  • The purpose of this study is to examine not only students' cognition in the mathematical error-finding activity of the concept of irrational numbers, but also the students' learning stance regarding the use of errors and a teacher's questioning strategies that lead to changes in the level of mathematical discourse. To this end, error-finding individual activities, group activities, and additional interviews were conducted with 133 middle school students, and students' cognition and the teacher's questioning strategies for changes in students' learning stance and levels of mathematical discourse were analyzed. As a result of the study, students' cognition focuses on the symbolic representation of irrational numbers and the representation of decimal numbers, and they recognize the existence of irrational numbers on a number line, but tend to have difficulty expressing a number line using figures. In addition, the importance of the teacher's leading and exploring questioning strategy was observed to promote changes in students' learning stance and levels of mathematical discourse. This study is valuable in that it specified the method of using errors in mathematics teaching and learning and elaborated the teacher's questioning strategies in finding mathematical errors.

  • This study compares the perceptions of elementary gifted child and science teacher in a science class for the gifted. In order to explore the research problem, students and teachers answered a written semi-structured questionnaire and participated in interviews regarding the gifted science class. The data was collected and analyzed. Science teachers recognized the characteristics of a good science class, especially in terms of educational content and teaching methodology. First, they suggested promoting inquiry skills, presenting a challenging task in atypical topic selection, student-centered curriculum, and controlling the pace of learning to recognize individual differences. Second, in terms of the science class skills and attitudes category, teachers recommended raising mutual satisfaction through vigorous interaction within a permissible atmosphere. Finally, science teachers need to strive for continued professional growth. Gifted children, meanwhile, want to investigate a wide range of topics without time constraints. Additionally, they may have to explore challenging topics further. They prefer to act like scientists in that they enjoy group activities, communication and cooperation. In particular, they want to be evaluated by others in a totally embedded assessment. Gifted children also expect teachers to understand the life circumstances and needs of the students. In addition, they asked for teachers to respect individual experiments and to show them how to safely use new equipment or research methods. As a result, gifted children and science teachers have to recognize the differences of opinion concerning a good science class for the gifted. This study can help formulate strategies to establish quality management of materials in gifted science classes.

This research was based on the requirement criteria of home economics teacher developed by Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation(KICE) Korean Home Economics Education Association(2008)(KHEEA) collected from secondary, upper secondary school home economics teachers and students in Jeollabuk-do. RCHET encompasses the six areas : (l)'Expert of lesson related to evaluation' (2)'Efficient manager of diverse materials for study', (3)'Student advisor equipped with a teaching sense of duty and sound humanity', (4)'Curriculum expert equipped with a expertise knowledge', (5)'A fair and democratic schoolroom environment promoter'. (6)'Career path counselling expert understanding student's characteristics and environments'. Through the factor analysis, six RCHET factors are more important to teachers than students. According to importance perception for RCHET, home economics teachers' qualification for minor second subject and participation of training program showed similar differences statistically in all RCHET factors. Thus, effort for expertise improvement of teacher had important influence on expertise improvement of teacher. As a result of examining the differences from importance evaluation for RCHET, similar differences from frequence of home project, preference of home economics teacher, manual training and home economics score, interest of home economics showed statistically.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the link between school's educational information technology level and ict literacy level of students in elementary school. Specially we concerned about the link between principal's awareness of ict and ict literacy level of students. This ICT literacy levels were measured by sampling 1%(12,759 students) of the entire school year for elementary school 4-6. The educational information technology level of sample student's school was extracted from the Ministry of Education data. Then the two materials was analyzed in conjunction with each other. As a result, Higher recognize of principal, higher ict literacy level of students. That is sure in human realm. But that is difficult to conclude in ict infra and ict using realms. According to this result, it is more important to develop ability and awareness of teacher for ict than to support building of ict infra and using of ict. Therefore, we need to make a plan to develop ability and awareness of teacher for ict with building of ict infra.

  • This study investigated three $10^{th}$ grade students' concept of rate of change while they perceived changing values of given functions. We have conducted a teaching experiment consisting of 6 teaching episodes on how the students understood and expressed changing values of functions on certain intervals in accordance with the concept of rate of change. The result showed that the students did use the same word of 'rate of change' in their analysis of functions, but their understanding and expression of the word varied, which turned out to have diverse perceptions with regard to average rate of change. To consider these differences as qualitatively different levels might need further research, but we expect that this research will serve as a foundational study for further research in students' learning 'differential calculus' from the perspective of rate of change.

  • We have developed art and career convergence class for career recognition through drawing a neighborhood job map. Thus, we want to expand the students' career recognition. 3 Classes were conducted in 16 elementary school students from 5th to 6th. Through pre & post-questionnaire, and the interviews with the students' work, job recognition with job value and job prejudice, self-understanding and career attitude were analyzed. As follows. First, students' job recognition was expanded. The ability to identify the needs, values and purposes of jobs has improved. Changes in job values that all jobs are worth have occurred and job bias has changed. Second, the career attitude changed on the basis of self-understanding. Thus, in the context of deciding the job demanded by the society rather than the student's will, art and career convergence class was effective in career recognition.

  • NEIS (National Education Information SystTem) provides educational information to parents while students are not able to have the direct access to their own academic information. Students filed their request to the National Human Right Agency. The objective of this study is to investigate the feasibility of students direct access to their own information and how to do it. In detail, online survey was conducted from 3,300 students, teachers and parents who are the stake holders of student information service on NEIS regarding whether they are for it, if so how to do it. The result indicated that students, parents and teachers are all positive in that order. It is unexpected that teachers who need to input and are responsible for the accuracy and reliability for student information are also for it. Although the human right law suggests all students have the right to direct access to their own information, the order of operation can be from secondary school level if the operation can not be done all at the same time. The range of information provided through this service is in principle the same as what parents can access except the counseling information.
