  • 한국, 중국, 일본의 작가 107명이 참가한 '타이포 잔치 2011: 서울 국제 타이포그래피 비엔날레'가 지난 8월 30일부터 9월 14일까지 예술의 전당 서예박물관에서 열렸다. 세계 유일의 타이포그래피 비엔날레인 이번 행사는 문화체육관광부(장관 정병국) 주최, 한국공예 디자인문화진흥원(원장 최정심), 한국타이포그래피학회(회장 원유홍), 예술의 전당(사장 김장실) 공동 주관으로 '동아시아의 불꽃(동아화화(東亞火花), Fire Flower of East Asia)'이라는 주제로 열렸다. 한국, 중국, 일본 3개국의 타이포그래피 대표 작가 107명이 전시에 참가했다.

  • 여과포에 의한 분진 포집기술은 다른 분진포집기술에 비해 가장 우수한 집진성능을 나타낼수 있는 집진기술로서 최근에 와서는 분진발생공정, 연소설비 및 폐기물 소각설비의 중금속 물질, 유해 기체 및 분진의 동시포집 적용 등 광범위한 산업분야에 적응되어 운전되고 있다. 배출기체의 악조건과 습도가 다량 함유된 조건에서는 여과포 집진장치의 적용이 어렵다고 생각되고 있지만, 처리 기체의 조건 및 포집분진의 특성에 적합한 여과포의 개발과 탈진방식(cleaning method)의 개선으로 인해 해결이 가능하게 되었다. 또한 여과포에 의한 분진포집기술은 장치를 통과하는 배출기체의 속도가 다른 집진기술에 비해 느려 여과포 면적이 상대적으로 넓어져서 장치의 설치면적이 많이 소요된다는 단점이 있으나, 여과포를 원간으로 봉재하여 서로 접근시켜 많은 갯수를 다단으로 배치함과 동시에 연속탈진시스템(on-line cleaning)을 채택함으로써 장치에 소요되는 면적을 최소한으로 줄이려는 연구가 계속되고 있다. 대체적으로 여과포에 의한 분진포집기술의 산업체 적용에서 장치의 압력손실은 약 100 - 100 $mmH_2O$ 정도의 범위가 대부분이고 분진 포집효율은 거의 99.9%에서 99.99% 정도 달성이 가능하다[1,2,3].

  • 포도 생과의 수입 개방으로 1996년에 2,400톤, 1997년에 3,500톤을 수입한 바 있다. 현재까지는 칠레산 포도가 3월부터 5월 사이에 수입되어 그 동안 안정적으로 발전해 오던 시설포도의 수익성이 크게 떨어진 바 있으나 수입종 과실의 품질, 기호성, 신선도, 잔류 농약의 문제 등으로 소비자들이 국산 포도를 선호하고 있어 크게 문제되지 않고 있다. 그러나 앞으로의 포도의 지속적인 수입 개방으로 인하여 좋은 품질의 포도가 수입될 것으로 예상된다. (중략)

Downy Mildew Resistance of Grape Cultivars (Vitis spp.) under Greenhouse and Field Condition (포도 주요 품종간 노균병 저항성 검정)

  • The objective of this research was to develop a screening system for selection of grape downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola)-resistant grape cultivars or seedlings under greenhouse condition. Inoculum concentrations ranging from $10^4$ to $10^5spores/mL$ for screening of resistance were evaluated and $5{\times}10^4spores/mL$ was optimum. Of the tested 14 grape cultivars, Campbell Early and Niagara were resistant to grape downy mildew, Sheridan and Cheongsoo were moderate resistant, while Kaiji, Red Queen and Ruby Okuyama were susceptible under both greenhouse and field conditions. Vitis vinifera grape cultivars were more susceptible to grape downy mildew than V. vinifera-labrusca hybrids and V. vinifera-labrusca-aestivalis hybrids. In V. vinifera-labrusca hybrids, tetraploid grape cultivars were more susceptible than diploid culivars. The evaluated results of grape downy mildew resistance under greenhouse condition were in accordance with those of field condition. Results of this study indicated that both greenhouse and field procedures could be used to screen grape cultivars and seedlings for downy mildew resistance.

Quality Characteristics of Grape Suspensions Using Protopectinase (Protopectinase를 이용한 포도 단세포화물의 품질 특성)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the changes of macerating properties from grape suspensions for which both were treated with protopectinase(PPase) and mechanical maceration stored at $4^{\circ}C$ for 28 days. Changes of macerating properties such as pH, total acidity, color, total polyphenol and antioxidant activity of suspensions after enzymatic hydrolysis were determined before and after heating, and microscopic observation made on suspensions containing single cells. With the PPase, grapes were enzymatically macerated to separate cells to primary cell wall without damage. Also, the changes of macerating properties in grape suspension treated with PPase and after heat treatment at $80^{\circ}C$ for 30 min were more stable than those of mechanical maceration, indicating the thermal stability. Thus, the PPase treatment for grapes could be a better choice for preparing highly valuable and functional processed food as well as for prolonging preservation periods.

Effect of Nurseries on Production of High Quality Seedlings in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer (우량묘 생산을 위한 삼 묘대에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to produce high quality ginseng seedlings by improvement of the physical properties of nursery soil. In order to select optimum nursery conditions, nursery types were treated with the yangiik nursery and semi-yangiik nursery. Soil conditioners were treated with two different materials of puffed rice husks and perlite. This experiments were tested at Gyunggido Agricultural Research and Extention Services, Hwaseng, from 2003 to 2004. Soil permeability was better at the plot of yangiik nursery than that of semi-yangjik nursery, and was better at plot of puffed rice husks than that of perlite. Soil porosity was improved 2.2% at plot of yangjiik nursery compare at that of semi-yangjik nursery, and was improved 2.0% at plot of puffed rice husks compared to control. There was no difference in the number of ginseng plants per kan among treatments. Root length was longer at plot of yangjik nursery than that of semi-yangjik nursery. More available ginseng plants per kan were obtained from the plot of yangjik nursery by more 252 seedlings than that of semi-yangjik nursery, but there was no significant difference between soil conditioners. The number of available seedlings per kan produced from yangjik nursery was 21.7% higher than those produced by semi-yangjik nursery. The number of available seedlings per kan produced from plot of puffed rice husks was 16.3% higher than that of control.

Influence of Additions of Seeds and Stems on the Properties of Processed Campbell Grape Juice (Campbell 포도주스의 제조에 있어서 포도 씨와 줄기의 첨가가 포도주스의 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • Grape juice, one of the most valuable fruit derived product has large amounts of phenolic compounds which provide many of the health benefits. Campbell grape juice, divided into Sample A(without seeds and stems), Sample B(with seeds only), Sample C(with seeds and stems) were processed and assessed for its components, sensorial attributes and functional properties as influenced by the addition of seeds and stems. The presence of seeds and stems in the processing of Campbell grape juice has significant effects on pH and total soluble solids($^{\circ}Brix$) but showed no significant effects on other physicochemical and color properties and corresponds to an increase in total phenolics, radical scavenging activity, total anthocyanin and total flavonoid The sensory evaluation showed that there is no significant differences among the samples but were all liked moderately to very much by the panelists. The result of this study demonstrated that seeds and stems can be included in the processing of Campbell grape juice as it enhances the juice functional properties without altering its physicochemical and sensorial properties.

Physiologically Active Components and Antioxidant Capacity of Grapevine Leaves at Growth Stages (생육단계별 포도 잎의 생리활성 성분 및 항산화능)

  • This study was conducted to investigate physiologically active components and antioxidant capacity of grapevine leaves at growth stages. The leaves from two strains of grapevine, 'Campbell Early' and 'Rosario Bianco', were collected at five different growth stages (leafing, blossom, fruiting, coloring, and maturity). Total flavonoid content was higher in leafing stage than the other stages and gradually decreased during growing. Total phenol content was higher in 'Campbell Early' than in 'Rosario Bianco'. Hydroxyl radical scavenging ability increased in the leafing stage and decreased during growing. The electron donating ability was higher in 'Campbell Early' then 'Rosario Bianco' until blossom stage. Leaves from 'Campbell Early' showed higher total antioxidant capacity than those from 'Rosario Bianco'. According to the above results, grapevine leaves until the blossom stage would possess strong antioxidant activity by physiologically active components such as polyphenol compounds. Therefore, these results suggest that young grapevine leaves can be used as materials for the development of functional foods.

Comparison of Fruit Characteristics and Quality in 'Heukgoosul' Grapes Set on Primary and Secondary Shoot (포도 '흑구슬'에서 1차지 및 2차지 착생 과실의 특성 및 품질 비교)

  • This experiment was performed in order to define the characteristic and quality of the fruits set on primary and secondary shoots in 'Heukgoosul' grape. The numbers of flower clusters per shoot were 1.1 and 0.6 in primary shoots and secondary shoots, respectively. The fruits of primary shoot showed 12.1 g of higher berry weight than 8.9 g of the fruits set on secondary shoots. Fructose and glucose contents were significantly higher in the fruits of secondary shoots during veraison, but the levels gradually decreased, reaching a similar level with those of primary shoot at the harvest stage. The acid content decreased rapidly from day 50 after full bloom in both primary and secondary shoots, but the rate of decrease slowed down from day 70 after full bloom in secondary shoots. Berries of secondary shoots showed rapid increase of skin coloration during veraison and reached a high degree of coloration within a short period when compared with those of primary shoots.

Antibody reaction of human anti-Toxoplasma gondii positive and negative sera with Neospora caninum antigens (톡소포자충 양성 및 음성인 사람 혈청에 대한 네오포자충 (Neospora caninum))

  • Anti-Neospora caninum antibody was detected in anti-Toxoplasma gondii positive and negative human sera by ELISA, western blot and immunofluorescence assay (IFA). Twelve cases out of 172 (6.7%) Toxoplasma-positive sera cross-reacted with both T. gondii and N. caninum antigens, and one out of 110 Toxoplasma-negative sera reacted with N. caninum antigen by ELISA. By western blot, all 12 sera reacted with T. gondii antigens with various banding patterns but specifically at 30 kDa (SAG 1), and 22 kDa (SAG2) bands. With N. caninum antigen, the number of reactive bands was reduced, however a 43 kDa band reacted in three cases in Toxoplasma-positive sera in addition to one in Toxoplasma-negative control sera. All sera of the Toxoplasma-positive group labeled surface membrane of T. gondii, but reacted differently with N. caninum. Fluorescence was detected in surface membrane, subcellular organelles, or both in N. caninum. And one case in the Toxoplasma-negative group also reacted with N. caninum strongly in subcellular organelles. This suggested that the antibody against N. caninum may be present in human sera although the positive rate was very low in this study. The possibility of human infection with N. caninum remains to be evaluated further.
