In recent years, inclusion of students with disabilities in regular classrooms and special classrooms in mainstream schools has been a major stream of special education. However education for teacher librarians in Korea has not been responsive to these trends. A few of departments of library & information science in Korea universities offer courses that include information about special needs students. This study addressed the implications of inclusive education, the roles of school library and the training needs of teacher librarians for service to special needs students. And it analyzed tendency and current states of teacher librarians education on inclusive education. As a result, it is recommended that departments of library & information science in Korean universities offer more courses concerning educational support for special needs students in their curriculum and include of special modules in their most of courses offered to enhance the skill of future teacher librarians to cater for special educational needs.

The research is intended to establish the importance of background knowledge in reading process and suggest a revitalization plan for the schema for reading education. The reading process as fundamental research and the schema conception have been studied and the present situation of reading education in the school libraries has been inspected. This research reviewed the reading strategies which school libraries require for the revitalization of the schema and based on this data, a method of SQ3R reading has been applied and a class model developed. As an outcome, a guidance plan for instruction was proposed and learning-activity materials applying graphic organizer have been produced. Subsequently, a class in school library was conducted. Following the outcome of the class and an expert's review of the class model, this research has developed a class model for the revitalization of the schema for reading education in school libraries.

도서관문화 12월호에서는 <2004년도 국정감사와 '도서관'>이라는 주제로 두가지 자료를 정리해 보았다. 첫째는 2004년 10월 4일(문화관광부회의실)과 10월 22일(국회 문화관광위원회회의실)에서 있었던 문화관광부 본부에 대한 2004년도 국정감사의 회의록 중 '도서관' 또는 '독서'와 관련된 발언들만 발췌하여 정리한 것이며, 둘째는 국회 문화관광위원회 위원들이 문화관광부와 국립중앙도서관에 보낸 서면질의와 이에 대한 각 기관의 답변을 요약한 것이다. 법률을 입안하고 제정하며 이에 따른 정책을 추진하는 국회와 정부가 '도서관'에 대해 어떤 인식을 가지고 있는지 알아볼 수 있는 자료가 되었으면 한다. 첫번째 자료는 국회 홈페이지 '국정감사시스템'에 공개된 회의록을 이용했으며, 두번째 자료는 문화관광부 문화정책과와 국립중앙도서관 도서관정책과에서 제공해 주었다. 자료 제공에 감사드린다. 아울러 2004년도 국정감사 자료집으로 발행된 '학교도서관정책자료집'(유기홍 의원과 학교도서관문화운동네트워크 공동)과 '장애인도서관서비스 관련 정책제안 자료집'(정병국 의원)도 참고해 볼 만하다.

한국도서관협회는 매년 4월중 1주일간을 "도서관주간"으로 정하여 도서관의 가치와 중요성을 알림으로써 도서관의 사회적 역할을 확대하고 국민들의 인식을 제고하기 위하여 노력해 왔다. 1964년 처음 시작된 "도서관주간"은 지금까지 지식정보사회를 열어가는 동반자인 도서관과 국민들의 상호이해 증진의 장으로 자리매김해오고 있다. 도서관주간은 매년 4월 12일부터 18일까지이며, 이 기간동안 공공 대학 학교 전문 도서관 등 모든 관종의 도서관에서는 다양하고 창의적인 프로그램을 통해 이용자들과 만나고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the benefits of library assisted instruction. A survey was conducted along with in-depth interview with students who have experienced library assisted instructions. As a result, 18 different domains of benefits of library assisted instruction have been identified through the students with the experience of the instruction. The benefits include 'increasing efficiency in learning', 'building the habits of reading', etc. The benefits of library assisted instruction are expected to be applied in the strategies to operation of library service.

This study aims to identify challenges faced by the schools participating in the 2006 School Library Revitalization Project so as to incorporate them in the next year's plan, which is the last year of the phase one of the project, as well as in designing the phase two. By doing so, it seeks to contribute to enhancing effectiveness of the School Library Revitalization Project conducted by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development(MOEHRD), the Republic of Korea. The second segment of the research consists of the pub)ic survey in 1,281 project schools(2005) and 1,098 project schools(2006) to assess overall performance of the project. The target group is divided into five categories of school inspectors, principals, teachers, school librarians, and students.

The purpose of this study is to survey the reading reality of comic books for learning in elementary schools, to research the perceptions of students and their parents to reading comic books for learning, and to suggest the methods which librarians and teachers make use of the comic books for learning in their classes. For doing this, firstly 3 elementary schools were chosen and every school, 4 classes from 3rd year to 6th year, total 12 classes' students and their parents were searched. As the results of this, it's revealed that most of students have experiences of reading the comic books which are circulated in school libraries, etc., and both groups of students and their parents thought the comic books to help their academic achievement, and they have the thought that the reading comic books induce themselves to read the other normal books for more informations. It's suggested that the comic books for learning should be thought of the important media for teaching learning, and be utilized as the media for normal reading attitude s and habits of students in elementary school libraries.

The purpose of this study is to find out the factors which have interrupted Library Assisted Instruction in various schools' libraries and to analyze the factors by the tools and to propose the solutions to the obstacles for the desired Library Assisted Instruction. For doing this, some experimental processes had been made: firstly, to make the analysis model based on HPT for the improvement of the real LAI, secondly, to apply the model to LAI, to draw out the problems and to analyze them, and to propose the solutions. As the results of this study, the 5 solutions are presented; 1) LAIs should have the obvious and concrete teaching&learning objectives. 2) The supporting systems for LAI like the web community ought to be prepared. 3) External motivation systems, that is, teachers and teacher-librarians' performance assessment with LAI participation rate per year, should be developed. 4) The various, practical LAI programs should be developed. 5) The obscure refusal of teachers & teacher-librarians to LAI should be disappeared and the directors of schools should be confident of the LAI's educational, positive effects.

This study conducted a awareness survey of librarians by type of library. analyzed the survey results to present the rationale for establishing policies for the collaborative preservation and effective use of library materials. As a result of the analysis, the general awareness of the librarians about the collaborative preservation archive was high regardless of the characteristics of each type of library. the regional Central library was suitable as the main body of the collaborative preservation operation at the regional level.

The purpose of this study is to identify how teacher librarians perceive the importance of each job and the expected job of other teachers and students, and to obtain basic information on their job recognition and to derive their jobs to be improved. To this end, after modifying the 25 jobs selected by Lim Jeong-hoon et al.(2021), 210 librarian teachers were measured for their own importance by job, the expected importance of other teachers and students, and the level of evaluation of their own performance ability. As a result of the analysis, teacher librarians recognized 'reading education and literacy education' as the most important, but recognized 'library event' as the most important task expected of other teachers and students, and recognized that 'library usage guidance' was the most outstanding. In addition, there were nine jobs that needed to be improved.
