LONG-TERM PREDICTION OF SATELLITE ORBIT USING ANALYTICAL METHOD (해석적 방법에 의한 장기 위성궤도 예측)

  • A long-term prediction algorithm of geostationary orbit was developed using the analytical method. The perturbation force models include geopotential upto fifth order and degree and luni-solar gravitation, and solar radiation pressure. All of the perturbation effects were analyzed by secular variations, short-period variations, and long-period variations for equinoctial elements such as the semi-major axis, eccentricity vector, inclination vector, and mean longitude of the satellite. Result of the analytical orbit propagator was compared with that of the cowell orbit propagator for the KOREASAT. The comparison indicated that the analytical solution could predict the semi-major axis with an accuracy of better than $pm35$ meters over a period of 3 month.

Effect of Beach Curvature on Wave Fields in Coastal Area with Submerged Breakwaters (잠제 설치 연안역의 파동장에 미치는 해안곡률의 영향)

  • The aim of this study is to examine the effect of beach curvature on wave fields in coastal area with Submerged Breakwaters using the 3D numerical model that is able to simulate directly interaction of WAve Structure Sandy beach (LES-WASS-3D). At first, the adopted model was validated through the comparison with an existing experimental data and showed fairly nice agreement. And then, the numerical simulations have been performed to investigate the effect of according to the variation of beach curvature. Based on the numerical results, the wave height, mean surface elevation, mean flow around submerged breakwaters and longshore distributions of run-up height have been discussed in relation to the variation of beach curvature.

  • This study is concerned with radial turbine design and performance improvement of a turbo generator system, which is used for maximizing performance of a 250kW MCFC fuel cell system. A preliminary design of a radial turbine has been performed under the thermodynamic and fluid-dynamic conditions determined by a cycle analysis of the MCFC BOP system. Basic demensions are determined by a meanline analysis and calculation of radial variation at the exit of the turbine. The turbine impeller is designed and modified by iterative processes of three dimensional flow analysis.

  • In this paper, helical wave wire have been proposed as the vehicle connector for the wireless access in vehicular environments(5.925GHz) communication. This helical slow wave connector is design by considering the properties of critical parameter like helical mean radius, helical pitch, helical wire radius and distance of helical wire to shield. The design simulation and results can be used to determine the most suitable helical wave wire dimensions for vehicle communication connector. The optimized WAVE connector inserted the helical wave wire has insertion loss less than -0.76dB at 5.925GHz. It provides 31% of insertion loss with good performance. Therefore, the simulated results can be effectively used for optimum design of high frequency connector for vehicle communication.

  • 천문학적 유체는 대부분 자기장을 가지고 있으며 난류상태에 있다고 믿어진다. 본 발표에서는 다양한 환경에서 존재하는 자기유체역학적(MHD) 난류를 소개하고자 한다. 첫째, 가장 간단한 경우로 비압축성 유체에서 발생하는 MHD 난류를 살펴보고자 한다. 이 경우, 평균자기장의 세기가 약한 경우와 강한 경우로 나누어 볼 수가 있는데, 평균자기장의 세기가 아주 약한 경우 난류에 의한 자기장의 증폭 현상이 특히 중요하다. 평균자기장의 세기가 강한 경우는 난류의 스펙트럼과 구조가 큰 관심사가 되고 있다. 둘째, 작은 스케일 난류와 초음속 압축성 난류를 간단히 소개하고자 한다. 작은 스케일(이온의 자이로 반경 부근) 난류는 아직 연구가 미진한 분야 중 하나이고 초음속 압축성 난류는 해석적 연구가 어렵기 때문에 연구의 많은 부분을 수치계산에 의존하고 있다. 마지막으로, MHD 난류에 대한 지식이 어떻게 관측에 응용될 수 있는지 간단한 예를 들고자 한다.

Development of Fine Dust Measurement Method based on Ultrasonic Scattering (초음파 산란 기법을 적용한 미세먼지 측정법 개발)

  • New concept of fine dust measurement method is suggested based on ultrasonic scattering. These days, fine dust has been social problem in Korea, and many researches has been conducted including the area structural maintenance. Conventional measurement system such as optical scattering and semiconductor has a limit from environmental factors like relative humidity. However, ultrasound is based on mechanical waves, which perturb mechanical properties of medium such as density and elastic constants. Using the advantage, the algorithm for fine dust measurement is derived and evaluated using 2-D finite difference method. The numerical analysis simulates ultrasonic wave propagation inside multiple scattering medium like fine dust in air. Signal processing scheme is also suggested and the results show that the error of the algorithm is around minimum of 0.7 and maximum of 24.9 in the number density unit. It is shown that cross-section of fine dust is a key parameter to improve the accuracy of algorithm.

  • In this paper a method is suggested for the probabilistic analysis of impact buckling failure time of cylinder with random axisymmetric geometric imperfection under axial impact. Failure is assumed as axisymmetric radial deformation exceeds the given criteria for the first time. For the generation of random geometric initial imperfection, random field theory by mean function and autocorrelation function of geometric imperfection is used. Suggested method is useful for the treatment of the randomness of realistic geometric imperfection and can be used for the structural safety analysis of cylinder considering its effect.

  • A low NPSH and high pressure fuel pump has been designed for a turbopump system. The fuel pump has an axial inducer and a centrifugal impeller. A meanline method has been established for the preliminary design and performance prediction of pumps at design or off-design points. KeRC(Kelyish Research Center) carried out a model testing of the fuel pump with water as a working fluid at the reduced speed. Predicted performances by the method are shown to be in good agreement with experimental results for cavitating and non-cavitating conditions. The established meanline method can be used for the performance prediction and preliminary design of high speed pumps which have a inducer, impeller and volute. In the current study, the three dimensional viscous flow in the fuel pump was investigated through numerical computation. A modified design of the fuel pump was generated to improve pump performance by utilizing CFD results. The modified fuel pump was experimentally tested by ROTEM and KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute). The measured non-cavitating and cavitating performance showed a good agreement with designed performance.

  • In this paper, we propose a new metric to measure the dynamic connection states of Ad Hoc network. The new metric measures the total path break up time $\sum_{i}T_i$, where $T_i$ is the time period during which maximum cluster distance exceeds the radio range. $T_i$ can be calculated from the maximum cluster distance function of time, which can be computed from the node position samples of mobility model. The proposed metric can be used as a total system metric as well as an individual connection metric.
