An Analysis of Satisfaction on the Essential Curriculum: Focusing on J University Case (교양필수 교과목에 대한 만족도 분석: J대학 사례를 중심으로)

  • In this study, we examined the satisfaction level of J university's compulsory liberal arts subject with quantitative research. The results quantitative research are as follows. First, men are more interested in creative thinking, college life guidance and career path design than girls. Second, the level of satisfaction with the required liberal arts subject by grade was found to be without a statistical significant difference. Third, the satisfaction level of each line of learning was shown in the order of natural engineering, health and welfare, physical fitness, and humanities. The satisfaction level of the lines of learning was found to vary. Fourth, The satisfaction level of each campus was found to vary. The results of this study could be used as basic data to improve the college liberal arts curriculum, especially the compulsory liberal arts curriculum.   • This study provided implications for applying learner-centered teaching methods in the field of management education by adopting flipped learning and team-based learning to Business Communication classes and operating the classes according to its characteristics. Business communication capability, especially related to drawing up a document or a written report, is considered one of the crucial factors for making individuals valuable in an organization. For the identification of the subject outputs, a total of 64 students from the first and second semesters in 2018 were sampled, and the Wilcoxon signed rank test and paired t-tests were carried out. The results show that all types of communication capabilities have significantly increased at the end of each of the semesters. Also, the overall satisfaction level proved to be higher at the end rather than at the beginning of each semester. This study is especially meaningful because the results suggest concrete ways to apply learner-centered teaching methods for business education.

The Development and Validation of a Core Competency Scale for Startup Talent : Focusing on ICT Sector Employees (스타트업 핵심인재 역량 척도 개발 및 타당화 : 정보통신기술(ICT)분야 종사자를 대상으로)

  • This study aimed to develop a competency evaluation scale tailored to the specific needs of key talent in the ICT startup sector. Existing competency assessment tools are mostly designed for environments in large corporations or traditional small and medium-sized enterprises, failing to adequately reflect the dynamic requirements of rapidly evolving startups. For startups, where a small number of individuals directly impact company success, key talent is a critical asset. Accordingly, this study sought to create a scale that measures the competencies suited to the challenges and opportunities faced by startups, helping domestic startups establish more effective talent management strategies. The research initially selected 71 items through a literature review and in-depth interviews. Based on expert feedback that emphasized the need for more precise and clear descriptions, the item descriptions were revised, and a total of 65 items were developed through four rounds of content validation. Following preliminary and main surveys, a final set of 58 items was developed. The main survey conducted further factor analysis based on the three broad competency factors?knowledge, skills, and attitude?identified in the preliminary survey. As a result, 10 latent factors emerged: 6 items for task comprehension, 6 items for practical experience (tacit knowledge), 6 items for collaboration, 9 items for management and problem-solving, 9 items for practical skills, 4 items for self-direction, 5 items for goal orientation, 5 items for adaptability, 5 items for relationship orientation, and 3 items for organizational loyalty. The developed scale comprehensively covers the multifaceted nature of competencies, allowing for a thorough evaluation of essential skills such as technical ability, teamwork, innovation, and leadership, which are critical for startups. Therefore, the scale provides a tool that helps startup managers objectively and accurately assess candidates' competencies. It also supports the growth of employees within startups, maximizing the overall organizational performance. By utilizing this tool, startups can build a strong internal talent pool and continuously enhance employees' competencies, thereby strengthening organizational competitiveness. In conclusion, the competency evaluation scale developed in this study is a customized tool that aligns with the characteristics of startups and plays a crucial role in securing sustainable competitiveness in rapidly changing market environments. Additionally, it offers practical guidance to support the successful growth of domestic startups and help them maintain their competitive edge in the market, contributing to the development of the startup ecosystem and the growth of the national economy.

  • This study provides the theoretical basis for the self-management of a sports center based on the core competence and technology of the future. The following conclusions were obtained. First, in the influence of self-management on the future core competencies, interpersonal management, training management, and physical management, the factors of self-management have a significant influence on cognitive, affective, and social factors of future core competence. Second, in the influence of self-management on the social skill scale, interpersonal management, training management, and physical management factors of self-management have a significant influence on the self-assertion, self-control, and cooperation of the social technology scale. Third, cognitive, affective, and social factors of the future core competence have a significant influence on the self-assertion, self-control, and cooperation of the social skill scale in the influence of the future core competence on the social skill scale. To improve the self-management and social skills of leaders by maintaining good relationships with the members including fellow instructors, it is essential to take appropriate measures for self-management behaviors considering the individual characteristics and environments of leaders; it appears that effort is important.

Development And Applying Detailed Competencies For Elementary School Students' Data Collection, Analysis, and Representation (초등학생의 데이터 수집, 분석, 표현 수업을 위한 세부역량 개발 및 적용)

  • From 2019, software education has become a required subject for all elementary school students. However, many teachers are still unfamiliar with how the classes should be instructed. So this paper presented the meaning, detailed competencies and achievement standard in order to help in the collection, analysis and representation of data among the computational thinking that are key to software education. And it also suggested the applicability of the classes. The full course of the paper is summarized as follows. First, existing studies have summarized the meaning, detail and achievement standard of data related competencies. Based on this, a preliminary investigation was instructed. Pilot study carried out both FGI and closed questions at the same time. This was done in response to the survey's questionnaire reflecting the opinions of experts. Second, the results of the questionnaire generated as a result of the above were verified for validity, stability, and reliability among the PhD, PhD courses, software education teachers, and software education workers. Third, I developed and applied the five lessons as a class objective as 'Choosing collection method-Select the collection method according to the problem situation.', 'Searching for meaning of data-Understand what the analyzed data mean..', 'Using various expression methods-Use a variety of expression tools.' using the backward design model to integrate education, class, and assessment. As a result, the detailed competencies of data collection, analysis, and representation and achievement standard were presented. This may help in setting specific and specific criteria for what direction classes are recommended when planning data-related classes in elementary schools.

Alternatives to Improving the Curriculum of Teacher Training Institutions to Enhance Future Responsiveness (미래 대응력 제고를 위한 교원양성기관의 교육과정 개선 방안)

  • The purpose of this study was to strengthen the practicality of preliminary teachers in preparation for future education, to respond to structural changes in the teacher training system due to a decrease in the school-age population, and to seek a future-oriented direction for the curriculum of teacher training institutions. To this end, we analyzed the competency diagnosis items of the teacher training institutes in the 5th cycle from 2019 to 2020, and based on the proposal for the development plan for the teacher training system announced by the Ministry of Education in July 2021 and the contents of the 4 discussions, content was presented. The results were as follows. First, to nurture creative and convergence-type talents, teacher training institutions need to develop multi-curricular competency and reorganize the curriculum into a future-oriented curriculum. Second, in order to foster the competence of teachers and preliminary teachers in teacher training institutions, it is essential to strengthen the competence of teachers through the introduction of the metaverse, general teaching methods, and ICT-using teaching methods. Third, teachers' training institutions will introduce and strengthen the 'education practice teacher homeroom system' to strengthen school field-oriented practical competencies, 'dedicated mentor-mentee' centered on seniors and juniors, 'monitoring system' led by university professors, and 'probationary teacher system'

The Effects of Managers on Organizational Performance in NBA and KBL Teams: The Moderating Role of Player Capabilities (프로스포츠 산업 조직 구성원의 역량에 따른 관리자의 역할: 미국프로농구(NBA)와 한국프로농구(KBL)의 감독과 선수단 전력 수준에 관한 실증연구 분석)

  • The role of venture CEO and their intrinsic capabilities on organizational performance can be determined by the level of resource synchronization initiated by the focal managers. Despite the important role of venture CEOs, a systematic lack of in-depth theoretical and empirical studies on ruminating the relationship between the effects of a CEO's capabilities and organizational performance depending on the level of resource synchronization exist for the rationale of investigation. To supplement the limitations of previous studies, this research empirically analyzes the role of managers specifically synchronizing organizational resources that affect organizational performance in the professional sports industry. Based on the entrepreneurship theory and resource-based view (RBV), this research conceptualizes the roles of venture CEO and basketball head coach in the professional sports industry as very similar in terms of organizational structure and performance mechanism embedding entrepreneurial characteristics necessary for managing organizational resources. In this research, we hypothesized (1) organizational resource synchronization will mediate the positive relationship between the ability of professional basketball head coach and organizational performance and (2) the indirect effect of the professional basketball head coach's capabilities on organizational performance mediated by resource synchronization will be moderated by the capabilities of players. To test these hypotheses, we utilized the PROCESS macro model 58 with the empirical data of 9 seasons (2013~2014-2021~2022) of 30 National Basketball Association (NBA) and 10 Korean Basketball League (KBL) teams. The statistical results showed that (1) resource synchronization mediates the positive relationship between professional basketball head coach capabilities and organizational performance and (2) the capabilities of players moderated the indirect effects of the abilities of head coaches on team performance via resource synchronization. This paper contributes to both academic and practical domains of entrepreneurship by empirically testing the research model through objective professional sports data.

  • Strengthening of software education is a big trend worldwide recently. Based on this trend, the Ministry of Education issued a domestic content to enhance software education in September 2014. In this regard, the most important problems are the number of available teachers who can adequately teach computational thinking in the pursuit of new software education and the teaching competencies of teachers in charge of software education. These problems are the same issues emerged in the United Kingdom where computer science education became mandatory for all primary and secondary students from September 2014. This study examines how the United Kingdom and the United States have solved these problems and discusses the realistic solutions for our country.

  • Information literacy which is related various forms of literacy can be defined as a vital competency of individuals in digital based knowledge information society. This basic survey research is aimed to assess information literacy level of the undergraduate students. For this study a proper model of information literacy is used which based 5 Performance processes and 12 performance abilities. The result of this survey is as follows: 1) Among the S performance process elements.'result evaluation' element showed high level competency than other elements. 2) There were high correlations within performance Process elements and performance ability elements. 3) Those items such as academic grade, first experience of information retrieval, and experience of information literacy instruction affect the difference in the level of information literacy.

Sensitivity analysis of reginal drought resilience evaluation factors (가뭄재난 복원력 평가 인자의 지자체 별 민감도 분석)

  • 가뭄은 시간적 지속성이 타 재난에 비해 길고 공간적 피해의 범위와 편차가 크다는 점에서 지역적 특성과 가뭄대응역량에 맞는 적절한 대응과 대책 마련이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 선행연구에서 제시된 바 있는 지역적 가뭄복원력평가 방법론을 기준으로, 가뭄복원력 평가 인자의 민감도 분석을 실시하였다. 가뭄복원력평가 인자는 4Rs (Robustness, Redundancy, Resourcefulness, Rapidity)을 기준으로 총 18개의 지표로 구성되어 있으며, 18개 지표를 산출하는 과정에서 활용되는 세부자료는 정량자료 19개와 담당자 설문조사를 통해 산정되는 정성자료 8개를 포함하여 총 28개가 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 국내 지자체의 복원력 평가 결과 기준, 등급별 1-2개 지자체를 민감도 분석의 대상으로 설정하고, 19개 정량자료 각각의 비율적 변화에 따른 복원력 결과의 변동성을 정량화하여 도출하였다. 또한 19개 정량자료 중, 연관성 및 계층적 관계성이 존재하는 주요 자료 그룹을 구분하고, 대상 자료의 동시적, 연쇄적 변화에 따른 복원력 평가 결과의 영향도를 정성, 정량적으로 평가하였다. 분석 결과 가뭄 복원력에 기여하는 인자의 변화에 따라 가뭄 복원력의 증감 정도가 지자체 별도 상이하게 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 도출된 민감도 분석 결과는 지자체의 현재 가뭄대응역량지표를 기준으로, 가뭄 복원력을 증가시키기 위한 효율적 대책 및 계획 수립을 위한 의사결정에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
