  • In this paper, the scan conversion processor which converts the triangle represented by three vertices into pixel-level screen coordinates, depth coordinate, and color data is designed. The processor adopts scan-line algorithm which decomposes triangle into horizontal spans and then transforms the span into pixel data. By supporting top-left filling convention, it ensures that triangles that share an edge do not produce any dropouts or overlaps between adjacent polygons. It consists of about 21,400 gates and its maximum operating frequency is about 80 Mhz under 0.35um CMOS technology. Because its maximum pixel rate is about 80 Mpixels/sec, it can be applicable to mobile graphics application.

  • As deep learning has become popular, researches which can help explaining the prediction results also become important. Superpixel based multi-scale combining technique, which provides the advantage of visual pleasing by maintaining the shape of the object, has been recently proposed. Based on the principle of prediction difference, this technique computes the saliency map from the difference between the predicted result excluding the superpixel and the original predicted result. In this paper, we propose a new technique of both excluding and including super pixels. Experimental results show 3.3% improvement in IoU evaluation.

  • The pixel-based processing of an image refers to a process of converting a value of one pixel only depending on the value of the current pixel, regardless of the value of another pixel. Pixel-based processing is used as the most basic operation in many fields such as image conversion, image enhancement, and image synthesis. There are processing methods such as arithmetic operation, histogram smoothing, and contrast stretching. In this paper, in order to clearly distinguish the tidal flat region from the tidal flat image of the west coast taken with a drone, we seek a method to find an efficient outline using pixel-based processing in the boundary detection part of the pre-processing process.

  • In order to use the LED video wall in the broadcasting studio, there are a few things to be aware of. First, since the pixels are closely arranged, a moire phenomenon may occur due to a short arrangement period, and second, the distance between pixels (pixel pitch) may be recorded on the image sensor of the broadcasting camera. When moire occurs or pixel pitch is observed, viewers feel uncomfortable. Moire effect can be reduced by adjusting the shooting distance or angle of the camera, but in order to prevent the pixel pitch from being recorded on the image sensor, secure a sufficient distance between the LED video wall and camera. even when the distance secured, the zoom lens used in the broadcasting studio must be operated by appropriately changing the magnification. If the focal length is changed by changing the magnification to obtain a desired angle of view, the pixel pitch may be unintentionally recorded. In this study we propose the range that the pixel pitch is not observed while changing the magnification ratio of the zoom lens when the distance from the video wall is sufficiently secured. The content was played back on the LED video wall and the LED video wall was recorded on the server using an HD camera equipped with a B4 mount zoom lens

  • In order to achieve excellent spatial resolution, very small scintillation pixels are used in detectors of positron emission tomography for small animals. However, by using these very small scintillation pixels, scintillation pixels at the edge of the array may overlap in a flood image. To solve this problem, a light guide capable of changing the distribution of light was used. Depending on the material of the light guide, the light spreading tendency is different, and accordingly, the presence or absence of overlapping is different depending on the material of the light guide used. In this study, instead of the conventional glass light guide, a detector using the same material as the scintillation pixel was designed. A scintillator light guide has a higher refractive index than a glass light guide, so the light spread is different. Flood images were acquired to evaluate the degree of separation of the scintillation pixels at the edge of the detector using the two light guides. The degree of separation was evaluated by calculating the distance between the center and the spatial resolution of the image of two scintillation pixels at the edge of the obtained flood image. As a result, when the scintillator light guide was used, better spatial resolution was shown, and the distance between centers of scintillation pixels was wider. When a detector is constructed using a scintillator light guide instead of a conventional glass light guide, it is possible to use a smaller scintillation pixel, thereby securing better spatial resolution.

  • In this paper, a setting method of initial cluster centers and color image segmentation using superpixels and Fuzzy C-means(FCM) algorithm is proposed. Generally, the FCM can be widely used to segment color images, and an element is assigned to any cluster with each membership values in the FCM. However the algorithm has a problem of local convergence by determining the initial cluster centers. So the selection of initial cluster centers is very important, we proposed an effective method to determine the initial cluster centers using superpixels. The superpixels can be obtained by grouping of some pixels having similar characteristics from original image, and it is projected $La^*b^*$ feature space to obtain the initial cluster centers. The proposed method can be speeded up because number of superpixels are extremely smaller than pixels of original image. To evaluate the proposed method, several color images are used for computer simulation, and we know that the proposed method is superior to the conventional algorithm by the experimental results.

  • The Streganography method for digital images has to insert secret data into the image without image distortion. Side match method is that size of secret data is calculated by difference of embedded pixel value and mean value of side pixels. And the secret value is embedded into the embedded pixel. Therefore, the more secret data increases, the more image distortion increases, too. In this paper, we propose the enhanced method that calculates embedded pixel value by difference of secret value and mean value of side pixels. In proposed method, more secret data is embedded and image distortion has to decreases.

  • This study is analyzed the optical property of red tide pixel by using Landsat-7 ETM+, Landsat-8 OLI and COMS/GOCI image. In order to sample red tide pixel, Landsat-7, 8 true color image were used and obtained coordinate of red tide pixel in the true color image. Normalized water leaving radiance(nLw) and absorption coefficient were obtained from GOCI image in the same coordinate of the true color image. When red tide was not occurred the main absorption range was 412nm and 660nm but when red tide occurred it was 660nm and absorption coefficient in 412nm are drastically reduced. It made no difference of nLw spectrum between red tide pixel and non red tide pixel in nLw, but the absolute value of nLw was low than non red tide pixel, especially 660nm and 680nm wavelength sharply decrease.

  • In this paper, we propose a method about reducing facial blemishes using Morphological Operation. First, we detect skin region using pixel data of RGB's each channel image. we create histogram of skin region R, G, B channel and save 3 pixel values that are high frequency pixel value in each channel. After than, we find facial blemishes using Black-hat operation. The pixel value of facial blemishes changes average of its pixel value, 8-neighborhood pixel value and high frequency pixel values. And the facial blemishes pixel is blurred with median filter. The result of this test with facial pictures that have facial blemishes, we prove that this system that correct the face skin using reduction facial Blemishes is more efficient method than correct the face skin just using lighting up.

  • In this paper, we present background modeling method based on Gaussian mixture model to subtract background for night-time video surveillance. In night-time video, it is hard work to distinguish the object from the background because a background pixel is similar to a object pixel. To solve this problem, we change the pixel of input frame to more advantageous value to make the Gaussian mixture model using scaled histogram stretching in preprocessing step. Using scaled pixel value of input frame, we then exploit GMM to find the ideal background pixelwisely. In case that the pixel of next frame is not included in any Gaussian, the matching test in old GMM method ignores the information of stored background by eliminating the Gaussian distribution with low weight. Therefore we consider the stacked data by applying the difference between the old mean and new pixel intensity to new mean instead of removing the Gaussian with low weight. Some experiments demonstrate that the proposed background modeling method shows the superiority of our algorithm effectively.
