  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of whole-body vibration training on the flexibility and agility of professional soccer players. Methods: Sixteen professional soccer players participated voluntarily in the study. Subjects were allocated to two groups: the experimental group received whole-body vibration (WBV) and team training, and the control group received only team training. Team training was conducted in 15 sessions of 70 min duration over 3 weeks. WBV training was applied at 40 Hz frequency, 5 sets (1 min-training, 1 min-resting) in a squatting position. Outcomes from sit-and-reach, side-step test, burpee test, and T-test were measured before and after training. To examine pre- and post-intervention differences between the two groups, a paired t-test was used. Independent t-tests were performed to compare pre- and post-test scores and the time difference of the two groups. Results: Significant improvements in sit-and-reach and agility variables were observed in the experimental group (p < 0.05). In particular, flexibility (sit-and-reach) and agility (the side-step test and the burpee test) were significantly different between the two groups (p < 0.05). Conclusion: These findings suggest that whole-body vibration training has a positive effect on performance enhancement for professional soccer players.

  • Recently, as the scale of a construction project has become larger and more complicated, there are many cases where construction projects with complex structures are carried out in a fast track method to save construction duration. In the fast track method, the proper division of construction phases is an important issue in determining the overall project period. This study presents a rational phase division method that can be applied when a construction project with complex structures is carried out as a fast track. For this study, a subdivided work breakdown structure (WBS) is developed using the construction of 4 soccer stadiums as application examples, and the schedule is analyzed by dividing the construction process of major phases. To this end, five proposals are applied to analyze the adequacy of the fast track phase division. For the draft with the minimum construction period, the fast track phase division and the schedule model of by each phase were presented. This methodology can have an application in the appropriate phase division and schedule model by construction phase when fast track is applied in large construction project of a similar size.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the academy sports field for the establishment of advanced sports culture. This study used qualitative research. The research participants were baseball players for 11 years and have been professional baseball players. Another study participant has been a soccer player for eight years. And he has been a football coach for 13 years. The results of this study are as follows. First, the act of entertaining was the form in which parents served sports leaders meals and alcohol. Parents' student athletes had increased chances of playing in the game and were able to receive faithful guidance. Second, the student athletes whose parents did not act of entertaining to the sports leader were discriminated against. The student athletes were harassed by their leaders, their positions changed, and their chances of playing were reduced. Third, parents' student athletes who did not act of entertaining to their leaders either stopped exercising or moved to another school because of discrimination. Eventually, the entertainment culture of academy sports acted as a mechanism to induce sports de-socialization of student athletes, and made students experience a negative aspect of sports culture. As a result, the entertainment culture of academy sports caused discriminatory treatment due to economic inequality. Therefore, the negative entertainment culture of academy sports should be eradicated for the establishment of advanced sports culture.

  • In this paper, the design method of a waveguide broad-wall longitudinal slot array monopulse antenna of X-type monopulse axes is presented, and the method is verified through manufacture and measurement. In the antenna design of this paper, the antenna size is small and the monopulse axes are X-type. Thus, the common continuous aperture distribution fuction is not suitable and the power balance among antenna quadrants should be considered. Also, since the waveguide height is reduced into 0.1 wavelength, the modelling of the slot characteristics is not simple. Thus, in this paper, the aperture distribution is optimized by using random number, and the balance among the quadrants is achieved by applying the quadrant weighting factor during the aperture optimization process. Also, the moment method procedure is accelerated by applying the interpolation technique to some part of the moment matrix, and the moment method procedure is added to the array synthesis program as a subroutine so that the slot characteristics can be calculated directly when it is required. Based on this method, a antenna of 28dBi is designed and manufactured. It is found that the antenna characteristics is similar to design data.

  • This study aims to deduct the extensive improvement types of leisure activities of private security agents using PPA technique and to examine the influence of leisure constraint on the index of participation. Through this process, this study consequently will draw the priority list of investment on the policy for improving the welfare status of private security agents. In this study, judgement sampling was applied to 6 security agencies located in Seoul, 2010, and 267 cases were used in the final analysis. Collected data went through factor analysis, reliability analysis, paired t test, PPA analysis, and regression analysis by using SPSSWIN 17.0. The conclusions were drawn as follows. In regard to the reliability, Cronbach's $\alpha$ was over .768. First, there was a difference between the preference rate and the participation rate which are the participation index of the private security agents' leisure activities. concentrate here in leisure types turned out to be fitness activities, walking/jogging, tourism, a day-long travel, and keep up the cood work in leisure types are movies, domestic tourist attractions, dating, eating out, personal relationship, watching sports, reading, karaoke, TV video watching, drinking etc. low priority in leisure types are water sports, hiking, biking, soccer, photography, ball games, sky sports, playing go/janggi, inline skates, and cooking. Second, the leisure constraint affects the participation index of leisure activities. As the personal constraint, and surrounding conscious constraint which are the subordinate factors of the leisure constraint get bigger, the participation index of favored leisure activities become lower. In contrast, when the difficulties such as structural constraint, time and economical constraint are overcome, participation index of leisure activities go on the rise.

  • This study was performed to compare nutritional supplementation habits for Korean professional soccer players with those for the non-athletic male adults. Information about prevalence and kinds of supplements taken, information sources, nutrition knowledge were collected. Data were obtained from 53 football players working for Korean professional football clubs and 44 non-athletic males, who answered a list of questionnaires which had been prepared in advance. The prevalence of supplement use in the soccer player group (96%) was strikingly higher than in the nonathletic male group (34%). Vitamins were taken most frequently, followed by red ginseng, multivitamin, Chinese medicine and amino acids supplements in the soccer player group, with each player taking 2.96 kinds of supplements in average. Multivitamin was the most popular supplement in the non-athletic male group. The major reason for taking supplements was not to feel and recover from fatigue in both groups. It appeared that the non-athletic males started to use supplements mostly by recommendation of friends or colleagues. Meanwhile, soccer players took supplements on their needs, with half of them (50.1%) provided with nutrition information. The most important information source was coaches for soccer players group, and mass media for the non-athletic male group. The average scores of soccer players group on basic nutrition and athletic nutrition were lower than the respective values of the non-athletic males. Among the soccer players, 68% had taken more than 3 kinds of supplements during the last year; nonetheless, more than half could not perceive the effectiveness of the supplements. Our results show that supplementation practices were widespread in soccer players, and suggest that nutrition education for proper use of supplements and overall health care is needed for soccer players.

  • Perception refers to the process of acquiring all the information about the environment through various sensory organs such as the visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory senses and integrating and interpreting the information transmitted to the brain. The ability to use these perceptions efficiently is called perceptual skill, and perceptual skill is an important factor for improving performance in the field of sports. As a result, many researchers have developed various perceptual training programs to maximize these perceptual skills while they have also progressed on attempting to verify their effects. The perceptual skill training introduced in this study is a training method that focuses on visual perception and is a training method that is applied in the United States and Europe. to improve sports performance. As a result of carrying out the perceptual skills training based on the kicker's important clue (the kicker's hip - the angle of the body and foot before kicking) to the goalkeeper in the situation of a soccer penalty kick improved the ability of predicting the direction of the ball while even in tennis, carrying out the perceptual skills training based on the server's important clue (position, ball, racket) improved the accuracy of the ability to predict in the direction of serve. Recently, there have been numerous research studies that were carried out on such perceptual skills training, but the number of studies conducted are insufficient, especially in Korea where research studies on perceptual training seem to be in a relatively neglected state. In addition, extensive studies need to be carried out to investigate whether the improvement of perceptual skills in the laboratory situation can be transitioned to an actual performance situation. Therefore, in order to elevate sports performance, researchers need to examine the perceptual training program's extent of necessity as well as the research direction regarding its effects.

  • This study was performed to compare food consumption patterns, dietary behavior, and nutrition knowledge between Korean professional soccer players and the non-athletic males. Data were collected from 53 soccer players working for Korean professional soccer clubs and 44 non-athletic males, using self-administered questionnaires. There were significant differences in food consumption frequency between two groups. Meats and eggs, fishes and shellfishes, sea weeds were consumed more frequently by the soccer players. The frequency scores of foods rich in iron, calcium, and protein were also higher in the soccer players compared with the non-athletes. Meanwhile, the consumption of alcohol was more frequent in the non-athletes. As for the cooking method, the soccer players showed higher preference for steaming/parboiling and consumed raw vegetables and fruits more frequently than the non-athletic males (p < 0.05). The average scores of soccer players on nutrition knowledge for basic nutrition and athletic nutrition were lower than the respective values of the non-athletic males. However, the soccer players showed better eating behaviors and dietary habits compared with non-athletic males (p < 0.001). They had well-balanced, regular diet and good habits for chronic disease prevention. No significant relationship could be observed with respect to nutrition knowledge and nutritional behavior. Moreover, the experience of getting nutrition information did not affect either nutrition knowledge score or nutritional habits score, except that for habits of chronic disease prevention in non-athletes. Therefore, it is suggested that more effective and practical nutrition education program be needed for promoting healthy eating habits and improving nutritional status in young males.
