Contents Analysis of Vocabulary Learning Game Application on Smart-Phone and Tablet PC for Young Children's Language Learning (유아 언어학습용 단어게임 애플리케이션 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was firstly, to evaluate the contents of vocabulary game applications for young children's language learning. and secondly, to examine whether there is any differences between Korean and English word games in terms of the evaluation score. For this purpose, the word game applications in smart phone and tablet PC were analyzed, which included 30 Korean word games and another 30 English ones. The criteria to evaluate the contents were developed based on Children's Software Evaluation Instrument developed by CTR, the multimedia evaluation standard by Hee Sook Park, Young Joo Lee, and mobile contents evaluation standard by Soo Ui Choi. As a result, the educational value got the highest score whereas the design characteristics area got the lowest score in the whole evaluation analysis. And English word game applications mostly got higher score than Korean versions. The result of this study would suggest the way to evaluate educational game applications in use and to contribute to developing educational game contents aimed at young children's language learning.

  • In this study, researchers developed the criteria evaluating mathematically gifted students' creative products, which contain such evaluation headings as cognitive abilities(; creativity, analytic thinking, expert skill and knowledge), performing ability of the Mathematically Gifted-Creative Problem Solving process. And then a case study is carried out to apply the criteria to an actual condition of mathematically gifted education. This case study shows that how teachers can apply those of model and criteria in actual condition of the mathematically gifted education. Through the criteria above mentioned, the characteristics of creative productivity can be grasped clearly and evaluated in detail.

  • This Paper presents a clearly explained and richly illustrated case study of assessment and evaluation for program outcomes in accreditation for engineering education, which describe what Program students are expected to be able to do by the time of graduation. In particular, the performance criteria based on performance level, assessment tools, and level-of-achievement rubrics for assessment of program outcomes in electrical engineering program of Kwangwoon university will be briefly addressed. Obviously, the assessment, evaluation, and improvement processes for the specified program outcomes should be continuously carried out to demonstrate that the program objectives and outcomes are being met.

  • A two-way left-turn lane is a continuous center left-turn lane that could be used as a deceleration and refuge area for both directions of left-turning vehicles. TWLTL's have been used effectively for access management treatment when applied to a highway that has wide-spread left turning traffic demand and a high-density of side streets. In this study, an effective analysis was carried out using a computer-based simulation tool, VISSIM, in order to evaluate performance and safety effects of TWLTLs and develop a warrant. In conclusion, the results indicated that there was a remarkable decrease of through and left-turning vehicle travel time delay on the main road and improvement of traffic safety.

Meta-evaluation for Evaluation of Science Gifted Educational Institutions Affiliated with Universities (대학교 부설 과학영재교육원 평가에 대한 메타평가)

  • The research attempted to propose directions for improving evaluation of science gifted educational institutions affiliated with universities through its meta-evaluation. A survey questionnaire was developed and responded by 25 representatives of 25 science gifted educational institutions and 9 evaluation committee members in February 2008. According to research results, it was found that reference-criteria and categories for evaluation were abstract and did not reflect varied characteristics of individual institutions. Evaluation of outcomes mainly emphasized student number admitted by science high schools and science gifted school. Evaluation was performed for the sake of judging ranks. In addition, research capacity of institutions was not even considered as an evaluation element. For its improvement, the followings were suggested: First, evaluation should be functioned as consulting. Second, evaluation criteria are presented as concrete as it can be. Third, on-site evaluation should be introduced Fourth, evaluation process and results should be publicized Fifth, satisfaction by student and parents should be also included. Furthermore, exemplary cases of science gifted educational institutions should be identified and rewarded, and their management strategies should be disseminated with other institutions.

  • In Web-based instruction, learners are the subjects. learners differently accept web-based instruction that educational experts and system developers should think effectively that. This study was researched evaluation criteria that learners should think web-based instruction successively. research method process was following. driving 35 criteria in literary review about effectiveness web-bases instruction strategies and the questionnaire was marked up by learners and the questionnaire was conducted by factor analysis, driving 4 factors 28 criteria. By study findings learners think important component for effective web-based instruction to instructional strategis, system facility, tutor to help learning course, screen design. finally, for impletation effective web-based instruction consider implementation process by ISD.

Validity and Reliability of Korean Version of the Revised Stress Appraisal Measure (RSAM) (한국어판 수정된 스트레스 평가 도구(Revised Stress Appraisal Measure)의 타당도와 신뢰도)

  • The study purpose was to test the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Revised Stress Appraisal Measure (RSAM) to assess stress appraisal in undergraduate students. Internal consistency reliability, construct and criterion validity were calculated using IBM SPSS Statistics 21 and AMOS 21 program. Survey data were collected from a convenience sample of 296 undergraduate students enrolled in five universities in G city and C area, South Korea. The Korean version of RSAM categorized into 5 factors explaining 68.4% of the total variance. The model of five subscales was validated by confirmatory factor analysis (p<.001, Goodness of Fit Index, Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index, Normed Fit Index, Comparative Fit Index >.08, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation=.056). In criterion validity, the scores for the scale were significantly correlated with the Perceived Stress Scale-Korean. Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the 19 items was .73~.89. The Korean RSAM showed satisfactory construct and criterion validity and reliability. Thus it may be an appropriate instrument for measuring stress appraisal in Korean university students.

  • 80년대 중반에 접어들면서 대학평가에 관한 관심이 고조되기 시작하였다. 그리하여 대학평가의 영역과 평가 준거 및 기준설정에 관한 논의가 계속되었고 1990년대 초에는 단과대학별, 학과별 평가가 이루어졌다. 그간에 많은 논란과 반발이 없지 않았으나 1994년부터는 국립대학을 중심으로 7개 대학이, 1995년에는 17여개 국/사립대학이 평가를 받게 되었다. 대학평가 결과는 대학으로서의 인정여부는 물론이고 관계 당국의 행/재정 지원을 얻는 근거자료가 되고 또 해당 대학의 수준이나 위상이 고등학교, 기업체, 학부모 등 사회에 알려지기 때문에 직접 평가를 받게 되는 대학은 좋은 평가를 받기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 본 소론에서는 대학개혁과 대학평가에 대해 살펴보고 대학의 대응 방안에 관하여 논의하고자 한다.
