  • This study was performed to examine effects of PNF combined pattern training on balance ability and functional ability of hockey players. In order to achieve this purpose, total 28 participants were separated into two group: 14 comparison group and 14 experiment group, and the experiment group performed PNF combined pattern training for 12 week, 3 times a week, 60 minutes a day. Each group was measured beforehand, after 6 week and 12 week. balance ability was measured using GOOD BALANCE system and functional ability was measured using carioca and shuttle-run test. For statistically verifying above measured values, repeated measure analysis of variance was analyzed and have following results. As the comparing results of balance ability, normal standing eye close(NSEC) was ant-post and velocity moment of experiment group showed significant differences(p<.05). And one leg right eye close(OLREC) was ant-post, med-lat and velocity moment of experiment group showed significant differences (p<.05). Also, dynamic balance ability was ant-post and velocity moment of experiment groups showed significant differences(p<.05). As the comparing results of functional ability, shuttle-run of experiment group sowed significant differences(p<.05). From above results, balance ability of hockey players was shown to be improved through symmetric training of PNF combined pattern applied to hockey players, and it can be considered that this is actively recommended for training method to improve athletic performance of hockey players.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between visual analogue scale(VAS) of the waist and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) and the muscle strength of the waist for male field hockey athletes. The VAS and ODI were conducted by self-written evaluation, and muscle strength was measured by using DAVID. Pearson correlation was used for data analysis, and the statistical significance level was set to α = .05. The VAS of the waist of male field hockey athletes and the ODI were statistically significant. However, other VAS and the ODI did not correlate to the strength of the lower back. Therefore, there is a need to develop a new exercise program for the rather than strength training during the waist rehabilitation exercise. It is thought that these studies will serve as basic data useful for the development of treatment and exercise programs for athletes in the future.

  • This study was intended to quantify the acceleration and deceleration information measured in the competition by using GPS device for the national women's field hockey players and to identify the difference in movement by classifying them by position. For this study, 308 acceleration and deceleration data were collected from 16 women's field hockey players measured at international competitions. According to research results, the frequency of acceleration was in the order of midfield > defender > striker, acceleration distance was midfield > striker > defender. The frequency of deceleration appeared in the order of midfield > defender > striker, deceleration distance was defender > striker > defender. Based on the results of this study, can be used as basic data when setting the strength and amount of training for field hockey players.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze flick shooting motion in penalty corner between high school players and national players in field hockey. Five high school players and six national players participated in this study. The 3D kinematic data were collected for each subject performing the penalty corner stroke. The results of the study were as follows: 1) The national players had higher stick head and ball velocity than the high school players. 2) The forward length between ball and support foot during ball catching with stick head was longer in the national players than the high school players. 3) At the Z axis of the E5 event, the center of gravity of the national players was lower than that of the high school players. 4) At the Z axis of the E5 event, left hip angle of the national players was lower than that of the high school players. 5) The national players had longer drag length of ball than the high school players. 6) The national players had higher hand and lower arm angular momentum than the high school players.

  • The study aims to identify key players through the last five passes when entering shooting circles in Korea and top four countries participated in the Rio Olympics. First, the analysis code was created using the Sports code to analyze the 29 games including Korea and the top 4 countries among 33 games. Second, Ucinet 6 has been used to analyze the Closeness Centrality of each country. The results of the study show that Korea is a key player in No.13 FW, New Zealand in No.1 MF, Germany in No.5 DF, Netherlands in No.9 MF and U.K in No.8 MF. In particular, the two teams that advanced to the finals saw their proximity center index average over 60. Based on these results, it is expected that the analysis of women's field hockey matches will serve as a tool to identify key players.

  • The aim of this study was to compare and analyse the national players between the winning games and the losing ones by classifying the GPS data measured in the competition. 27 players of Korean national team on field hockey had analysed to collect plenty of data by using GPS system in real time on 16 A-matches for this paper. The result was followed: First, it has revealed that the winning games showed that it had played a lot in the rest of the zone except for zone 1 and zone 5 from zone 1 to zone 6. Second, is has also shown that it had a significant differences into the distance between the winning games and the losing ones. Third, there were no significant differences between Low-speed zone (zone 1 to Zone 3) and High-speed zone (zone 4 to zone 6) into the distance but were a significant differences on the number of high-accelerations in a section of accelerations. Last, in the position-specific, it has shown a significant differences between a distance by the section and the acceleration frequency and the results showed that the difference between the low accelerations and high ones influenced positively related to the performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the attacking pattern of the key player through plenty of passes on field hockey between the winning games and losing ones through the preliminary game and the tournament. It has shown that the Korean women national team on field hockey is analysed all the passes through the sportscode for the 6 games of the World-League Final, and is investigated the centrality through the social network analysis using the R analytic software. The result is followed : First, It has shown three tendencies on the preliminary games that it has shown a lower Degree-Centrality, a same with Closeness, and a higher Betweenness than the tournament. Second, It has also described on winning games that it has explained a lower Degree-Centrality, a same with Closeness, and a higher Betweenness than losing games. On the conclusion, it has revealed that Korean women national team on field hockey showed a tendency that prefer to use a counter-attacking. Based on these study, expect to be used as a way to analyze performance in the field.
