  • The purpose of this study is to find out the factors which have interrupted Library Assisted Instruction in various schools' libraries and to analyze the factors by the tools and to propose the solutions to the obstacles for the desired Library Assisted Instruction. For doing this, some experimental processes had been made: firstly, to make the analysis model based on HPT for the improvement of the real LAI, secondly, to apply the model to LAI, to draw out the problems and to analyze them, and to propose the solutions. As the results of this study, the 5 solutions are presented; 1) LAIs should have the obvious and concrete teaching&learning objectives. 2) The supporting systems for LAI like the web community ought to be prepared. 3) External motivation systems, that is, teachers and teacher-librarians' performance assessment with LAI participation rate per year, should be developed. 4) The various, practical LAI programs should be developed. 5) The obscure refusal of teachers & teacher-librarians to LAI should be disappeared and the directors of schools should be confident of the LAI's educational, positive effects.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify how teacher librarians perceive the importance of each job and the expected job of other teachers and students, and to obtain basic information on their job recognition and to derive their jobs to be improved. To this end, after modifying the 25 jobs selected by Lim Jeong-hoon et al.(2021), 210 librarian teachers were measured for their own importance by job, the expected importance of other teachers and students, and the level of evaluation of their own performance ability. As a result of the analysis, teacher librarians recognized 'reading education and literacy education' as the most important, but recognized 'library event' as the most important task expected of other teachers and students, and recognized that 'library usage guidance' was the most outstanding. • The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of school library services using the RGT (repertory grid technique), and to examine whether there are differences in the perceptions and internal experiences of school library services between human resources (librarian teachers, subject teachers, and librarians). I used indicators such as element intensity, construct extremity, discrepant constructs, and implicative dilemmas to analyze the characteristics of school library services. The elements of the repertory grid were set to 9, and 14 constructs were set through focus group interviews with 3 librarian-teachers. The GRIDCOR 6.0, which can be accessed online, was used to complete the repertory grid for 30 graduate students of the College of Education, and 6 of them were selected and analyzed, considering the demographic characteristics. From the perspective of element intensity, it was found that the following school library services are important and influential: resource management, teacher-librarian collaboration, and reading and information counseling services. The clarity of one's role, the actual performance, and self-regulatory ability were ranked high from the perspective of constructs intensity.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that hinder the role recognition and role performance of teacher librarians and suggest some improvement methods. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted among 41 persons who participated in the first-level qualification training for teachers librarians at K University Secondary Teacher Training Institute in 2019.The results showed that there was a difference between the expected role and the execution role of the teacher librarians. In other words, teacher librarians recognize that they should teach information literacy as instructors and operate library-based instruction and cooperative classes as teaching partners. However, the most frequently played roles are reading education and library use education. They recognizes the cause as institutional limitations, such as the absence of a national level curriculum and the ambiguity of the role of specialists in school libraries. And it is perceived as a real problem such as the lack of partnership and recognition of their peers. Among the variables of teacher librarians, the higher their educational level, the more they perceived their peers as teachers. Based on this, some suggestions for strengthening the role of the teacher librarians' instructor and teaching partner were proposed in terms of including cross-curricular subjects of information literacy education, analyzing jobs and establishing scholarship system for school libraries.

For this purpose, first, we examined the concept of self-censorship through a review of related literature, then carried out a series of in-depth interviews as a pilot study to develop a questionnaire, which was used for a questionnaire survey. Finally, the survey data was analyzed statistically with SPSS 21.0, a statistical package. As a result, we have discovered statistically significant relationships between self-censorship and the characteristics in collection development policies, school library committees, and the complaints related with the library collections. Based on these results, the factors on the self-censorship were identified in the perception of the school librarians. Based on these results, we suggest to reinforce the function of review and approval of book selection in the school library committee, developed and approved a collection development policy include guidelines for dealing with users' complaints related to library collection, and stipulated a regulation for school library operation to remove inappropriate books from the library collection.
