Establishment of Standard Construction Process of the Infill Modular Construction System (인필 모듈러 건설시스템의 표준 시공프로세스 구축)

  • Lately the Infill Modular Construction System which meets the domestic standards about the structure and fireproof performance and which is applied to the remodeling techniques is being emphasized. In order to introduce the Infill Modular Construction System to domestic market successfully, the development of insufficient element technologies and systematic analysis of process should be preceded. This research aims to establish of Standard Construction Process, as advanced research for the settlement of the Infill Modular Construction System. As advanced research for the activation of the Infill Modular Construction System, this research aims to develop Infill Unit Module's mobile device. This is expected to improve work efficiency. In addition organizing optimized Standard Construction Process by steady work analysis and improvement is being planned.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method for converting the existing 2D processes in the design and construction phase of civil engineering, to the future BIM-based processes. First, we compare and analyze the actual application processes of the outputs of the existing 2D method and the outputs of the 3D BIM method, for the whole process of BIM design of earthworks and road structures and integrated utilization of quantity, process(4D) and construction cost(5D), in view of life-cycle. The proposed method acquire the outputs of the design phase integrating IFC international common standard file information and CBS/OBS/WBS standard classification scheme information, and acquire the outputs of the construction stage by using an integrated utilization module for quantity, process(4D) and construction cost(5D). Ultimately, we intend to commercialize the step by step technologies for BIM design and construction in civil engineering by using the proposed method.

  • Nowadays, the enormous information from each industry has been brought out. According to the advanced information technology, those data have been useful to the point of Cost & Time in the domestic construction industry. Due to the temporary characteristics of construction industry, the various information have only been used just one time and not recycled. There are few studies for the use and management of construction information. Compared with other stages in project life-cycle, the construction stage includes the most important and various information from field. It will be desirable that one should study for developing the use of construction information. With this thesis, this study suggests the conceptual classification model for construction information management.

A Process Model of Eco-friendly Demolition Work for Wall Type Aged Housing Remodeling (친환경 리모델링 철거공사 프로세스 모델 (벽식구조 노후 공동주택을 대상으로))

  • Demolition work is a precedence activity that is performed earlier than other remodeling activities. And demolition work is one of the critical path activities. So, demolition work is needed for systematic plan and management. However, contractors of the remodeling project established a rough plan and did not consider recycling wastes, safety of workers and structural stable of building. To improve this problem, a eco-friend process model of remodeling project is needed to be established. The process model is composed of five phases; 1) survey and analysis of general condition of demolition work, 2) prepare documents of demolition work 3) establishing demolition work plan, 4) demolition and inspection, 5) post-demolition management. Especially, demolition documents are based on establishing WBS, selecting the equipment and method, waste management and structure reinforcement. A process model of eco-friend demolition work is developed by using IDEF0 method.

  • This study analyzed main causes of claims in EPC/Turnkey projects. For this purpose, this study referred to the FIDIC silver book, which lists the international standard contract conditions for EPC/Turnkey projects. The most frequent cause of claim was delay. A process was then proposed to determine whether the owner or contractor was the responsible party when the delay claim occurred. The proposed process was for damages for delay which is the conditions of contract for indemnities against delay claim. The process was based on conditions of the contract of two previous EPC/Turnkey projects that were constructed in 2010, the FIDIC silver book, as well as the obligations of owner and contactors. The proposed process is applicable depending on the conditions of the contract and the owner's meaning. Furthermore, by identifying the responsible party, this study will contribute in identifying the possible claim types before concluding a contract and writing the specific contract.

A Conversion Process to IFC Files for Integrated Use of Open and Web-based BIM Quantities, Process, and Construction Costs in Civil Engineering

  • This paper designs and proposes a file conversion process to IFC file, the international standard file format for BIM, in order to ensure mutual compatability and manageability among users of commercial BIM modeling and design softwares in the civil engineering area. The proposed process insert additional properties consisting of the properties of quantity calculation codes and properties of CBS/OBS/WBS standard classification scheme, to the three dimensional object shape information of the converted IFC files, using add-in converters for commercial BIM modeling softwares. In addition, a process of integrated use of IFC files for open web-based quantity, process(4D), and construction cost(5D) management is additionally designed and implemented. Based on these works, the ultimate goal of this study is to propose a novel process for integrated use of open web-based quantity, process(4D), and construction cost(5D), from the design stage of BIM modeling to the final construction stage in the civil engineering area.

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 건설산업의 대형화, 복잡화 등으로 인해 설계와 시공의 불확실성 증가로 대두되고 있는 개방형 BIM 환경에서의 품질검토를 관점으로 표준적인 검증 프로세스에 활용되고 있는 표준 포맷인 IFC를 기반으로 호환성을 시험하였다. 개방형 BIM기반의 품질 검토는 물리정보 품질, 논리정보 품질, 데이터 품질로 구분할 수 있으며, 본 연구에서는 각 품질 검토의 구분에 따라 다양한 측면으로의 호환성 시험을 수행하였다. 그에 따라 호환성 시험 결과를 도출하고, 현 상황의 문제점 및 해결방안을 제시하여 향후 효율적인 개방형 BIM 환경에서의 품질 검토를 위해 필요한 요구 조건 및 적용 방향을 제시하였다.

A Study on the Work Crew Based for the Estimation from Construction Analysis of Cement Liquid Waterproofing in Apartment House (공동주택 시멘트 액체방수 공사의 현장분석을 통한 작업조 기반 품셈에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to make improvements to the standard estimation process used to estimate reasonable costs for construction work, and to suggest a work crew based estimation using a new cost estimation model. In addition, work crew shift combination and construction process were systematically organized in order to improve the estimation technique and the construction capability of the cement liquid waterproofing work for apartment buildings. In addition, in terms of manpower and productivity, analyses were performed on the cement liquid waterproofing work for apartment buildings with net areas between $84-85m^2$ and $125-184m^2$, and the results were then compared with those calculated using the conventional work-crew based estimation method. Through this study, when the results of this study and those calculated by the conventional method were compared, for apartments with the net area of $84-85m^2$, the differences between specialists were shown to be 1.91 times to 2.13 times on average, while they were 8.82 times to 9.52 times between normal workers on average. For apartments with the net area of $125-184m^2$, the differences betweenspecialists were shownto be 1.89 times to 2.07 times on average, and 8.57 times to 9.38 times on average between normal workers.

  • Because that construction project is usually uncertain and the plan of it changes frequently, it is difficult to make a reliable and feasible plan for it. As the BIM technology is developed, we can simulate the future of the construction project visually and make more reliable plan. However, data production efficiency is not so high, it is used just for animation and presentation usage. Although, a lot of construction simulation systems are developed, it is difficult to measure performance of them. In this study, we defined the construction simulation work process and the scenarios to measure performance of them. The performance measurement method using simulation process scenario can make possible benchmark test of them.
