For aviation sensor pod, structural integrity should be verified through static structural tests for flight loads induced in various maneuvering conditions of the aircraft. For this, it is necessary to develop a test system for full-scale static load test of sensor pod. Based on test requirements, this paper introduced a test system configuration of the static test and the development of test structure frame, restraints equipment, loading equipment, control, and measurement equipment. In addition, methods and procedures for verifying the developed test system were explained. In conclusion, the static load test and data acquisition were successfully performed. Reliability of the test equipment was also verified in the process.

Vehicle loading is one of the main causes of bridge deterioration. Although WiM (Weigh in Motion) can be used to measure vehicle loading on a bridge, it has disadvantage of high installation and maintenance cost due to its contactness. In this study, a non-contact method is proposed to estimate the vehicle loading history of bridges using deep learning and CCTV images. The proposed method recognizes the vehicle type using an object detection deep learning model and estimates the vehicle loading based on the load-based vehicle type classification table developed using the weights of empty vehicles of major domestic vehicle models. Faster R-CNN, an object detection deep learning model, was trained using vehicle images classified by the classification table. The performance of the model is verified using images of CCTVs on actual bridges. Finally, the vehicle loading history of an actual bridge was obtained for a specific time by continuously estimating the vehicle loadings on the bridge using the proposed method.

The EO/IR targeting pod mounted on a fighter to acquire information about tactical targets is typically mounted and operated at the bottom of the aircraft fuselage. Since the aircraft equipped with such an external attachment has complexed aerodynamic and inertial characteristics compared to the aircraft flying without an external attachment, a method of system performance analyses is required to identify development risk factors in the early stages of development and reflect them in the design. In this study, a development plan was presented to provide the necessary modeling and simulation tools to develop a pod that can acquire measurement data stably in a highly maneuverable environment. The limiting operating conditions of the pods mounted on the highly maneuverable aircraft were derived, the aerodynamics and inertial loads of the mounted pods were analyzed according to the limiting operating conditions, and a flight data generation and transmission system were developed by simulating the mission of the aircraft equipped with the mounted pods.

This paper deals with several statistical distribution functions for the analysis of fatigue life data of composite laminates for small wind-turbine blades. A series of tensile tests was performed on triaxial glass/epoxy laminates for loading directions of $0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, and $90^{\circ}$. Then, fatigue tests were carried out to determine the fatigue life at the aforementioned loading directions and the fatigue stresses at four levels. Two-parameter Weibull, three-parameter Weibull, normal, and log-normal distributions were used to fit the fatigue life data of the triaxial composite laminates. The three-parameter Weibull distribution most accurately described the fatigue life data measured experimentally for all the cases considered. Furthermore, the variation of fatigue life was simultaneously affected by the loading direction and fatigue stress level.
This study presented the results of the static load tests conducted to verify the structural robustness of the composite oxidant tank for a space launch vehicle. First, we introduced the test equipment used in the static load test of the composite oxidant tank, and then described the test requirements that the composite oxidant tank must satisfy. In addition, we presented a test set-up diagram consisting of the static load test fixture, hydraulic pressure, control equipment, and data acquisition equipment, and the load profile of the static load test of the composite oxidant tank consisting of shear, equivalent compression, bending, and combination tests. As a result of load control, we verified the reliability of this test by showing the errors between the input load and the feedback load in each channel according to the increase of the test load, and the feedback error between the channel A and channel B of load cell in each load actuator. As a result of the static load test, the load of the actuator was properly controlled within the allowable error range in each test, and we found that the test specimen did not cause damage or buckling that causes significant structural defects in the required load.
This study is concerned with creep characteristics of red shale in the Haman Formation by the single stage and multi stage loading tests. Creep constants in the Griggs's experiential equation, ${\epsilon}_t$= a+$b{\cdot}log$ t + $c{\cdot}t$, are determined by regression analysis on the total data obtained. The transition time between the primary and second creep means the time when the differential value of $b{\cdot}log$ t is equal to the differential value of $c{\cdot}t$. The correlation equation between loads (${\sigma}$%) and creep constants is deduced from the three times multi stage loading tests. Also a failure time under each loads is anticipated from creep constants and maximum strain at the failure.

It is the aim of this paper to propose the empirical fatigue crack propagation model fit to describe a crack growth behavior of AZ31 magnesium alloys. The statistical data of a crack growth for an estimation are obtained by fatigue crack propagation tests under the three cases of maximum load. The empirical models estimated are Paris-Erdogan model, Walker model, Forman model, and modified-Forman model. It is found that the empirical model fit to describe a crack growth behavior of AZ31 magnesium alloys is Paris-Erdogan model and Walker model. It is also verified that a fatigue crack growth rate exponent of a empirical model is to be a material constant.

In spite of its usefulness for health monitoring of structures on steady external load, the statistical pattern recognition technology (SPRT), based on Mahalanobis distance theory (MDT), is not good enough for the health monitoring of structures on large variability external load like earthquake. Damage is usually determined by the difference between the average measured value of undamaged structure and the measure value of damaged one. So when external variability gets larger, the difference gets bigger along, which is thus easily mistaken for a damage. This paper aims to overcome the problem and develop an improved Mahalanobis distance theory (IMDT), that is, a SPRT with revised MDT in order to decrease external variability so that we will be able to continue to monitor the structure on uncertain external variability. This method is experimentally tested to see if it precisely evaluates the health of a cable-stayed bridge on each general random load and earthquake load. As a result, the IMDT is found to be valid in locating structural damage made by damaged cables by means of data from undamaged cables. So it is proved to be effectively applicable to the health monitoring of bridges on external load of variability.

To a series of vibration records obtained from experimental modal testing using a fixed hammer and roving accelerometers for greenhouse arch structures, modal parameters such as natural frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes are extracted by applying the two most advanced system identification methods in the frequency-domain up to now, so-called PolyMAX and FDD. The former involves both input and output data, while the latter utilizes only the output data. The possibility of determining the static buckling load, detecting damages, etc., for very slender steel-pipe arches by means of a non-destructive testing method based on vibration measurements is primarily investigated. The extracted modal parameters generally correlated well with those obtained using finite element analysis, demonstrating promising results for further on-going research.

The goal of this study is to ases the static and dynamic behavior of disk bearings under railway vehicle loadings. Several static tests were conducted in a laboratory t bearings, all having the same kind of polyurethane disk as used in the static tests, were installed under a full-sized railway bridge and tested with a running locomotive, the tests results, the static and dynamic stiffness of the disk bearings were estimated and compared. the deformation of the disk bearings under the bridge was measured at varying disk bearing was almost half of that under dynamic loading. In addition, the dynamic stiffness of the fixed disk bearing was 80% higher than that of an expansion disk bearing, since the PTFE in the expansion bearing is displaced. The deformation of the disk bearing did not vary significantly with changes in locomotive's speed. The results of this study can contribute to fast-tracking the formulation of a design technique for disk bearings for railway bridges.
