled'. Based on these research results, educational implications for English for Academic Purposes and the further direction of follow-up research were discussed and suggested.

영어 교육 시장이 증대되면서 영어 학습을 효과적으로 지원하는 다양한 학습 시스템들이 개발되고 있다. 영어문장을 구성하는 기본적인 단위는 어휘로 문장 전체의 의미를 파악하기 위해서는 어휘의 의미를 이해하는 것이 필수적이다. 따라서 영어 어휘 능력 향상을 위한 다양한 영어 어휘 학습 시스템들이 개발되고 있으나, 어휘가 사용되는 문맥을 고려하거나 동시에 학습하면 효과적인 어휘 등 어휘 학습에 효과적인 교수학습 방법의 원리가 적용된 영어 어휘 학습 시스템에 대한 연구는 미비한 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 n 개의 영어 단어가 하나의 그룹으로 동시에 제시되면서 그 n개의 영어 단어가 모두 포함된 예문을 제공하는 지능형 영어 어휘 학습 시스템을 설계한다. 임의로 n 개의 영어 어휘가 주어졌을 경우 문맥에 맞게 영어 예문을 자동으로 생성하는 지능형 영어 문장 생성 모델이 본 연구의 핵심이다. 또한, 어휘 능력 평가에서 기존 어휘 학습 시스템과 같이 단순히 어휘를 얼마나 암기하고 있는지에 대한 평과 결과만을 제시하는 것이 아니라, 그룹별 취약 어휘 분석을 통해 효과적인 그룹 어휘 선택 규칙을 파악할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 지능형 영어 어휘 학습 시스템을 통해 영어 어휘 학습자들의 학습 능력 향상에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

본 연구에서는 이미 만들어진 양국어 단일 언어 어휘 분류체계를 이용하여 양국어 어휘 분류등급 간의 개념유사도에 의한 양국어 분류체계간의 연관 관계를 구축하고자 한다. 중국어 유의어사전과 한국어 분류어휘표를 이용하여 양국어 어휘 분류체계에서의 분류등급 간의 개념유사성 및 양국어간의 어휘 유사성에 의하여 어휘분류망을 자동 구축한다. 자동 구축된 어휘분류망을 통하여 한국어 분류어휘표의 어휘 구성 및 분류체계에 대한 분석 평가를 진행할 것이며 나아가 한국어 분류어휘표에 대한 어휘 및 분류체계에 대한 보완을 시도하고자 한다. 본 연구는 한국어 자체 어휘 분류체계의 구축 방법론의 연구에도 어느 정도 도움될 것으로 기대한다.

본 연구에서는 직물 디자인의 시각적 요소와 관련된 감성 모형을 제안하고, 아울러 감성 모형을 구성하는 과정에서 사용될 수 있ㅅ는 대안적인 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 설문 조사와 관련 잡지, 신문, 사전 등을 통한 광범위한 어휘 수집이 이뤄졌으며 수집된 어휘는 1,000여 개였다. 수집된 어휘에 대해 이해도 및 적절성 평가를 실시하여 직물 제품과 관련된 감성을 표현하기에 부적절하거나 이해하기 어려운 어휘들을 제거하여 360개의 감성 어휘로 정리하였다. 사용 빈도가 높은 어휘 108개를 이용하여 자유 연상과제를 실시하였으며 그결과 어휘들 간 관계에 대한 연결망을 그려낼 수 있었다. 어휘망에서 중심적인 대표어 역할을 하는 18개 어휘를 추출하여 1차로 유사성평정을 실시하였으며 다차원 척도법으로 분석한 결과 어휘들 간 관계를 표현하기 위해 필요한 차원은 네 개였다. 1차로 구성된 모형의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 추가로 각각 20개씩의 어휘를 새로이 추출하여 2회에 걸쳐 유사성 평정을 실시한 결과, 직물 디자인의 시각적 요소와 관련된 감성을 모형화하기 위해서는 세 개차원이면 충분하다고 생각된다.

본 논문은 어휘독립(Vocabulary-Independent) 환경에서 별도의 훈련과정 없이 인식대상 어휘를 추가 및 변경할 수 있는 가변어휘(Variable Vocabulary) 음성인식에 관한 연구를 다룬다. 가변어휘 인식은 처음에 대용량 음성 데이터베이스(DB)로 음소모델을 훈련하고 인식대상 어휘가 결정되면 발음사전에 의거하여 음소모델을 연결함으로써 별도의 훈련과정 없이 인식대상 어휘를 변경 및 추가할 수 있다. 문맥 종속형(Context-Dependent) 음소 모델인 triphone을 사용하여 인식실험을 하였고, 인식성능의 비교를 위해 어휘종속 모델을 별도로 구성하여 인식실험을 하였다. Unseen triphone 문제와 훈련 DB의 부족으로 인한 모델 파라메터의 신뢰성 저하를 방지하기 위해 state-tying 방법 중 음성학적 지식에 기반을 둔 tree-based clustering(TBC) 기법[1]을 도입하였다. Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficient(MFCC)와 대수에너지에 기반을 둔 3 가지 음성특징 벡터를 사용하여 인식 실험을 병행하였고, 연속 확률분포를 가지는 Hidden Markov Model(HMM) 기반의 고립단어 인식시스템을 구현하였다. 인식 실험에는 22 개 부서명 DB[3]를 사용하였다. 실험결과 어휘독립 환경에서 최고 98.4%의 인식률이 얻어졌으며, 어휘종속 환경에서의 인식률 99.7%에 근접한 성능을 보였다.

영어 교육 시장 확대로 다양한 영어 학습 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 그러나 어휘의 문맥적 이해와 효과적인 학습 방법을 결합한 지능형 어휘 학습 시스템에 대한 연구는 미비하다. 본 연구에서는 임의의 n 개 영어 단어가 한 그룹으로 제시되고, 이들을 모두 포함한 예문을 제공하는 지능형 영어 어휘 학습 시스템을 개발한다. 본 연구에서는 임의의 n 개 영어 단어가 주어졌을 때 문맥에 맞는 영어 예문을 자동으로 생성하는 모델을 개발하였다. 어휘 평가를 바탕으로 자동으로 취약 어휘를 선정하며 학습자들이 해당 어휘를 학습 할 수 있도록 진행한다. 본 연구에서 개발한 지능형 영어 어휘 학습 시스템의 사용성 평가를 위해 설문 검사를 실시하였다. 설문 결과는 문맥 및 어휘 그룹 기반의 지능형 영어 학습 시스템은 사용자들이 사용하기 편리하고 어휘 능력을 향상시키는데 도움이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.
