폐기물고형연료(RDF) 기술 동향 및 석탄/RDF 혼소기술 개발 (The state-of-art of RDF technology and the development of RDF co-combustion technology at the coal power plant)

  • 유럽에서 RDF기술 확산 동향과 국가별 RDF사용 현황, 각국의 RDF품질표준 및 최근 유럽공통RDF품질표준화 추진현황을 소개하고 RDF사용처별 경제성분석 내용을 소개하였다. 소각로, 시멘트공장 및 석탄화력발전소에서 RDF를 사용할 경우에 열회수량은 시멘트공장이 다소 높게 나타났고 손익평가(cost benefit balance)는 석탄화력발전소가 가장 높게 나타났다. 국내에서 가동 중인 20MW급 순환유동층 석탄화력발전보일러에서 폐플라스틱고형연료(RPF)를 혼합연소하는 기술과 염화수소 및 다이옥신 측정내용을 소개하였다. 전염소량 0.4$\sim$0.6% RPF를 2.5%혼소 시 염화수소는 10ppmv 정도로 분석되었고 다이옥신은 0.003ng-TEQ/$Sm^3$으로 거의 검출이 되지 않았다.

  • In this study, a 3-dimensional numerical model, has been developed applied for the investigation of combustion characteristics, and used to optimize operating conditions in MSW incinerator, in Gwangju. The model developed in this study has been verified by exacting both the predicted and the measured temperature in combustion chamber which has been operated to provide a reference condition. By predictive results, the Sangmoo incinerator has a good characteristics of combustion and low emission however after burning zone produced incomplete products, also probably because the supply of primary air was not enough. Parametric screening studies have been conducted to study optimal operating conditions. For the optimal combustion characteristics, operating conditions should be adjusted with the waste properties.

  • Ash melting chamber is one of the key facility of the pyrolysis-melting incineration system, and it should be designed and operated very carefully for avoiding solidification of slag. In this study, an example of numerical and experimental scale-up process of the melting chamber, in which high speed air is injected to the molten slag and generates bubbles, which enhances agitation of the slag and char combustion, is presented. Cold flow test, combustion and melting test in a lab-scale (30 kg/hr) chamber and a pilot scale (200 kg/hr) chamber. Minimum energy for maintaining molten slag is derived, and it was found that the molten slag can be maintained efficiently by concentrating heat into the bubbling slag.

염소와 황을 함유한 폐기물의 소각시 생성되는 유해 중금속류 결정에 대한 화학평형 계산 (An Equilibrium Analysis to Determine the Speciation of Metals in the Incineration of Waste Containing Chlorine and Sulfur)

  • An equilibrium analysis was carried out to determine principal species in the incineration of hazardous waste, which was assumed as a compound of hydrocarbon fuel, chlorine, sulfur, and heavy metals, and their behaviors with variation of temperature, chlorine and sulfur concentrations. Calculated results showed that the most important parameter influencing the principal species was temperature. Chlorine concentration affected on mole fractions of the species, especially at high temperature. Existence of sulfur had a significant effect on the species at low temperature, regardless of surfur concentration. Generally, principal species at high temperature were chlorides and oxides, while the principal species at low temperature were sulfides. As temperature increased, mole fractions of the principal species increased at low temperature, however, mole fractions of some metal species decreased at high temperature.

  • 본 연구에서는 OPC 및 hauyne 클링커의 비산재에 대한 고화특성을 검토하였다. 비산재에 대해 OPC 및 OPC에 hauyne 클링커를 20%까지 대체하였을 때의 압축강도, 길이변화율, 중금속 용출량 등을 조사하였다. 결과로서, hauyne 클링커의 첨가량에 따라 고화체의 압축 강도가 증가하였다. hauyne 클링커의 첨가량은 10%내외가 적합하였으며, 그 이상에서는 길이변화율이 증가하며 팽창하였다. 고화체의 중금속 용출시험결과 모든 배합조건에서 환경기준치이하의 값을 나타내었다.

  • MSWI ash is the residue from waste combustion processes at temperature between $850^{\circ}C\;and\;1000^{\circ}C$. And the main components of MSWI ash are $SiO_2,\;CaO\;and\;Al_2O_3$. The aim of this study is to find a way to useful application of MSWI ash(after treatment) as a structural material and to investigates the hydraulic activity, compressive strength development, composition variation of such chemicallyi-activated MSWI ashes concrete. And it was found that early cement hydration, followed by the breakdown and dissolving of the MSWI-ashes, enhanced the formation of calcium silicate hydrates(C-S-H), The XRD and SEM-EDS results indicate that, both the hydration degree and strength development are closely connected with a curing condition and a chemically-activator. Compressive strengths with values in the 40.5MFa were obtained after curing the activated MSWI ashes with NaOH+water glass at $90^{\circ}C$.

폐기물 소각시 중금속 성분의 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Behavior of Heavy Metals during Waste Incineration)

  • The incineration tests of mixed industrial wastes using the stoker type incinerator are carried out to investigate the partitioning characteristics of heavy metals during incineration. The results obtained from this study are as follow. The partitioning characteristics of heavy metals throughout this incinerator are found that, at given condition of $700^{\circ}C$, the elements with the relatively high boiling point such as Cr, Cu and Pb are partitioned into a bottom ash, a fry ash captured tv cyclone, and a flue gas stream, 67~88%, 2~19% and 6~16% of initial amount entering the incinerator, respectively, but the Cd and Hg of 75~81% is vaporized into the flue gas. It appears that the partitioning characteristics according to the particle size of ash is different between the bottom ash and the fly ash. For bottom ash, the fraction of partitioning into 75${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ oversized particles is reatively high. For fly ash, the characteristics of distributions with the particle size can not be clearly shown.

E.V.A., 고무폐기물 소각에 따른 폐가스 처리의 연구 (Combustion Characteristics of E.V.A., Rubber Waste Treatment by Fixed-Bed Incinerator.)

  • The objectives of this study are to examine combustion characteristics of E.V.A. and rubber wastes by fixed-bed incinerator, The results are as follows. Combustion temperature with time rises rapidly, and mass of E.V.A. reduces at short time in E.V.A. combustion. In variation of air-fuel ratio (m), ice ideal values of m of E.V.A. and rubber are 2.5, 1.5 respectively. Mixed-waste combustion is more economic than single E.V.A. combustion, because we can get high combustion efficiency (94.0~99.0%) at 2.0 air-fuel ratio of mixed-waste combustion. Removal efficiencies of SO2 at cooling tower are about 20%. The combustion efficiencies of rubber are over 98.0% according to the experimental conditions.

  • 도시와 산업의 발달 및 인구의 도시 집중화로 다양한 종류의 오염물질이 다량으로 대기 중으로 배출되는 통 환경오염이 날로 심각해지고 상황에서, 특히 악취(odor)와 VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds) 물질이 사회의 중요한 환경오염 문제고 부각되고 있다 광화학스모그의 선구물질인 VOC의 주요 배출원은 도로차량, 비도로차량, 용제사용과 유류저장으로 파악되고 있으며 그중 용제사용 부문에는 세정, 인쇄, 세탁, 도장, 농약살포, 소비용품, 도로포장 통에서 대부분 배출되는 것으로 알려져 있다 또한 환경기초시설인 하폐수처리장, 폐기물 소각장 및 매립장 등에서도 다량의 VOC/악취 물질들이 배출되고 있다.   • A novel pyrolysis-melting incineration system of reduced scale (30 kg/hr) is and constructed in Korea Institute of Industrial Technology. The incineration process is composed of three parts: pyrolysis, gas combustion and ash melting processes. For each unit process, experimental and numerical approaches including reduced-scale cold/hot flow tests have been conducted to find optimal design and operating conditions. This paper presents major results of these approaches with brief descriptions on the pilot-scale incinerator (200 kg/hr) under construction and future research works.
