Programming education plays a very effective role in comprehensively learning problem analysis ability, logical thinking ability, procedural problem solving method, and imaginary problem solving method. Until recently, however, it is not applied to the elementary and the middle school in Korea, which is very different from the other IT centerd countries such as the U.S., etc., where coding class is actively implemented. Fortunately, Korean government recognized this reality and decided to implement programming education as a regular subject in the elementary school from 2017. In this situation, many researchers' programming education model research is urgently required for the students to learn in the elementary and the middle school. This research developed and suggested 17 sessions of programing education model connected with scratch language and sensor board, which is hardware, to be applied to the class of the 5th and 6th graders. As the result of implementing the joint class of 5th and 6th graders during the after-school class based on programming education process suggested to verify the suitability for elementary school programing education, satisfactory achievement was attained by the assessed students. The researcher plans to develop an optimum model proper for the elementary school students' intellectual capacity by more improving programming education model.
The purpose of this study was to develop and apply three types SMART instructional modules about the mineral resources and investigate its effect. One hundred students in the experimental group and 111 students in the control group from 6 classes in the $1^{st}$ year of a girl's high school participated in this study. One unit of tablet PC was provided to every two students in the experimental group and three types of SMART classes were implemented in class. Teacher-centered traditional classes were carried out for the control group. The instrument designed to assess the level of students' interest in mineral resources consisted of 10 items using 5-point Likert scale. To investigate the level of students' understanding, 15 items were developed on the mineral, mineral deposits, and the development of mineral resources. In addition, the participants were asked to describe advantages and disadvantages of the classes using the SMART modules. Results are as follows. First, participants in the experimental group showed a significantly higher level of interest on the mineral and the mineral learning than those in the control group. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of the desire to observe minerals and rocks. Second, students in the experimental group showed a higher level of understanding than the control group. The students with higher learning ability showed a significantly higher level of understanding than the lower group students. Third, the participants pointed out that the advantage of the SMART instructional modules was their experience in searching the relevant information and producing diverse outputs about mineral resource. On the contrary, the difficulties in coordinating opinions and decision making due to the excessive quantity of information were perceived as the disadvantage.
Recently, school violence has come to the fore as a social phenomenon. "Comprehensive countermeasures for eradication of school violence" as a policy safety are created by Safety Administration bureau and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology under the chairmanship of the Office of Prime Minister on Feb,2012. This policy is supposed to be test-operated for a year from March, 2012. but voices of concern about effectiveness have been brought up by some critics greatly. So 172 teachers in high school in Seoul were surveyed in order to examine the effectiveness of "Comprehensive countermeasures for eradication of school violence" with a questionnaire composed of 5 point Likert-type. Among the fundamental measures, there were a total of 12 countermeasures about 'Practices for personality education' (with the exception of unrelated one question). 'Expanding opportunities of various art education and Supporting reading activities' of them ranked highest on average. Then, 'Reflecting results of special feature related to character develops to the Selection of Admission officers and Self-directed learning was the next. And among the three countermeasures about 'Reinforcement of roles of the family and society', 'Pan governmental conducting annual campaign related to broadcast, press, civic group to combat school violence was highest. Finally, among the 7 countermeasures about 'Countermeasure about harmful factors of games and internet addiction', 'Reinforcement of preventive discipline about game and internet addiction' was highest and 'Development and Promotion of various educational contents for preventive discipline about game and internet addiction' was the next.
This paper explores students' question generation process and their study in small group discussion. The research is based on Anthropological Theory of the Didactic developed by Chevallard. He argues that the savior (knowledge) we are dealing with at school is based on a paradigm that we prevail over whether we 'learn' or 'study' socially. In other words, we haven't provided students with autonomous research and learning opportunities under 'the dominant paradigm of visiting works'. As an alternative, he suggests that we should move on to a new didactic paradigm for 'questioning the world a question', and proposes the Study and Research Courses (SRC) as its pedagogical structure. This study explores the SRC structure of small group activities in solving ill-structured problems. In order to explore the SRC structure generated in the small group discussion, one middle school teacher and 7 middle school students participated in this study. The students were divided into two groups with 4 students and 3 students. The teacher conducted the lesson with ill-structured problems provided by researchers. We collected students' presentation materials and classroom video records, and then analyzed based on SRC structure. As a result, we have identified that students were able to focus on the valuable information they needed to explore. We found that the nature of the questions generated by students focused on details more than the whole of the problem. In the SRC course, we also found pattern of a small group discussion. In other words, they generated questions relatively personally, but sought answer cooperatively. This study identified the possibility of SRC as a tool to provide a holistic learning mode of small group discussions in small class, which bring about future mathematics classrooms. This study is meaningful to investigate how students develop their own mathematical inquiry process through self-directed learning, learner-specific curriculum are emphasized and the paradigm shift is required.
In this paper, we analyzed the utilization trend of technology in the secondary mathematics textbooks based on the 6th, 7th and 2007 revised mathematics curriculums in Korea. We analyzed 30, 60 and 90 mathematics books based on the 6th, 7th and 2007 revised mathematics curriculums respectively. The analysis focused on three aspects of using technology, i.e., contents areas in which technology used, technological tools and programs used, and methods of using technology in teaching and learning mathematics. The results shows that the frequency of using technology in mathematics books has been increased as mathematics curriculum has been revised. In the mathematics books based on th 6th curriculum, only 25 scenes were found, but in 7th and 2007 revised curriculum 248 and 355 scenes were found. In the 6th curriculum, calculators and graphing calculators were used mainly, but in the 7th and 2007 revised curriculum many kinds of technological tools and softwares were used including CAS, dynamic geometry software, spreadsheets, programming language, and the Internet. Especially the internet was used frequently in the 7th curriculum. And the methods of using technology has been diversified as time passed. In the 6th curriculum, the technology mainly used for introducing technology and simple calculation, but in the 7th and 2007 revised curriculum the technologies and software were also used for understanding mathematical laws, principles and concepts and students-centered exploring the mathematical properties.

This study examined the pathological phenomenon of smartphone addiction and prevention. The smartphone provides many conveniences but it also brings psychological and physical problems, such as failure of learning capacity, maladjustment, and impulsive actions. To provide actual proof, this material included correlation analysis among physical, verbal aggression and smartphone addiction factors through high school students. Using SPSSWIN 22.0, frequency analysis, mail factor analysis, T-test, correlation analysis, regression analysis were also included. The main factors of smartphone addiction discrimination were divided into 'aim for imaginary', 'daily obstacles', 'tolerance', 'withdrawal symptom'. Smartphone addicted group members show the result of r=0.668 (physical aggression), r=0.704 (verbal aggression), r=0.481 (hostility). (p< 0.001). This study focused on the aggression from smartphone overuse and the positive effect of music for adolescent's mind stability. Moreover, suggestions for constant research on the pathological phenomena from smartphone addiction and prevention programs are made.

This study attempted to understand the characteristics of images of scientific experiments represented and consumed on YouTube, a representative of today's new media. In particular, this paper analyzes the case studies of YouTube's hydrogen peroxide decomposition experiment based on Baudrillard's theory of Simulation and Simulacra, which discusses the strong status of images and the ambiguity of the boundary between virtual and reality. A total of 14 YouTube videos related to hydrogen peroxide decomposition experiments were analyzed. In those videos, hydrogen peroxide decomposition experiments were typically conducted with several signs representing scientific experiments, but the most important sign in the videos were bubbles produced through experiments. For more public consumption of the content, the bubbles resulted from hydrogen peroxide decomposition reproduced in YouTube have been transformed into a more spectacular image as 'super-huge' and 'explosive' bubble. Considering the influence of new media that can be accessed by students anytime and anywhere, it is positive that science experiments in new media enhance students' intimacy and access to science. At the same time, however, it is also important to note the danger that the purpose of scientific experiments will be limited to only 'showing specular images', due to the nature of new media, which mainly deals with immediate and superficial images. Furthermore, this study argues that improving students' science media literacy is required to critically examine the science-related images represented in the new media based on understanding the characteristics and limitations of new media that deeply affect daily life.

Looking at the understanding of scientific concepts from a linguistic perspective, it is very important for students to develop a deep and sophisticated understanding of words used in scientific concept as well as the ability to use them correctly. This study intends to provide the basis for productive knowledge education of scientific words by noting that the foundation of productive knowledge teaching on scientific words is not well established, and by exploring ways to teach the relationship among words that constitute scientific concept in a productive and effective manner. To this end, we extracted the relationship among the words that make up the scientific concept from the text of science textbook by using quantitative text analysis methods, second, qualitatively examined the meaning of the word relationship extracted as a result of each method, and third, we proposed a writing activity method to help improve the productive knowledge of scientific concept words. We analyzed the text of the "Force and motion" unit on first grade science textbook by using four methods of quantitative linguistic analysis: word cluster, co-occurrence, text network analysis, and word-embedding. As results, this study suggests four writing activities, completing sentence activity by using the result of word cluster analysis, filling the blanks activity by using the result of co-occurrence analysis, material-oriented writing activities by using the result of text network analysis, and finally we made a list of important words by using the result of word embedding.
This study shows the meaning on context of social work practicum that college students have experienced. It reveals to find a essence of social work practicum based on college students through free variation. They met a "high barrier" from the beginning of social work practicum. There were "confused boundary of role as well as work". "Dilemma" has been accessed, so they felt various emotions for social work and social worker to be able to exist. "Various practice place" meant to continue as a multi-player with a weak appearance and confront for time as who he/she is. This was connected to whole life time for individually. Disclosure was as below. identity as a social worker(to be) was consisted beyond interaction between student and supervisor. Organization of social work practicum was considered when they had taken a part in. Gap must find out to be disappeared between ideal things and real things about social work practicum. Ideal type of college education for social work as well as whole education for all were needed.
The purpose of this study is to analyze tasks reflected in Korean and US textbooks according to the mathematical modeling perspectives, and then to compare the diversity of learning opportunities given to students from both countries. For this, we analyzed mathematical modeling tasks of textbooks based on three aspects: mathematical modeling process, data, and expression. Results are as follows. First, with respect to modeling process, Korean textbook provides a high percentage of the task at all stages of modeling than US textbook. Second, with respect to data, both countries' textbooks have the highest percentage of matching task. Korean textbooks have a large gap in data characteristics by textbook. Third, with respect to expression, both countries' textbooks have the highest percentage of text and picture. Korean textbooks have a large gap in the type of expression than US textbooks, and some textbooks have no other expression except for text and picture. Fourth, tasks were analyzed by integrating the three features. The three features were not combined in various ways. It is necessary to diversify the integration of the three features.
