  • In this study, an analysis was conducted to investigate the process how information technology(IT) quality affects organizational performance. Acquisition of IT by itself is not sufficient for the improvement of organizational performance, which additionally requires the operations activity using IT to meditate between IT and organizational performance. This study classified the IT quality into functional quality and operational quality. The functional quality is defined as intrinsic characteristics of IT itself while the operational quality is defined as effective support of IT for organizational management activities. Our research model proposed that the functional quality has indirect effect meditated by the operational quality on organizational performance. The statistical test using structural equation modelling in empirical research showed insignificant direct effect and significant indirect meditation effect of the functional quality on organizational performance via the operational quality. This paper concludes with contribution of this study, managerial implication of the research findings and further research issues.

  • Given that SME workers are the driving force of national competitiveness and the basis and cornerstone of the industry, it is meaningful to study workers' job satisfaction and the factors that affect job satisfaction. In addition to variables related to corporate competitiveness and organizational justice, this study introduced variables such as environmental(E) activities, social(S) activities, and governance(G) activities, which th national government uses as major management evaluation indicators. Therefore, a literature study and empirical analysis were conducted on how self-efficacy affects job satisfaction when workers are faced with a changed work environment. To conduct this study, 300 copies of data were collected from workers in small and medium-sized enterprises and used for analysis. For data analysis, the SPSS statistical program (Ver. 25.0) was used. The study finds, first, that product or service quality and employee competency among corporate competitiveness had a significant positive(+) effect on job satisfaction. Secondly, among ESG management activities, social(S) activities and governance(G) activities were found to have a significant positive(+) effect on job satisfaction. Third, among organizational justice, distribution justice and procedural justice were found to have a positive(+) effect on job satisfaction. Fourth, self-efficacy was found to mediate the effect of product or service quality, employee competency, social(S) and governance(G) activities among ESG management activities, and procedural justice among organizational justice on job satisfaction. The academic value of this study is that it empirically analyzed the factors that ESG management activities affect workers' jobs,. As a result, it was confirmed that workers were satisfied with their jobs by actively showing interest in social(S) activities and governance(G) activities among ESG management activities and participating in corporate management. In addition, workers sensitive to changes in the external environment can become satisfied with their jobs through self-efficacy when SMEs actively enhance corporate competitiveness, execute ESG management activities, and provide a fair organizational culture. Finally, this study suggests that there's a possibility of improving the competitiveness of SMEs through a virtuous cycle created by a change in perception of job conversion and a decrease in turnover.

  • This study is intended to look into the structural relationship between SCM activity, process innovation and quality performance in small and medium sized enterprisers(SMEs). To achieve this, a survey was empirically carried out to 354 SCM operating officers and managers who perform the SCM activities in small and medium sized manufacturing firms. The results are summarized as follows. Overall, the SCM activity and process innovation had a significant effect on the quality performance, having a structural relationship with the quality performance in SEMs. This implies that the strategic alliance of the SCM activities and competence concentration based on technology development in SEMs can organize the unity through organizational members' information sharing. In other words, when the information integration supports the compatibility and reliability of shared information system by raising technological competence through this, the process innovation can lead to non-financial cost reduction, product quality, delivery compliance and inventory cost reduction as quality performance of the structured process, management and distribution.

  • In order to maximize the effect of TQM in the Korean industry, quality circle activity as a bottomup management should be expanded and revitalized. Quality circle activity can be regarded as a kind of knowledge activity where new knowledge is created and knowledge is shared in the economy. This paper proposes new metrics of intangible effect as knowledge assessment focusing on the intellectual capital aspect of quality circle activity, that may be useful for revitalizing quality circle activity from viewpoints not only of financial effect but also of intellectual capital aspect. New metrics of intangible effect consist of two factors: the intellectual capital effect and the intellectual maturity effect. In order to test the validity of new metrics, a case study of 11 companies was done. The result of the case study is that two factors as an intangible effect of quality circle activity should be evaluated to identify the total effect of quality circle activity correctly.

  • Quality is a critical competitive factor in today's environment because of the impact of quality on costs and delivery. Many companies regard quality as a key concept of company strategy in order to achieve the competitive edge. Measuring and reporting quality cost is the first step in quality management program. The supposition of quality cost model is that investment in prevention activities will bring rewards from reduced failure costs, and that further investment in prevention activities will show profits from reduced appraisal costs. In this study, the degree of quality cost deviation is conceptualized. This means a deviation between the ideal and present ranking in the amounts of quality cost categories. This study analysed that the effect of its deviation on quality management activity and performance variables. However, there are no difference in these variables. The major reason is that most of companies are endeavoring for quality management but operating quality cost system unsystematically. The review against a prevention and appraisal activity is necessary.
