일본강점기에 수원고등농림학교를 졸업, 일본으로 건너가 조선인으로는 입학하기 어려웠던 규슈대학 농학부를 나온 후, 해방되던 해에 수원중앙농업시험장의 전작계장으로 부임한 인연을 시작으로 50년여 동안 우리나라 밭작물의 발전과 농학도 양성에 매달려 온 서하 조재영(西荷 趙載英) 박사(93)를 서울 서초구에 있는 한국학술원에서 만났다. 조박사는 1950년대에 보리, 밀 고구마 신품종을 개발, 농가에 보급해 '보릿고개'를 극복하게 했고 밭작물의 재배 및 육종 연구를 토대로 '재배학범' '전작'을 저술해 우리나라 작물학의 초석을 다져낸 이후, 오로지 그 일에 몰두하여 작물학 체계를 집대성해냈다. 황해도 연백 출생으로 대한민국 과학기술상 수상, 국민훈장 목련장 등을 수훈했다.

한글 부호계의 올바른 사용과 이들의 표준안 채택은 한국어정보처리 제분야에서의 적합성과 한글 문화창달에 기여성등을 먼저 검토해야 할 것이며, 그리고 한글 부호 제정사에서 갖는 위상과 정보교환 및 정보처리 기술에 어떤 영향을 끼칠 것인지에 관한 학문적 평가가 요구된다. 이러한 결과는 궁극적으로 한국어정보처리에 있어서 그 한계성의 제거와, 새로운 컴퓨터 기술의 개발에 원동력을 제공할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to examine how Home Management era has contributed to social development in this country. For this purpose several famous research Hournals related Home Management era -Korean Journal of Home Economics(1980-1999) Journal of Korean Home Management(1983-1999) Journal of Child Development (1990-1999) Journal of Rarmily Resource Management (1996-1999) Jornal of Family Relations(1996-1999) -were analysed. On this study the evaluating criteria of the research were focused to 1) The outcome of the research can provide proper information and help for general home and families\ulcorner 2) The outcome of the research can provide the proper and helpful information for government policy of family related\ulcorner Among 2820 papers only 10% of them(partially child development era 49 family related era 68 family resource management 64 consumer related 46 and housing related 53 were selected. Conclusionally we have to have more attention to the research topics for policy oriente and helpful for welfare policy for family. For that we need to have more integrated perspectivwe for Home Management era.

The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the characteristic methods of Mathematics Education. However, it is not simple to find the proper research method of Mathematics Education since Mathematics Education deals with the practice of teaching and learning mathematics, as well as the topics of scholarly research on the practice. Issues on Mathematics Education might vary with the epidemical aspects, which are basic attitudes toward the knowledge and understanding about Mathematics. Thus, this thesis will discuss two questions: First, What are the distinguishing characteristics of Mathematics Education as a field of study, when compared with ones of mathematics? Second, What are the characteristic methods of Mathematics Education, when compared with ones of other academic fields? For solving those questions, this thesis starts from meanings of science and education. And it also classifies Mathematics as formal science whereas Mathematics Education as social science by showing differences between Mathematics and Mathematics Education: research subject of Mathematics targets on mathematics itself and it uses the deductive method. On the other hand, Mathematics Education research handles the practice of mathematics of students and uses plausible reasoning. Also, it will also show why Mathematics Education shares lots of aspects with social science, not with natural science, which has many different characteristics from those of social science. Many researchers have agreed that Education should be categorized into the social science but misplaced Mathematics Education and Science Education into the natural science. It is true that physics and chemistry are natural science. And also it should be said that pure science is formal science. But it should be considered that just like Education, Mathematics Education and Science Education are in the category of social science.

Southeast Asian studies in Korea have been developing rapidly, thanks to strategic and collective efforts invested by the area specialists. Especially, political scientists' contribution as 'institution builders' were remarkable. Anthropologists' leadership as 'solidarity makers' between humanities and social science is now experimenting. In terms of quantity, contribution of geography to area studies is not satisfactory yet, though geography is regarded as a discipline inseparable with area studies. However, geographers as 'horizontal networkers' can contribute to area studies through conducting research in unexplored subject and connecting the human and the physical science.

This study is to examine academic phenomena of public administration research field in Korea through analysing the trends of researcher behavior. For the purpose of this study I analysed the types of research performance, reference materials, core journals, and the half-life of reference materials by investigating the articles in Korean Public Administration Review which is one of the major journal in this discipline. The results I found out are the followings: most of researches of the public administration are performed individually by the established academic fellows : researchers show their preference to foreign journals: as for the case of domestic journals, researchers tend to refer the latest issue: the major journal is discriminated from the others by getting a higher points

Discussions and debates over media education abound in Korra as the number of both institutions that provide media related education and students enrollment for these programs increases rapidly in recent years. In spite of this rather impressive expansion, however, many have raised serious questions about media education of Korea for its not being able to meet the need of the Industry and students, and, moreover, inability to face the challenges brought by new communication related technologies. Who teaches What for what purposes are some of the fundamental questions underlying these heated debates and discussions. To understand these rather complex and interrelated issues more clearly, it is attempted to delineate the nature of these debates by exploring the evolutionary process of media education. The issues related to debates over purposes of media education, curriculum, and faculty qualification have changed through the history of media education, but the nature of the debates, that is the struggle between professionalism and academism, or the tension between practice and theory, has not. Upon this understanding, some argue that what distinguishes opposing sets of dichotomies, such as skills vs. knowledge, training vs. education, now-how vs. know-why. professional vs. academic, practice vs. theory, is more a reflection of social class division and group interests which have privileged theory over practice than a rational scholastic distinction. In addition, it has been often pointed out that the media studies have failed to establish ties with specific industries, and furthermore academic studies seriously lack solid theoretical and practical bases. In the case of the United States, leaders of the industry had contributed much for the Initiation of journalism education in a college setting. However, once inaugurated,, the process of its evolution has depended heavily on academicians. In a country like Korea, where academic and theoretical orientation is much stronger, these problems of media studies and education are even more acute. In this study, it is suggested that academicians and educators be more open-hearted to the realities of changing world, practices of the industries, and recruitment of professionals and practitioners to fill the gap between practice and theory, for the sake of the future of media studies and education.

최근 우리 나라도 자동차의 수요가 급격히 늘어나고 있고, 생산량도 급증하 고 있어 자동차 공업이 산업의 최고의 위치를 확보하게 되었다. 자동차는 최 신 종합 기계 구조물로서 전기, 전자, 제어에 이르기까지 거의 모든 분양의 학문적 이론과 기술을 도입하는 최첨단의 기계 장비인것이다. 따라서 그 부 가가치 또한 매우 큰 것이다. 자동차의 성능을 결정짓는 가장 커다란 요소는 주행 성능과 안정성 및 조종성이다. 주행성능이라 함은 자동차의 종방향 운 동에 관한 성능으로서 기관의 동력에 지배적인 영향을 받는 성능(동력 성능) 과 그 밖의 성능(타향 성능, 제동 성능)으로 구분된다. 또 안정성과 조종성이 라함은 자동차의 횡방향 운동에 관한 성능으로서 로울링과 요우잉을 포함시 킨 곡선 운동에 관한 성능을 일컫는다. 이러한 운동 성능을 좌우하는 것은 구조적인 설계의 양부와 스프링이나 댐퍼의 성능일 것이다. 자동차의 수많은 부품 중의 다수가 국산화 되어 있지 아니하고, 또한 이러한 부품들의 성능을 시험할 수 있는 장비의 수입 의존도가 높은 것은 업계나 학계 등에서 앞으 로 많은 연구가 이루어져야 할 점이다. 자동차의 충격 흡수기(shock absorber)의 검사기도 또한 수입 시험기에 의존하고 있었던 것이 현실이었 다. 이에 본 연구진은 이 검사기의 국산화에 착수 한 것이다. 자동차에 있어 서 충격 흡수기는 지면에서 오는 충격을 급속히 흡수하는 역할을 하여 자동 차의 주행 성능과 안정성을 높혀 주며, 승차감을 높혀 주는 중요한 부품이 다. 따라서 충격 흡수기의 양부의 판정은 대단히 중요한 것이다. 본 연구에 서는 충격 흡수기의 충격 흡수력(감쇠력)을 측정하여 감쇠 특성을 정도 높게 파악할 수 있는 시험기를 만드는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 연구는 시험기의 구동부를 제작하는 기계부와, 제어 및 계측의 하드웨어를 담당하는 전기.전 자부및 실제로 기계를 구동, 제어하고 측정 결과를 기록하고 출력하는 부분 을 담당하는 소프트웨어 개발부로 나누어서 진행하였다.

송풍기나 홴과 같은 유체기계의 소음은 최근 들어 사람들의 관심을 끌면서 많은 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 이러한 문제는 유체기계가 제품의 구매요구를 결정할 뿐만 아니라 환경소음의 규제와도 관계가 깊다. 이런 홴이나 송풍기 소음은 축 편심에 의한 진동 소음과, 유동에 의한 유동소음이 있는데 대형 송풍기는 진동 소음과 유동 소음이 동시에 존재하지만 중소형 송풍기는 유동 소음이 우세하다. 유동 소음은 공력음향학이라는 학문의 한 분야로 유동에 대한 정보가 있어야 정확한 소음원을 파악하고, 특성도 예측이 가능하다. 유동과의 강한 연관성 때문에 지금까지 송풍기의 유동 소음에 대한 연구가 미약하였다.(중략)

This study attempted to propose a theoretical model for STEAM education, entitled to the Ewha-STEAM education model, which could provide more concrete guidelines for science educators and curriculum developers to execute STEAM ideas. We identified key knowledge and key competencies to nurture future creative/convergent human resources. Key knowledge included an understanding of core ideas cutting across traditional disciplinary boundaries as well as the nature of different disciplines. And additionally, key competencies implied such abilities as to explore the scientific world, to resolve problems, and to communicate and collaborate with others. We also added creativity and character as an essential part of key competencies. In order to provide more specific guidelines when developing, implementing, and evaluating STEAM curriculum, we suggested three elements of convergence to consider: 1) unit of convergence (i.e. concept/skills, problem/phenomenon, activity), 2) degree of convergence (i.e. multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, extra-disciplinary), and 3) context of convergence (i.e. personal, societal, global). It is expected that the Ewha-STEAM education model would contribute towards diverse education communities understanding the direction of STEAM education and its educational potentials.
