  • A number of schools have introduced the Reward and Punishment Mark System. It has been applied to children at school in order to minimize the ill effects that are often caused by physical punishment. In this case, teachers have caused problematic issues in the course of student life guidance at school. However, the application of the personal Reward and Punishment Mark System raises many other questions as well. Accordingly, there is the necessity of making up for its weak points on the systematic level. The purpose of this study is to understand the Effect of the Collective Reward and Punishment Mark System, as a substitute punishment to the physical punishment, applying the reward and punishment mark system not to an individual but to a group. The Collective Reward and Punishment Mark System for the upper grade students of primary schools showed a positive effect which assists their adaptation to school. To put it more concretely, according to the characters of the study subjects, the system has proved that boy students are more positively affected than girl students. It has been also revealed that those students in the fourth grade experience a positive change in all areas of the adaptation to school, while those in the fifth and the sixth grade were negatively affected. Moreover, those who hold a lower rank in respect of grade achievement experienced a more positive change than those standing among a high rank. It is expected that the Effect of the Collective Reward and Punishment Marks System, on the basis of the study, possesses affirmative intervention on the field.

  • This study verified the relationship between marital conflict perceived by working mothers and the influence of children's cyber delinquency and the mediating effect of school life adaptation. For the analysis data, the 14th data of the Korean Children's Panel (2021) were used, and SPSS WIN 23.0 and PROCESS MACRO were used for analysis. The analysis method used the PROCESS MACRO Model Number 4 technique to verify the hypothesis, first, frequency analysis to understand the demographic and sociological characteristics of the survey subjects, second, technical statistics, correlation analysis to understand the technical statistics and correlations of major variables. As a result of the main analysis, first, it was found that marital conflict perceived by working mothers did not have a statistically significant effect on children's cyber delinquency. Second, in the relationship between marital conflict perceived by working mothers and cyber delinquency of children, school life adaptation had a complete mediating effect. Based on these results, it is significant in that it has presented basic data to prevent cyber delinquency problems before children who are active a lot online are exposed.

  • In upper elementary period school adjustment and the effect of parenting face a new set of dynamics. We assumed that parental supervision, affection, incoherence, over-expectation, over-interruption and logical explanation would have an effect on individual trajectories in the development of school adjustment. Additionally, we hypothesized that this model would be different among boys and girls. In this study we analyzed three waves of data collected from 2,378 children nationwide in South Korea. This data was gathered from the Panel Study of Korean Youth and Adolescents conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute(NYPI). Growth-curve longitudinal analysis was conducted and the results indicate that levels of school adjustment had decreased through the $4^{th}$ to $6^{th}$ grade. Parents' supervision, affection and logical explanation significantly predict children's initial school adjustment as well as their rate of decrease in their levels of school adjustment. Parents' supervision had a positive effect on girls' school adjustment. Parents' over-expectation had negative effect on boys' school adjustment levels. Policy implications and future directions for research were also discussed.

  • The goal of this study was to examine the relationship among students' personal variables(Korean language abilities, self-efficacy, student-teacher attachment relationships), teacher variable(perceptions of multi-cultural education) affecting on multi-cultural students' school adjustment. Structural equation modeling was performed to test the mediating role of self-efficacy and student-teacher attachment affecting multi-cultural students' school adjustment. 336 elementary students and their matching 264 elementary school teachers were participated for this study. The model fit for this study model was acceptable, =280.024, df=98, CFI=.930, RMSEA = .074. The results revealed that teacher's perceptions on multi-cultural education significantly related with student-teacher relationships. However, Korean language ability did not directly affect the school adjustment for multi-cultural background students. That is, self-efficacy and student-teacher relationships mediated between Korean language ability and school adjustment. Moreover student-teacher relationships seem to be the key mediating factor between other research variables and school adjustment. Further considerations and future directions based on results were discussed.

  • The subjects of this study are three visually-impaired undergraduates currently considering if they should take a leave of absence after finishing the first year in S University located in Busan City. From March to July, 2018, this researcher explored the meaning of their university entrance and the essential meaning and structure of their school life experiences by using Giorgi's phenomenological methodology. According to the results, this author drew 32 meaningful statements and also 10 main themes, "the excitement of campus life and the name of being an undergraduate", "parents' suggestion", "something other than being a massager", "Is it a place that anyone can enter? Or, is it a special place?", "loneliness within the public", "Everything is an obstacle.", "It's not giving up, but still I am in a vague moment.", "the beginning of another conflict", and "studying in a university is not for the present but for the future". They were categorized into being a university student and the meaning of it (category1), adaptation to university life and reality (category 2), and one year after the entrance: the meaning of being a university student (category 3). Based on the above results, this author intends to provide foundational material about what universities can do for visually-impaired students to adapt to university life in the initial steps properly.
