  • In this study, effect of core-shell structure on compaction behavior of harmonic powder is investigated. Harmonic powders are made by electroless plating method on Fe powders. Softer Cu shell encloses harder Fe core, and the average size of Fe core and thickness of Cu shell are $34.3{\mu}m$ and $3.2{\mu}m$, respectively. The powder compaction procedure is processed with pressure of 600 MPa in a cylindrical die. Due to the low strength of Cu shell regions, the harmonic powders show better densification behavior compared with pure Fe powders. Finite element method (FEM) is performed to understand the roll of core-shell structure. Based on stress and strain distributions of FEM results, it is concluded that the early stage of powder compaction of harmonic powders mainly occurs at the shell region. FEM results also well predict porosity of compacted materials.

  • This study investigates the structural strength analysis due to rib thickness of lower arm. At structural analysis, model 1 has the most deformation by comparing three models. As most equivalent stress is shown at the part connected with wheel knuckle, the strength becomes weaker in cases of three models. At fatigue analysis, model 1 becomes most unstabilized among three models. Model 3 has most fatigue life and the next model is model 2. The range of maximum harmonic response frequencies becomes 140 to 175Hz in cases of three models. Because the critical frequency at model 3 becomes highest among three models but the stress exceeds yield stress, model 3 becomes most unstabilized at vibration durability. As models 1 and 2 has less than yield stress, these models become stabilized. Model 2 becomes most favorable by comparing three models at structural, fatigue and vibration analyses. This study result can be effectively utilized with the design of lower arm by investigating prevention against damage and its strength durability.

  • This paper presents a novel bandpass filter design method for suppressing spurious response in the GSM band and effectively reducing the overall size with the unbalanced-conditioned metamaterials. Compared to the conventional bandpass filters based on half-or quarter-wave resonators, the CRLH(composite right/left-handed) bandpass filter works excellently in harmonic-suppression by 40$\sim$50 dB and 80 %-miniaturization using the zero-order resonators bridged by Inductive-coupling Inverters suggested first time. The proposed technique, with the equivalent circuit and dispersion diagram, is validated by performance predictions and experiments.

  • This study analyzes stress, fatigue and vibration at clutch on the rotation of wheel. Eigenfrequencies from 1'st to 6'th order about clutch assembly are shown with the vibration at more than 800Hz. Maximum equivalent stress is shown with the frequency of 800Hz in case of the harmonic vibration applied with force. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample History' with the average stress of 0MPa to $-10^5$ MPa and the amplitude stress of 0MPa to $10^5$ MPa, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 3.23%. This stress state can be shown with 6 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the safe design of clutch.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a novel DGS(Defected Ground Structure) resonator and has designed the band -pass filter using the proposed ${\subset}$ stub-I type DGS resonator. This structure has strong advantages that can vary the retune loss at the passband freely and also can easily tune the attenuation pole frequency at the stopband. The bandpass filter can be made more smaller than the existing filters and be used to find the various applications for eliminating the harmonics and spurious mode at IMT-2000 band.

  • In this paper, we have introduced a new way to design low phase noise PLL which can apply to the Ultra wideband as meeting performance requirements based on structure improvement, circuit supplement, upgraded design method. Before development of the PLL, we simulated spectrum power, phase noise, harmonic characteristic by using ADS(Advanced Designed System). And, we compared result between measurement and simulation. Finally, we confirm a satisfying result which meet performance requirements between required standard and measured value. It will be useful for transceiver of service which operate in Ultra wideband.

  • This paper presents a study on a rectenna for rectification of incident low power microwave signals with power densities less than 2 mW/$cm^2$ at 2.45 GHz. The proposed rectenna is designed and implemented by a rectifier with voltage doubler structure and a printed Yagi antenna which suppress re-radiation of the second order harmonic of fundamental frequency. The printed Yagi antenna has a gain of about 5 dB, and the measured conversion efficiencies of the rectenna are from 32 % to 42 % when its incident power levels are from 0 dBm to 14 dBm. The developed rectenna is expected to be useful in the power transmission system.

  • In this paper, FG-CPW (Finite-Ground Coplanar Wave-Guide) balanced diode mixer is presented. Frequency bandwidth is selected for a C-band, which is 5.72~5.82 GHz for RF, 5.58~5.68 GHz for LO, and 140 MHz for IF signals. A rat-race hybrid is designed for the accomplishment of single balanced type. A low pass filter (LPF) with CPW structure is used far good conversion loss and unwanted harmonics suppression. When LO signal with the power of 4 dBm at 5.635 GHz is injected, a conversion loss of 6.2 dB is obtained for the mixer. Also, the LO to RF and LO to IF isolation of 30 dB and 40 dB are obtained, respectively. This mixer can be used in the area on wireless LAN application.

  • In this paper, We has proposed two DGS(Defected Ground Structure) resonators and designed the low-pass filter using the proposed DGS types. This structure consists of two rectangular slots, a ‘II type’ slot on the ground plane, and the stub at the transmission line. It has strong advantages that can vary the return loss at the passband freely and also can easily tune the attenuation pole frequency at the stopband. For enhancing the poor skirt property at the cutoff frequency of the Single Stub ‘II Type’ DGS cell, we have obtained the steep slope attenuation characteristic by combining the rectangular slot on both sides of the DGS. This type of the LPF with the proposed structure can be made more smaller than the existing filters and be used to find the various applications for eliminating the hamonics and spurious mode at WLL and the 2.4 GHz ISM band systems.

  • Harmonic structure materials are materials with a core-shell structure having a shell with a small grain size and a core with a relatively large grain size. They are in the spotlight because their mechanical properties reportedly feature strength similar to that of a sintered powder with a fine grain size and elongation similar to that of a sintered powder with a coarse grain size at the same time. In this study, the tensile properties, microstructure, and stretch-flangeability of harmonic structure SUS304L made using powder metallurgy are investigated to check its suitability for automotive applications. The harmonic powders are made by mechanical milling and sintered using a spark plasma sintering method at 1173 K and a pressure of 50 MPa in a cylindrical die. The sintered powders of SUS304L having harmonic structure (harmonic SUS304L) exhibit excellent tensile properties compared with sintered powders of SUS304L having homogeneous microstructure. In addition, the harmonic SUS304L has excellent stretch-flangeability compared with commercial advanced high-strength steels (AHSSs) at a similar strength grade. Thus, the harmonic SUS304L is more suitable for automotive applications than conventional AHSSs because it exhibits both excellent tensile properties and stretch-flangeability.
