Development of Hydro-Mechanical Coupling Method for CO2 Sequestration and Its Application to Sleipner Project (이산화탄소 지중저장을 위한 수리-역학 연동 해석 기술 개발 및 적용 - 슬라이프너 프로젝트)

  • $CO_2$ sequestration for alleviating global warming is a hot issue in the world. In this study, TOUGH2 and FLAC3D were combined for analyzing the hyro-mechanical coupling behaviors expected in $CO_2$ sequestration and applied it to Sleipner project carried out in Norway. In the analysis, the influence of pore pressure on in situ stress was considered and the influence of caprock permeability on hydro-mechanical behaviors was analyzed. In the condition of constant injection rate, pressure and saturation at the injection well, liquid and gas saturation in rock, major and minor stress variations with time and distance from the injection well, and horizontal and vertical displacements after injection could be investigated. The major principal stress was quickly increased in the early stage and then slowly decreased to a stable value, which was higher than the initial value. In contrast, the minor principal stress returned to initial value after some increase in the early stage. Surface upheaval was steadily increased and it was up to 15mm in 2 years after injection. When the caprock's permeability was changed from $3e-15m^2{\sim}3e-18m^2$, it was found that the injection well pressure and surface upheaval were inversely propotional to the permeability.

고효율 태양전지를 위한 ICP-RIE기반 결정질 실리콘 표면 Texturing 공정연구

  • 결정질 실리콘을 포함하는 태양전지의 광전효율은 표면에 입사되는 태양광의 반사를 제외하면 흡수된 광자에 의해 생성되는 전자-정공쌍의 상대적인 비율인 내부양자효율에 의존하게 된다. 실제 생성된 전자-정공쌍은 기판재료의 결정상태와 전기광학적 물성 등에 의해 일부가 재결합되어 2차적인 광자의 생성이나 열로서 작용하고 최종적으로 전자와 정공이 완전히 분리되고 전극에 포집되어 실질적인 유효전류로 작용한다. 16% 이상의 고효율 결정질 실리콘 태양전지양산이 요구되고 있는 현실에서 광전효율 개선 위해 가장 우선적으로 고려되어야 할 변수는 입력 태양광스펙트럼에 대한 결정질 실리콘 표면반사율을 최소화하여 광흡수를 극대화하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 이의 해결을 위하여 대기와 실리콘표면 사이의 굴절률차이가 크면 클수록 태양광스펙트럼에 대한 결정질 실리콘의 광반사는 증가하기 때문에 상대적으로 낮은 굴절률의 $SiO_x$$SiN_x$와 같은 반사방지막을 광입력 실리콘표면에 증착하여 광반사율 저감공정을 적용하고 있다. 이와 더불어 결정질 실리콘표면을 화학적으로 혹은 플라즈마이온으로 50-100nm 직경의 바늘형 피라미드형상으로 texturing 함으로 광자들의 다중반사 등에 기인하는 광흡수율의 증가를 기대할 수 있기 때문에 태양전지효율 개선에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 이해된다. 본 실험에서도 고효율 다결정 실리콘 태양전지 양산공정에 적용 가능한 ICP-RIE기반 결정질 실리콘표면에 대한 texturing 공정기술을 연구하였다. Double Langmuir 플라즈마 진단시스템(DLP2000)을 적용하여 사용한 $SF_6$$O_2$ 개스유량과 챔버압력, 플라즈마 파워에 따른 이온밀도, 전자온도, 포화이온전류밀도, 플라즈마포텐셜의 공간분포를 모니터링하였고 texturing이 완료된 시료에 대하여 A1.5G 표준태양광스펙트럼의 300-1100nm 파장대역에서 반사율을 측정하여 그 변화를 관찰하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 간략히 정리하면 Si texturing에 가장 적합한 플라즈마파워는 100W, $SF_6/O_2$ 혼합비는 18:22, 챔버압력은 30mtorr 등이고 이에 상응하는 플라즈마의 이온밀도는 $2{\sim}3{\times}10^8\;ions/cm^3$, 전자온도는 14~15eV, 포화전류밀도는 $0.014{\sim}0.015mA/cm^2$, 플라즈마포텐셜은 38~39V 범위 등이었다. 현재까지 얻어진 최소 평균반사율은 14.2% 였으며 최적의 texturing패턴 플라즈마공정 조건은 이온에 의한 Si표면원자들의 스퍼터링과 화학반응에 의한 증착이 교차하는 플라즈마 에너지 및 밀도 상태인 것으로 해석된다.

Lipid Extraction from Spirulina platensis using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide and Analysis of Fatty Acid Compositions in Extracts (초임계 이산화탄소를 이용한 Spirulina platensis로부터 지질추출 및 지방산 조성 분석)

  • This study was performed to obtain information about the extraction conditions of lipids from microalgae, Spirulina platensis, using supercritical fluid $CO_2$. Regardless of extraction temperature conditions, the extracted lipid contents increased as pressure increased, but decreased at 8500 psi on each temperature. The highest yield of extracted lipid content showed in the condition of 5500psi at $50^{\circ}C$, and extracted lipid content was about $20\%$. In same pressure the contents of C18 : 2 and C20 : 0 increased as temperature increased, but fatty acids composition were $60\~75\%$ saturated, $12\~20\%$ monounsaturated and $13\~31\%$ polyunsaturated regardless of extraction conditions. The C18 : 3 was only detected in the condition of 5500psi at $50^{\circ}C$ but the content was very little.

Tensile Strength of Composite Laminate Repaired Using Heat-blanket and a Novel Pressurization System (히트블랑켓과 새롭게 개발된 가압장치를 이용해 수리한 복합재 적층판의 인장강도 연구)

  • In the case of a conventional composite patch repair using a heat blanket, the adhesive is pressurized using only a vacuum bag. In this study, however, a pressurization system has been developed to apply additional air pressure on the vacuum bag. In order to verify the performance of the developed system, the composite laminates were repaired with scarf patches and then tested under tensile load to be compared with the strength of the defect-free laminate. Tensile tests were also conducted on specimens with the same configuration but bonded in an autoclave. As a result of the test, the tensile strengths of the specimens repaired using the heat blanket with vacuum only without external pressure, the specimens repaired with additional pressure by the developed system, and the specimens repaired with the same external pressure in an autoclave, showed the strength recovery ratios of 74.9, 81.0, and 78.2%, respectively. The results of the tensile test after moisture saturation and the dried fatigue test also showed that the strength recovery ratios of the specimens repaired under the external pressure of 1 atm using the developed system are slightly higher than that of specimens bonded in autoclave.

  • In the disposal environment, gases can be generated at the interface between canister and buffer due to various factors such as anaerobic corrosion, radiolysis, and microbial degradation. If the gas generation rate exceeds the diffusion rate, the gas within the buffer may compress, resulting in physical damage to the buffer due to the increased pore pressure. In particular, the rapid movement of gases, known as gas breakthroughs, through the dilatancy pathway formed during this process may lead to releasing radionuclide. Therefore, understanding these gas generation and movement mechanism is essential for the safety assessment of the disposal systems. In this study, an experimental apparatus for investigating gas migration within buffer was constructed based on a literature review. Subsequently, a gas injection experiment was conducted on a compacted bentonite block made of Bentonile WRK (Clariant Ltd.) powder. The results clearly demonstrated a sharp increase in stress and pressure typically observed at the onset of gas breakthrough within the buffer. Additionally, the range of stresses induced by the swelling phenomenon of the buffer, was 4.7 to 9.1 MPa. The apparent gas entry pressure was determined to be approximately 7.8 MPa. The equipment established in this study is expected to be utilized for various experiments aimed at building a database on the initial properties of buffer and the conditions during gas injection, contributing to understanding the gas migration phenomena.

Soft Magnetic Properties of FeTaNC Nanocrystalline Thin Films (FeTaNC 초미세결정박막의 반응가스 분압에 따른 자기특성 변화)

  • Magnetic properties and microstructures of FeTaNC thin films, which were deposited by magnetron reactive sputtering rrethod, were investigated as a function of $CH_{4}$ and $N_{2}$ gas partial pressures. Magnetic properties of FeTaNC films depended on total reactive gas pressure as well as $CH_{4}/N_{2}$ pressure ratios. For reactive gas partial pressures of 5~10 %, optimum magnetic properties were observed in the FeTaNC films with proper $CH_{4}/N_{2}$ ratio. On the other hand, at 15% of gas partial pressure, FeTaN and FeTaC films showed superior properties to FeTaNC films. Above 15%, the magnetic properties of films rapidly degraded due to an excess incorporation of C and/or N atoms. Excellent soft magnetic properties of 17 kG of Bs, 0.3 Oe of He, and 4000 of $\mu'$(at 5 MHz) were obtained in the FeTaNC films. High permeabilities of FeTaNC films could be explained by the Fe lattice distortion caused by N atoms, hence reduction of magnetic anisotopy. While precipitated TaN and TaC particles effectively supress the growth of $\alpha-Fe$ grains leading to a good soft magentic properties, FeN and FeC phases such as $Fe_3N$, $Fe_4N$, FexC have detrimental effects.

The Crystallographic and Magnetic Properties of $Fe_{1-x}Co_x$System ($Fe_{1-x}Co_x$계의 결정구조와 자기적인 성질)

  • The crystallographic and magnetic properties of the system of $Fe_{1-x}Co_x$(x=0.2 and 0.4) prepared by microwave arc-melting with the maximum power of 3.5 kW and a iron-foil with thickness of 25 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ have been studied by the methods of X-ray diffraction and the measurement of the magnetic hysteresis using the vibrating sample magnetometer at room temperature. The samples were prepared in three different ways: First, pellet form pressed under the pressure of 9,000 N/$\textrm{cm}^2$. Second, the sheet cold rolled. Third, thin sheet treated with the temperature of 90$0^{\circ}C$. The X-ray diffraction pattern of the sample prepared by the first method shows that the crystal structure of the sample is bcc as same as that of Fe with a good uniformity. The iron-foil has the coercivity of 43 Oe and the initial slope of magnetization of 0.328 emu/gOe. The coervicity and magnetization of the sample prepared by the second method increased as the Co content increased. But the initial slop of the magnetization decreased as the Co content increased. This means that the displacement of domain wall is suppressed by the increases of coercivity as the Co content increased. The saturation magnetization of the samples made by the third method increased. On the other hand, the coercivity of these samples decreased. The increase of saturation magnetization of the samples seems to be related to the changes in X-ray intensity after heat treatment. Also some magnetic parameters of the samples were calculated by using a simple model and compared with other values.

Estimation of Parameters in Water Retention Function using Volumetric Pressure Plate Extractor (체적기압판 추출장치를 이용한 물보유함수의 매개변수 추정)

  • In this study the experiment on water retention cure was conducted by using a volumetric pressure plate extractor for two different soils (SUS and KUS). When the volumetric pressure plate extractor is used, the volume of water removed from the soil sample at each increasing pressure step can be accurately measured and retained. When pressure values are subsequently reduced, the volume of water that returns to the soil can then also be accurately measured. The hysteresis effect of water retention curve was considered in the experiment. Parameters of water retention function were estimated by fitting experimental data with three proposed equations. Results of estimation showed that parameters of Gardner, Brooks-Corey and van Genuchten equations were found to be associated with air-entry value and width of size distribution. Consequently van Genuchten equation was proved to be best fined through the measured data points.

  • This paper presents a two-phase model for hybrid rocket internal ballistics design using $N_2O$ as oxidizer The two-phase model results are compared with data obtained from static firing test. Two-phase model is suitable for blow-down type with saturated compressible fluid as $N_2O$, presented the result by Part 1. HDPE as Fuel, and $N_2O$ as oxidizer were used during the static firing test. The combustor were designed for an average thrust of 30 kgf where oxidizer tank pressure in set to 50 bar. The numerical results of internal ballistic showed good agreements with static firing test results where thrust, oxidizer tank pressure and chamber pressure are compared.

Condensation Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop in Flat Tubes with Different Aspect Ratios (종횡비가 다른 납작관 내 응축열전달 및 압력손실)

  • In this study, condensation heat transfer coefficients of R-410A were obtained in flattened tubes made from round tubes with an inner diameter of 5.0 mm. The saturation temperature was $45^{\circ}C$; the heat flux, 10 kW/$m^2K$; the mass flux, 100-400 kg/$m^2s$; and the quality, 0.2-0.8. The results showed that the effect of the aspect ratio on the condensation heat transfer coefficient depended on the flow pattern. For annular flow, the heat transfer coefficient increased as the aspect ratio increased. For stratified flow, however, the reverse was true: the pressure drop increased as the aspect ratio increased. Existing correlations adequately predicted the heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops of the flattened tubes.
