Recently, systematic research on the brain has been conducted and BCI(Brain -Computer Interface) technology applying electroencephalogram has been actively researched. Especially, serious game technology using BCI device has been the subject of interest. This paper develops a "twosome collaboration dance game," which is a serious game that takes advantage of NeuroSky's SDK(System Development Kit) and helps developing the spirit of team work and sociality based on attention and meditation, unlike existing single player games. We expect that this game will help to visualize brain functions of people and to cure ADHD children and the elderly people with MCI(Mild Cognitive Disorder). It is also expected to play a role of social catalyst to the game culture of the adolescent.
This study is aimed at enhancing the prosocial behaviors and the positive peer play interaction of young children with developmental delays. Three children with developmental delays and three students without developmental delays who were 4-year-old students in an inclusive classroom were selected. Their homeroom teacher carried out the program with a small group of 6 children totaling 21 sessions over 3 months. The major results of this study were as follows: First, the result of both the observer and the parents' test after the program showed that the small group made positive changes on prosocial behaviors. In addition the frequency of target behaviors increased during the intervention. Second, the result of both the observer and the parents' test after the program showed that positive peer play interaction increased in the small group. Moreover the negative peer play interaction such as play disturbance and play isolation decreased. In conclusion, the thematic fantasy play program is useful for an inclusive classroom, and can be a concrete method to support inclusive education and childcare.
The purpose of this study is about to consider the structure of dualistic recognition between "Gang-Ho"(ideal sanctuary) and real world in the "Songs of Fisherman" written by Lee Hyeon Bo. In order to do this job, I analized the arrangement of the contents and extract the exact in and outward meaning of elements and expressions; usage of them between lines of this Song. Based on these works, I tried to explain the confronted recognitions of the two worlds. At the first, about the arrangement and contents of this poem, It is consisted of 5 independent sub-poems and each of them are describing the value of fisherman's life(at the poem 가), separation from mundane world(나), satisfaction of fisherman's life(다), nature of "Gnag-Ho"(라), domiciliation in the place(마). It looks like that the writer intended to have the arrangement probability and likelihood connecting poems. Secondly, It contrast the nature of the "Gang-Ho" and real world. The sanctuary is a place of 'absence of worldly desire' and 'cordiality' that could afford one's harmonious life. On the other hand, the real world is a troublesome place which always conflicts political confrontations. For those reasons, the writer wants to satisfy with his living in "Gang-Ho" separating himself from the real world. Thirdly, The nature of "Gang-Ho" is 'absence of worldly desire' and 'cordiality' that one could be deserved his diligency becoming a part of the harmonious idealistic living place. Fourthly, on the character of story teller. Originally he is a incomer of "Gang-Ho" from real world. so that reason, he is showing dualism not to deny the loyalty oath to his king, while he intends to satisfy with the life in "Gang- Ho" separating himself from real world. As a gentry, at that time, the loyalty oath is inevitable one and that is found from writer's other works either. Fifthly, Characters of the different world recognition. The main reason of his intention to "Gang-Ho" roots on out of worldly confrontations, his separation from real world is on a joyous peaceful life just like in "Gang-Ho". this study believes the writer imply that 'absence of worldly desire' and 'cordiality' of "Gang-Ho", be a key role to resolve the confrontation of real world. Lee Hyeon Bo himself regards the two elements as a advisable attitude of life. At last, Seeing the writer's other work and literature's educational effect, this study defines that even if the poem outwardly express one's lyricism but inside it warns governors ruling attitude.
Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate the differences in clinical characteristics and severity of symptoms between panic patients with and without comorbid major depressive disorder, and to ascertain the differences in the function of the autonomic nerve system measured by heart rate variability (HRV). Methods: The subjects were 60 patients who have panic disorder without major depressive disorder and 19 patients who met DSMIV criteria for both panic disorder and major depressive disorder. First, they drew up symptom checklists and self-rating scales, and were measured by Anxiety Disorder Inventory Schedule-Panic Attack & Agoraphobia (ADIS-P&A), Clinical Global Impression (CGI), Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAM-D), Panic Disorder Severity Scale (PDSS) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). For statistical analysis, we performed t-test to compare the scores of self reported scales and clinician’s rating scales in panic patients with comorbid major depressive disorder and those without major depressive disorder. ANCOVA was used to compare the variables of HRV, considering age as a covariate. Results: The subjective severities of depression and anxiety that comorbid patients complained of were higher than those of patients with only panic disorder. Futhermore, comorbid patients were more sensitive to anxiety and physical sensations, and they tend to be more negative in their thinking. The scores of clinician-rating scales such as CGI and PDSS were also higher in the comorbid patients. However, there were no significant differences in HRV variables between both groups, despite a tendency to low heart rate variability in the comorbid group. Conclusion: This study suggests that patients with panic disorder and comorbid major depressive disorder tend to complain of more symptoms and to be more sensitive to various symptoms than those with panic disorder without comorbid depression. However, in this study comorbid major depressive disorder did not have a significant impact on the HRV variables of patients with panic disorder.

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between depression and adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) of college students. Collage students up to 350 people self-report survey was conducted using the Conners ADHD Rating Scale Korean version and Beck Depression Inventory. Adult ADHD symptoms prevalence was 5.1 % and the highest form of carelessness. Depression grade was $8.38{\pm}6.86$ points of college students and female students was higher than male students is depression grade, severe depression and modurate depressive symptoms were 2.1 %. Model of explanatory were slightly higher in 33.5%, adult ADHD affects depression and coexistence rate of adult ADHD symptoms and depressive symptoms was found to be 3.1%. Therefore, adult ADHD symptoms prevalence and depression of collage students seems to be relationship. Given the wide range of social and emotional problems due to adult ADHD seems necessary measures to establish a social dimension to adult ADHD.
Objectives : To examine emotional and psychological characteristics associated with suicide attempts in depressed patients. Methods : A sample of 37 inpatients diagnosed with major depressive disorder or depressive disorder NOS was divided into two groups : lifetime suicide attempters(N=15 ; 40.54%), non-attempters(N=22 ; 59.46%). Beck Depression Scale(BDI), Beck Anxiety Scale(BAI), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HDRS), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HARS), and MMPI-2 were used to evaluate symptoms severity and psychological characteristics. Results : Suicide attempters scored higher on the BDI though there were no group differences on the HDRS and on the both anxiety scales. Also they showed higher scores on the F, Fb, Pa, RC1, DEP, HEA, PK, AAS among MMPI-2 subscales. Our findings suggest that suicide attempters among depressed patients undergo more severe subjective distress and difficulties in adjustment than non-attempters. Also they were more hostile to others and showed lower trust. Lastly, they showed more somatic complaints and substance related problems. Conclusion : The present study showed that suicide attempters among depressed patients have distinct emotional and psychological characteristics. MMPI-2 would be helpful to assess suicidal risk of depressed patients.
The purpose of the present study is to examine elementary gifted students' perceptions on bias against creativity utilizing concept mapping approach. Twelve elementary gifted students participated in the group brainstorming and produced 55 final statements. Based on these statements, the multi-dimensional scale and hierarchial cluster analysis using dissimilarity matrix were performed. Average stress value was .30 which is appropriate for a two-dimensional concept mapping study. In addition, a questionnaire survey using likert 6 points scale was carried out targeting 132 elementary gifted students to analyze the degree of sympathy on their anti-creativity bias perception. The findings are as follow: First, four categories were concluded dividing gifted students' perceptions on bias against creativity from the hierarchial cluster analysis with X-Y coordinate matrix, these were 'Contradictory attitudes to creativity', 'Low evaluation for creativity', 'Forced to predetermined rules and ideas', and 'Aversion to new things'. Second, elementary gifted students were sympathetic to the order 'Forced to predetermined rules and ideas'(M=4.16), 'Aversion to new things'(M=3.68), 'Contradictory attitudes to creativity'(M=3.55) and 'Low evaluation for creativity'(M=3.30). This study aims to examine, analyze and categorize various relevant factors related to elementary gifted students' perceptions on bias against creativity. Implications of the study related to the present and future creative education were discussed in depth.
Objectives: Deficit schizophrenia (DS) constitutes a disease separate from non-deficit schizophrenia (NDS). The aim of the current study was to compare the quantitative EEG and low resolution electromagnetic tomography (LORETA) imaging between DS and NDS. Methods: This study was performed by 32 channels EEG for 42 schizophrenia patients who we categorized into DS and NDS using proxy instrument deficit syndrome (PDS). We performed the absolute power spectral analyses for delta, theta, alpha, low beta and high beta activities. We compared power spectrum between two groups using Independent t-test. Partial correlation test was performed with clinical parameters. Standardized LORETA (sLORETA) was used for comparison of cortical activity, and statistical nonparametric mapping (SnPM) was applied for the statistical analysis. Results: DS showed significantly increased delta and theta absolute power in fontal and parietal region compared with NDS (p<0.05). Power spectrum showed significant correlation with 'anergia' and 'hostility/suspiciousness' subscale of brief psychiatric rating scale (BPRS)(p<0.05). sLORETA found out the source region (anterior cingulate cortex/limbic part) that delta activity was significantly increased in DS (p=0.042). Conclusions: DS showed different cortical activity compared with NDS. Our results may suggest QEEG and LORETA could be the marker in differentiating between DS and NDS.
Researches about the Horaknonjaeng(湖洛論爭) have succeeded by focusing on the Osangnonbyeon(五常論辨)?Mibalnonbyeon(未發論辨). In a way of these researches, philosophic thought of Gwon Sangha(權尙夏) is dealt in a comparison and in that process his philosophic thought seems to be known. However, these researches are treating several thoughts so it is difficult to find accurately what point describes the position of his thought in the korean confucian thought as origin of Hohak(湖學). In this paper, therefore, I examine Gwon Sangha's theory of mind-nature by focusing on the understanding the concept of mind-nature in Hansujaejib(寒水齋集) and find its position in history of thought as an origin of forming Hohak. Before 1709, Horaknonjaeng don't break out, Gwan Sangha had been formed that Inmulseongsangi(人物性相異) of Osangpyeonjeon(五常偏全) based on the understanding of the fact that ensuring of Bonyeonjiseong(本然之性 性善) in Gijiljiseong(氣質之性) and under this influence scholars of Hohak formed thoughts and insisted Osangpyeonjeon(五常偏全 人物性相異) during Horaknonjaeng. In the point of Simseongilmul(心性一物) focusing on nature, he didn't admit the Jujaeseong(主宰性) of mind. This is the efforts of finishing the controversy of Simseongigi(心性二岐) and the efforts of finding the relation between Simseon(心善). Such thoughts are set before the Horaknonjaeng and basing on these influences, scholars of Hohak formed their thoughts and insisted the Gibulyongsa(氣不用事 未發氣質有善惡).
This fMRI study is aim to investigate effects of competitive environment in cognitive empathic process in human brain. Empathy is known as a crucial factor for human's adaptive behavior in aspects of social cognition and it is almost automatic process, on the other hand competitive situation is psychologically devastated environment to win someone for getting rewards. We hypnotized that reading and understanding of other person's mind are a specific characteristic related to survival evolutionarily, however competition would have an effect on the empathic cognitive process because of mechanisms of competition. To manipulate the competitive atmosphere, one researcher took a role of competitor against participants and they were instructed to get monetary rewards when their performance was better than a competitor. 21 participants(9 males and 12 females) performed to judge the emotional valence of the empathic task consisted of illustrated images with various situation could be experienced in real world as on $1^{st}$ person perspective in both competitive and non-competitive condition, and did same performance with objects stimulus in control condition. In order to examine the competition effects on empathic process,, hemodynamic response were obtained during fMRI session and the imaging data were analyzed to identify brain regions where responses to each condition across the two consecutive runs. Participants' reaction time in competitive condition was faster statistically significant than non-competitive one. Activation for competitive condition increased in the following areas: ACC, mPFC, SMG, thalamus extended caudate and Nacc, parahippocampal gyrus, and for non-competitive condition increased paracingulate gyrus, temporal pole, vmPFC, superior occipital gyrus. As a result of regression analysis using empathic scores as covariance, the rSMG, IFG, fusiform gyrus, thalamus, putamen were correlated with higher empathic levels, and TPJ were correlated with lower empathic scores. We suggest that these observations could mean competitive environment have an effect on neural base of cognitive empathic process.
