유한요소법을 이용한 고압유압펌프용 오목형 피스톤 조립체의 소켓 형상 설계 (Finite Element Approach to Socket Shape Design of a Concave Piston Assembly for a High Pressure Hydraulic Pump)

  • A systematic approach to socket shape design of a concave piston assembly for a high pressure hydraulic pump of an excavator is presented in this paper. A design model is given and a methodology of socket shape design is proposed. An axisymmetric rigid-plastic finite element method is employed for predicting the approximate socket shape formed by a rotary forming process as well as for simulating the test process for separating the shoe from the piston assembly designed. It is verified that the predictions are in good agreement with the experiments. The approach is successfully applied to developing an optimal concave piston assembly.

  • In this paper, tile characteristics of flow resulting from the configurations of piston head and intake-port of the cylinder in a gasoline-direct-injection engine are investigated numerically. Calculations are carried out from intake process to the end of compression. GTT code which includes the third order upwind Chakravarthy-Osher TVD scheme and κ-ε turbulence model with the law of wall as a boundary condition. As a result, a piston head with a smaller radius of curvature and larger radius gives stronger reverse tumble. It is also shown that as the maximum tumble ratio increases by the configuration of the intake-port the tumble ratio at the end of compression stroke increases. It is concluded that flows at the end of compression stroke can be controlled by the optimum design of intake-port and piston head.

  • NSGA-II와 함께 크리깅 메타모델기반 다목적최적설계 전략을 3차원 CFD 시뮬레이션을 통해 액셜 피스톤 펌프의 밸브 플레이트 형상을 최적화하는데 적용하였다. 펌프의 압력 변동을 저감하고 수력 효율을 최대화하기 위한 최적설계 과정은 두 단계, 즉 (1) 밸브 플레이트 상의 6개 형상 설계 변수를 선정하고 각 설계변수의 변화에 따른 CFD 해석을 수행하며, (2) CFD 데이터를 이용한 NSGA-II에 기반한 다목적최적설계 접근방식으로 최소 맥동 압력과 펌프 효율 설계에 대해 파레토 프론트를 평가하는 것으로 구성된다. 이들 결과로부터 최소 맥동 압력을 가지며 액셜 피스톤 펌프의 목표 효율에 도달하는 최적 절충해를 선택할 수 있었다.

  • In order to develop a universal cryogenic piston pump of small size for increasing utilization of liquid hydrogen, dynamic compression performance of piston pump were evaluated and improvements were also discussed for piston rod and piston tip. The cryogenic piston pump has crosshead structure and inclined cup shape piston tip. As the results, it was found that i) insulation of heat flow from piston-rod part is required for stable operation ii) improving the self-clearance adjustment effect of piston tip and reducing piston eccentricity were desirable to promote pumping pressure and operating range.

  • A numerical analysis is carried out to study the effect of piston shape on the lubrication characteristics between the cylinder and piston in hydraulic piston pumps. The results showed that the shape of piston affect significantly the pressure distribution in the clearance, the lateral force acting on the piston and leakage flow through the clearance. Partially tapered piston is more effective than any other piston shapes because it reduces the possibility of hydraulic locking and improves the volumetric efficiency of the pump.

터널에서 차량의 운행에 의해 생성되는 비정상 유동에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on vehicle-induced unsteady flow in tunnel)

  • 도로터널내 열유동장의 형성은 여러 가지 요인의 영향을 받는다. 즉 차량의 이동에 의한 피스톤 효과, 환기설비의 환기력, 자연풍 영향, 화재시 부력 등에 따라 도로터널내 기류가 형성된다. 차량의 이동에 의한 피스톤 효과는 도로터널내 기류생성의 일차적인 요인이며, 화재시 연기의 초기 거동에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로터널내 차량의 이동에 의해 생성되는 비정상 기류를 분석하기 위해서 단순한 형태의 터널과 차량에 대한 축소모형실험장치를 제작하고 실험을 수행하였다. 기본형, 전두부 사변형, 후두부 계단형의 3가지 형태로 차량의 형상을 변화시켜가며 차량운행에 따라 형성되는 터널내 압력과 기류속도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 터털내 생성되는 압력과 속도의 크기는 "기본형>후두부 계단형>전두부 사변형"의 순서로 증가하였다. 실험결과는 향후 3차원 수치해석 결과와의 비교, 검토를 통해서 수치해석 기술의 보완 및 신뢰성 확보를 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.

  • The reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) is the technology that provides two different types of fuel to the combustion chamber with the advantage of significantly reducing particulate matter and nitrogen oxides emissions. However, due to the characteristics of lean combustion, combustion efficiency is worsened. The conventional type of pistons for conventional diesel combustion (CDC) has mostly been used in the researches on RCCI. Because the pistons for CDC are optimized to enhance flow and target spray, the pistons are unsuitable for RCCI. In this study, a piston that is suitable for RCCI is designed to improve combustion efficiency. The new piston was designed by considering the factors such as squish geometry, bowl depth, and surface area. The experiment was carried out by fixing the energy supply to 0.9kJ/cycle and 1.5kJ/cycle respectively. The two pistons were quantitatively compared in terms of thermal efficiency and combustion efficiency.

액체수소용 초저온 고압 피스톤 펌프의 기밀성 향상에 관한 기초연구 (A Study on Air-tightness of High Pressure Liquid Hydrogen Pumping System at the Low Temperature)

  • As an initial step to develop a liquid hydrogen pump of piston type operated under cryogenic and high pressure, leakage and piston head shape for the piston pump were discussed with temperature and pressure. As the results, the leakage depended on correlation among density, viscosity, clearance area by the low temperature. In order to reduce the leakage, it was found that the air-tightness can be improved by minimizing contact surface between piston and cylinder, and also increasing pressure in-cylinder can reduce piston clearance. Among the proposed piston shapes, D type piston shape had the most air-tightness. D type piston had smaller contact surface than other piston shape and easier expansion of cup shape by pressure. The leakage of D type piston shape was found about 7%, compared with A type piston shape. But it was required that analyze about vapor lock by friction and wear resistance.

시일이 없는 유압 실린더용 피스톤의 이론해석 (Theoretical Analysis of Sealless Piston for Hydraulic Cylinders)

  • In this paper, a theoretical analysis is carried out to study the lubrication characteristics of sealless piston for hydraulic cylinders. The analytical pressure distributions are obtained solving one-dimensional Reynolds equation with partially tapered moving piston. Nearly analytical expressions for lateral forces acting on the piston and leakage flow rate through the clearance are also presented. Using the analytical expressions, the influence of design parameters on lubrication characteristics can be easily evaluated without numerical analysis. Composite-shaped piston which minimizes the leakage flow rate is the optimum in sealless piston for hydraulic cylinder.
