Chronic exposure of solar ultraviolet (UV) light to human skin results in photoaging with wrinkle formation. This study was performed to investigate anti-wrinkle effects of Lindera obtusiloba extract (LO) on UVB-induced wrinkle formation. We first measured cell proliferation and type I pN collagen synthesis activities in normal human dermal fibroblasts. Cell proliferation and type I pN collagen synthesis were increased by 33.8 % and 91.8 %, respectively, compared with no treatment control. SKH-1 hairless mice were topically applied 5 % LO solution for 10 weeks with UVB irradiation three times a week. After 10 weeks, a visual assessment and replica assay were performed on each mouse. According to visual assessment of close-up photos and skin replica, application of 5 % LO solution inhibited UV-induced wrinkle formation in mouse skin as compared to the vehicle-applied control mice. These results indicated that LO could protect skin wrinkle formation caused by chronic photo-irradiation in hairless mice.

Since minerals are in ionic forms in aqueous phase (like deep sea water), it is very hard to incorporate concentrated minerals in gel like cosmetic formulations which are generally composed of carbomer or acrylates polymer. In this study, we invented a salt-resistant network formulation made of silicon copolyol. It was found that the network formulation traps minerals (especially from marine) in a mesh-like silicone copolyol structure. Since the mineral-containing formulation makes a very thin film on the skin, minerals could be easily absorbed into stratum corneum. In 6 weeks in vivo test, it was found that the novel mineral formulation increased the amounts of amino acids, major components of natural moisturizing factors (NMFs), as well as levels of minerals. It was also found that the moisture contents and the brightness of the skin increased.

We are confirmed to the variation of the transfer condition and the functional penetration by the permitted conversion energy on the skin. The given conversion energy is consist of the flow level of penetration control and go to the processing transfer in the skin that is to create the modeling for algorithm. The energy level of control processing was achieved effectively modeling system that was the composition of auto and local control level in the epidermis-dermis layer. Their penetration pulse control system was consisted of conversion energy with reference of fixing situation and recreation of designed apparatus for the energy control function that was converted to capacity by the size, form and combination. Also, the system was shown accurately distribution of conversion at the depth of skin correction. Therefore, conversion modeling was established effectively to separate the division parts for conversion system. We will be possible to progress the improvement effectiveness of the skin and to consist of the continuous penetration control system for functional energy on the skin.

Pycnogenol extracted from pine bark is a component with great antibacterial activity and antioxidant effect. It is applied as a natural anti-inflammatory agent with various medical effects including anti-inflammatory effects, regulation of blood pressure, regulation of the immune system, and inhibition of cancer cell growth. However, research related to cosmetics is limited. Therefore, in this study, the effect of Pycnogenol on the skin was studied through a clinical approach. Changes in skin condition were observed after using cosmetics with Pycnogenol and without Pycnogenol for 6 weeks for 10 clinicians in each group. We observed the effect of pore reduction, wrinkle reduction around eyes, a decrease of the number and angle of loose pores, and reduction of pigmentation. Therefore, cosmetics containing Pycnogenol have the effect of improving skin problems of aging skin.

It was to establish the usage possibility as cosmetic material by testing stimulation of Leuconostoc mesenteroides which were cultured from human scalp's dead skin cell by patching it to the skin in the form of solubilized essence. Cultured L. mesenteroides diluted to 1% concentration and essence which contains it were patched to 31 and 32 participants' back each for 24 hours and established the stimulus figures by the specialists in 30 minutes, 24 hours, and 48 hours after they were taken off. They are both revealed as non-stimuli due to the result of 0.011 and 0 points each and therefore they are safe when used as skin products. Considering the results of this test and the other previous studies which reported the L. mesenteroides as anti-allergic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory, L. mesenteroides is usable for cosmetics and worth further research.

최근 직물전극을 의복에 적용하여 의복을 착용한 상태에서 심전도, 심박과 같은 생체신호를 측정하는 방법이 다양하게 연구되고 있다. 그러나 대부분 직물전극의 경우, 높은 임피던스와 피부-전극 간의 불안정한 접촉으로 인해 생체신호를 측정하는 것은 매우어렵다는 문제점들이 지적되어 왔다. 이 논문에서는 피부-전극 간의 접촉을 향상시키기 위한 전극의 구조를 고안하여 의복에 적용함으로써, 착용자의 피부와 직물전극간의 접촉을 안정화 시킨 후, ECG(Electrocardiogram)를 측정하였다. 본 연구의 실험에 사용한 전극의 특성 분석 방법으로는 전극의 임피던스와 그에 따른 ECG 를 측정하여 SNR 분석을 실시하였다. 직물전극의 두 가지 구조와 직물전극과 트랜스미터 연결 스냅간 접촉 방식에 따른 ECG 측정을 비교한 결과, 전극 구조와 전도성 paste 사용 여부는 모두 ECG 측정에 영향을 미쳤다.

This study aims to investigate statistical variations and relationships of blood pressure (BP), phtotplethysmography (PPG) and cardiovascular parameters on changes in local skin surface temperature (SST) during gradual cooling and heating. Results showed that local SST changes affected the Finometer BP, the PPG waveforms and total peripheral resistance, but not oscillometric BP, heart rate, stroke volume and cardiac output. Therefore, in order to reduce for the errors, temperatures should be controlled or compensated when components of the PPG waveform are used to evaluate cardiovascular status in temperature variation environments.

This report is to introduce a specific acupuncture methods as a cosmetic treatment. I applied wu-xing(五行) acupuncture technique to 11 patients for smooth out skin wrinkles. There were visual improvement of patients' facial skin. This methods cuts SMAS, stimulates dermis, and helps to recover skin volume and generate new dermal tissue by wound-healing mechanism.

본 논문에서는 퍼지 영상처리 기법을 이용하여 손뼈의 X-Ray 영상에서 손뼈의 윤곽선을 추출하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 전 처리 단계로써 감마 상관관계를 이용하여 X-Ray 영상에서 손뼈를 제외한 피부층을 제거한다. 피부층이 제거된 영상에서 손뼈를 뚜렷하게 만들기 위해 샤프닝 기법을 사용한다. 샤프닝 기법이 적용된 영상에서 손뼈의 명암대비를 선명하게 하기 위해 사다리꼴 형태의 Fuzzy Stretching 기법을 적용한다. 사다리꼴 형태의 Fuzzy Stretching 기법을 적용한 영상에서 Canny Edge 기법을 적용하여 손뼈의 윤곽선을 추출한다. 제안된 추출 방법을 20개의 실험 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 16개의 실험 영상에서는 손뼈의 윤곽선이 정확히 추출되었고 4개의 실험 영상에서는 손뼈의 윤곽선이 손실된 상태로 추출되었다.

본 논문에서는 피부영상을 이용한 호흡 반영 음원 조율 방법을 제안한다. 얼굴 영상으로부터 호흡 신호를 추정하기 위해 ROI(Region of Interest)를 지정하고 지정된 영역의 색상 체계를 RGB에서 YCgCo로 변환한다. 피부 관심 영역으로부터 계산된 Cg색상 데이터 평균값에 필터링을 적용하여 호흡 신호를 검출한다. 검출된 호흡 신호를 통하여 사용자의 호흡 상태를 반영한 음원 조율방법을 제안하고, 이를 구현한 응용 프로그램을 소개한다. 구현한 응용프로그램의 성능평가를 위해 피험자 15명을 대상으로 블라인드 테스트와 MOS 평가방법을 사용하였으며, 실험 결과 9명의 피실험자가 호흡을 반영한 음원과 반영하지 않은 음원에 대한 차이를 느꼈다. 또한, MOS 평가방법으로 두 음원의 선호도를 조사한 결과 총 5점 만점 중 호흡을 반영한 음원이 4점, 원음이 3.6점을 얻었으며 이를 통해 피실험자들이 호흡이 반영된 음원을 선호한다는 결과를 확인하였다.
