  • As the increase of violent crimes such as robbery, murder, and rape has become a social problem, the government is considering institutionalizing the identification of criminals to prevent crime and to guarantee people's right to know. Such an atmosphere led to the approval of the revision of 'Special Law On the Punishment of Specific violent Crimes' in the National Assembly in April 2010. The revision allows the revelation of the profiles of crime suspects including the pictures of their faces at the investigation stage. However, whether the revision had been effective in preventing crime has not been demonstrated empirically. Moreover, identity revelation is a grave intrusion into privacy and an abuse of human rights such as personal rights and the right to a fair trial, since personal information of criminal suspects would be released to the media prior to the court's final judgements. Also it violates the principle of presumption of innocence, the principles of due process, the principle of double jeopardy, the principle of prohibition against excessive, the principles of clarity, and the principle of liability.

  • Biometric information does not need to be stored separately, and there is no risk of loss and no theft. For this reason, it has been attracting attention as an alternative authentication means for existing authentication means such as passwords and authorized certificates. However, there may be a privacy problem due to leakage of personal information stored in the server. To overcome these weaknesses, FIDO solved the problem of leakage of personal information on the server by using biometric information stored on the user device and authenticating. In this paper, we propose a multiple biometric authentication method that can be used in FIDO environment. In order to utilize multiple biometric information, fingerprints and EEG signals can be generated and used in FIDO system. The proposed method can solve the problem due to limitations of existing 2-factor authentication system by authentication using multiple biometric information.

  • Ubiquitous is an agriculture revolution, the Industrial Revolution, the fourth revolution to equal an information revolution are Ubiquitous. Historic agriculture was revolutionary, but the Industrial Revolution was a revolution of the physics space that was a base of a mankind civilization, and the informatization revolution that Cyber Space saw a prime while world wide web service was expended was a revolution of cyber space. Be charmed with this, and, as for the Ubiquitous revolution, it is achieved a physics space and an intelligent union of cyber space in the space where an off-line space was integrated with compunction on-line. It is combined with a life space naturally, and Ubiquitous technology. Also, I presented the plan that derivation tried a problem about Ubiquitous, and can solve an each problem. Specially, infringement about personal privacy very has a lot of possession to occur in the world that radio communication between all appliances is possible. It is Ubiquitous by becoming the data which is useful to thorough preparation about the Ubiquitous world to come with presenting policy a little technical solution plan about this to the future Republic of Korea. many company has been cracked by crackers information security and everyday new computer virus come out.

  • Recent advancement of USN technology has lent itself to the evolving communication technology for implantable devices in the field of medical service. The wireless transmission section for communication between implantable medical devices and patients is a cause of concern over invasion of privacy, resulting from external attackers' hacking and thus leakage of private medical information. In addition, any attempt to manipulate patients' medical information could end up in serious medical issues. The present study proposes an authentication protocol safe against intruders' attacks when RFID/USN technology is applied to implantable medical devices. Being safe against spoofing, information exposure and eavesdropping attacks, the proposed protocol is based on hash-function operation and adopts session keys and random numbers to prevent re-encryption. This paper verifies the security of the proposed protocol using the formal verification tool, Casper/FDR.

  • Changeable biometrics has been developed as a solution to problem of enhancing security and privacy. The idea is to transform a biometric signal or feature into a new one for the purposes of enrollment and matching. In this paper, we propose a changeable biometric system that can be applied to appearance based face recognition system. In the first step when using feature extraction, ICA(Independent Component Analysis) coefficient vectors extracted from an input face image are replaced randomly using their mean and variation. The transformed vectors by replacement are scrambled randomly and a new transformed face coefficient vector (transformed template) is generated by combination of the two transformed vectors. When this transformed template is compromised, it is replaced with new random numbers and a new scrambling rule. Because e transformed template is generated by e addition of two vectors, e original ICA coefficients could not be easily recovered from the transformed coefficients.

  • Recently, rapid innovation of Smartphone is changing the paradigm of our daily life. Smartphone users, opinion experts more than 99 percent of the economically active population is using, it has reached the saturation past the early stages of formation. Smartphone is equipped with a general purpose OS possible the implementation of high performance environment similar level as a personal computer. Also, it is a mobile communication terminal scalable which can be removed or installed various applications. Such extensibility, it is possible to use different applications through the Apps store. In addition, it is also possible various services which are location based service. However, these services also benefit many but it also has a disadvantage of invasion of privacy and disclosure of personal information. In this research, we aim to analyze factors influencing on perceived value and risk in location based service of Smartphone. In addition, we aim to analyze the causal relationship with perceived value and risk in satisfaction and recommendation intention. This study suggests practical and theoretical implications based on the results.

  • With the advent of digital media environment, distribution way of information changes, legalization of the right to be forgotten is becoming increasingly necessary. However, too much emphasis on protection of personal information to hinder the development of the Internet industry and constitutional rights, including freedom of speech and right to know might be infringed. Thus, the scope of the right to be forgotten there is a need to clarify the rules. First, the rights of personal information can be divided into two. Right to be forgotten can be applied to the right to self-determination of personal information, but the right to self-determination information about social personality cannot be applied to. Second, in the digital media environment, old news article over the internet repeatedly distribution as the new damage is generating. Because old news article is a historical record, the right to be forgotten can not be applied. Thus, appropriate for digital media environment must find new ways.

  • It has been estimated that 'RFID' technology would be playing an important role in the incoming ubiquitous environment. For this reason, many studies on 'RFID' have been conducted and its application has been on the increase in various fields such as finance, medicine, transportation and culture as well as in logistics distribution. However, the communication between Tag and Reader in RFID system has been conducted by wireless communication of radio frequency so that the information on identification could be eavesdropped by the third party maliciously. Such eavesdropped information could be also used as basic information in attacking others; in this regard, it could impair the privacy of its users and the users have avoided using 'RFID.' To solve theses problems, many studies are being performed to different output of tags by renewing ID. However, protocols have been devised without considering an ID Synchronization in the ID renewal process between database and tag in the existing studies. In this regard, this study has suggested a RFID Authentication Protocol while considering the ID Synchronization.

  • Information technology is being applied to the development of ubiquitous healthcare system, which provides both efficient patient care and convenient treatment regardless of patient's location. However, the increasing number of users and medical information give rise to the problem of user management and the infringement of privacy. In order to address this problem we propose a user access scheme based on the RBAC (Role Based Access Control) model. The preceding trust management model for Grid security, FAS(Federation Agent Server), was analyzed and extended to provide supplementary functions for role-based access control in u-Healthcare system. The RBAC model provides efficient user management and access control, but very vulnerable in case when one with valid role tries to leak confidential inner medical information. In order to resolve this problem, a RBAC-WS (Work Status with RBAC) model has been additionally developed which allows only qualified staffs to access the system while on duty. Th proposed RBAC and RBAC-WS model have been merged together and applied to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
