  • This paper presents monitoring system based on IEC61400-25 for 750kW-class DFIG wind power generation system. It consists of wind turbine PLC, Local and Remote I/O Server, human machine interface, and Web-server. Proposed System has been demonstrated in Daegi-ri, Kangwon-do, which aims to test IEC61400-25 communication capability of monitoring system and evaluate the performance of 750kW-class WTS.

  • This paper analyzes the steady-state operating characteristics of doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG) and fixed-speed induction generator(FSIG) in wind turbine system. It also presents a modeling and simulation of a grid-connected wind turbine generation system for dynamics analysis on MATLAB/Simulink, and compares the responses between DFIG and FSIG wind turbine systems with respect to wind speed variation, 3-phase fault and 1-phase ground fault of the network. Simulation results show the variations of generator's active/reactive output, rotor speed, terminal voltage, fault current, etc. Case studies demonstrate that DFIG illustrates better performance compared to FSIG.

  • This paper proposes a low-cost switched-mode rectifier (SMR) for a small-scale wind turbine with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) system. Also, a sensorless Fuzzy MPPT control is realized by the proposed system. In the PMSG system with the SMR, the synchronous impedance can be replaced as the input inductor of a boost converter. Moreover, the sensorless MPPT control using the Fuzzy technique is carried out by the duty-ratio regulation of the SMR. The relation between the generating power and the duty-ratio is ruled by the chain rule. The wind turbine model is implemented by the squirrel cage induction motor and generated the variable torque when the generator speed is varied. To verify the performance of the proposed system, simulation and experimental results are executed.

  • Currently there are very limited amounts of resources and serious amounts pollution. Wind power generation system have an advantage of unlimited and unpolluted amount of energy resource. In this paper, for the application of these characteristic and for the generation to be achieved regard of districts and geographical features the energy continuously. The operation characteristics of system were analyzed through experiments for a trial product.

  • This paper presents an active and reactive power compensator for the wind power system with multi-polar synchronous generator. The proposed compensator is composed of a charge/discharge PWM converter and battery. The output power of a wind power system changes irregularly according to the variation of wind speed. The developed system is able to continuously compensate the active and reactive power. The operational feasibility of the proposed model was verified by simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • 본 논문에서는 배전지능화시스템과 정보 연계, 미래 지능형전력망 운용 및 태양광, 풍력, 연료전지등과 같은 신 에너지전원의 단지를 효율적으로 유지관리하기 위하여, 유 무선 네트워크 구성요소의 특성을 해석하고, 이를 바탕으로 원격 감시제어장치를 제작하였다. 이 감시제어장치는 한국기술교육대학교 캠퍼스 내에 설치되어 있는 50KW급 태양광전원장치를 대상으로 유 무선 네트워크 알고리즘을 기반으로 제작한(AutoBase) 감시장치, PLC를 이용한 제어장치로 구성된다. 본 연구에서 제안한 장치를 이용하여 태양광전원의 출력특성을 분석한 결과, 원격지에 설치된 대규모 태양광단지의 보수유지 관리에 필요한 유무선 네트워크를 이용한 원격감시제어기술의 대안으로, 스마트그리드 구축에 기여할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Large offshore wind farms using high voltage direct current transmission system (HVDC) have been considered and exploited in many countries in the world. The maintenance of the stable operation of wind farm and interconnected system is an important issue, especially in the case of fault. To ensure the stable operation after fault clearance, the PCC voltage must be restored as soon as possible and meet the grid code requirement. This paper will evaluate the PCC voltage recovery ability of a large offshore wind farm as it is connected to a weak grid via a VSC-HVDC.

  • The insertion of the crowbar system in the doubly fed induction generator rotor circuit for a short period of time during grid disturbance enables a more efficient way of limiting transient rotor current and hence protecting the rotor side converter (RSC) and the DC - link capacitor. When crowbar is activated at fault occurrence and clearance time, RSC is blocked while DC -link capacitor and the grid side converter (GSC) can be controlled to provide reactive power support at the PCC and improve the voltage which helps to comply with grid codes. In this paper, control strategies for crowbar system to limit the rotor current during fault is presented with RSC and GSC controllers are modified to control PCC voltage during disturbance to enhance DFIG wind farm to comply with some strict grid codes. Model simulated on MATLAB/Simulink verify the study through simulation results presented.

  • 최근 에너지 절약에 대한 관심이 고조되면서 기존 광원보다 효율이 좋은 광원개발이 계속되고 있으며 그 대표적 것이 고출력(high-power) LED이다. 고효율 LED의 개발로 인해 일부에서는 일반 조명용으로 사용하려는 연구가 진행 중이며 풍력과 태양광 발전을 이용한 야간 조명용 전원으로 사용하려는 연구도 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 조명용 광원으로 직류 전원을 이용한 고출력 LED의 사용 가능성을 확인하고자 하며 기존 방식에 비하여 보다 안정적이고 효율이 좋은 새로운 LED 전원구동장치를 제안한다. 제안된 방식은 기존의 방식에 리액터의 크기를 줄일 수 있었으며 효율이 개선됨을 확인하였다.
