계통연계 풍력발전시스템의 무효전력 보상에 대한 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Reactive Power Compensation in Grid-Connected Wind Power Generation System)

  • Reactive power support is considered to be necessary for dealing with a voltage stability issue with wind turbine system employing squirrel-cage induction generator(SCIG). This paper analyses steady-state characteristics of the SCIG wind turbine system by simulating torque-slip characteristics of SCIG with respect to variations of interconnecting network strength and generator terminal voltage. It also presents dynamics analysis of SCIG wind turbine system on Simulink to investigate the impact of static var compensator(SVC) and static synchronous compensator(STATCOM) on transient stability enhancement. It analysed transient stability with varying fault duration times and compared the transient stability characteristics with varying rated capacities of SVC and STATCOM. It is shown that the STATCOM has a better performance and reactive power support compared to SVC.

  • This paper analyzes the steady-state output characteristics of variable-speed wind turbine systems using doubly-fed induction generators(DFIG) compared with fixed-speed induction generator(FSIG) wind turbine systems. It also presents simulations of a grid-connected wind turbine generation system for dynamics analysis on MATLAB/Simulink and compares the responses between DFIG and FSIG wind turbine systems with respect to wind speed variation, impedance changes and X/R ratio changes of interconnecting circuits. Simulation results show the variation of generator's active output, terminal voltage and fault currents at the interconnecting point. Case studies demonstrate that DFIG wind turbine systems illustrate better performance to 3-phase fault than FSIG's.

  • A creation of large and small scale wind farm was considered to proper already, as according to real Jeonbuk Saemangeum project. A grow larger to be construction of the new and renewable energy thema park as well as creation possibility of large scale wind farm afterward. Therefore, in this paper was proposed a counterplan on D/L protection cooperation of Buan S/S Byunsan D/L (2728 02) power distribution line in case of connected with wind power generator.

  • This Exploiting monitoring program is a program for real-time monitoring the current and voltage that made from wind and solar generators. and this program helps to check efficiency and situation of the wind generator, The main subject of this thesis is about making the more useful real-time monitoring program to get and save the data from wind generator. therefore, it uses LabVIEW for this real-time monitoring program.

  • A tendency to erect more wind turbines can be observed in order to reduce the environmental consequences of electric power generation. As a result of this, in the near future, wind turbines may start to influence the behavior of electric power systems by interacting with conventional generation and loads. Therefore, wind turbine models that can be integrated into power system simulation software are needed. In this paper, a model that can be used to represent all types of variable speed wind turbines in power system simulations is presented. Wind turbine characteristic equation of a wind turbine is implemented in the RTDS, and the real data of weather conditions are interfaced to the RTDS for the purpose of real time simulation of grid-connection wind power system. The outcomes of the simulation demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed simulation scheme in this paper. The results show that the cost effective verifying for the efficiency and stability of WPGS.

  • The paper presents a simulation model and analysis of a grid-connected variable speed wind energy conversion scheme (VSWECS) using the PSCAD/EMTDC software. The modeled system uses a variable speed drive, a fixed pitch angle, a synchronous generator as a wind generator and an AC-DC-AC conversion scheme, which facilitates the wind generation to efficiently operate under varying wind speed while connected to the distribution network. The power output of the WECS is controlled by the AC-DC-AC conversion scheme, the objective of which is to capture the maximum active power under varying wind conditions and to keep the voltage magnitude of the terminal bus at a specific level. Aerodynamic models are applied for a wind turbine model. An simulation analysis of the scheme in terms of its responding to wind variations is also presented.

  • Currently there are very limited amounts of resources and serious amounts pollution. Wind power generation system have an advantage of unlimited and unpolluted amount of energy resource. In this paper, for the application of these characteristic and for the generation to be achieved regard of districts and geographical features the energy continuously. The operation characteristics of system were analyzed through experiments for a trial product.

  • In this paper, the empirical study for a hybrid generation system based on wind power which is leading renewable energy was performed. The simulation for the overall operation of the wind generator, diesel generators, monitoring system and a central controller operated in Demonstration Complex was carried out. In addition, the adequacy of the control algorithm was examined through the experiments.

  • Concerns for wind energy as alternative energy have been highly increased, because of the problems such as the global warming effect, environmental pollution, the exhausting fossil fuel, and so on. Recently, the number of variable-speed wind turbines adopted pitch control apparatus has increased. In this paper, the mechanism between the wind energy and power generating system has been presented to specify the relationship of the energy transfer using the Pitch Control.

  • Photovoltaic and wind power generation have an advantage of unlimited and unpolluted amount of energy resource. In conventional wind generation systems, since the blade rotates at low speed when the velocity of wind decreases their operations are possible only under limited conditions. Therefore they are in trouble of self-generation without the help of auxiliary generation devices outside. The system driven by the wind force in this paper consists of a generator, an invertor, batteries and sets for power storage with a spring. In this paper, the operation characteristics of system were analyzed through experiments for a trial product.
