Case Study of Color Marketing for Fashion Industry (패션산업(産業)의 컬러마케팅 적용사례연구(適用事例硏究))

  • The purpose of this research are to enhance the understanding of color marketing and to suggest future implementation strategy in the fashion industry. To do so, (1) the concept, requirements, tactics are discussed, (2) various cases are analyzed and key points of color marketing are suggested, (3) the current situation of color marketing and the problems are discussed, and (4) the future implementation strategies for the fashion industry are suggested.

Color Sensibility and Preference of the Black Color Fabrics (블랙컬러 패션소재의 색채감성과 선호도)

  • The purposes of this research were to evaluate the color sensibility and preferences, and to analyze the effect of the tactile preferences and purchasing preference on structural properties, color characteristics and color sensibility for the black color fabrics. Male and female university students were asked to evaluate the color sensibility, tactile preference and purchasing preference to the nine different black fabrics which were selected on the basis of the previous research results. Data were analyzed by using frequency analysis, mean, factor analysis, t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test, correlation and regression analysis. The color sensibility for black color fabrics was classified into four factors: simplicity/classic, elegance, modernity and dignity. This color sensibility factors showed a significant correlative relationship to the structural properties and color characteristics of black color fabrics. On the other hand, fabrics which were evaluated with good tactile preference among the black color fabrics tended to show higher purchasing preference. Also, among the color sensibility, the structural properties and color characteristics of black color fabrics, major variable factor of influencing on the tactile preference and the purchasing preference was turned out to be the color sensibility.

  • 21st century has become an era can design human's image. By designing the each human's images it is possible to express the hidden abilities of their mind. Modern society changes rapidly where the elements such as consideration, sympathy, understandings, and female leadership of communication emerge as a spur rather than speediness or complexity.In a lot of global conglomerates, it is very common for women to be selected as CEO, and even more, the rate of woman who are the member of Congress is almost 40%. The fashion of female leader has come to the fore with an improvement of female leadership, and the fashion colour which is suitable to P.O has been developed as a significant image strategy. I am going to conduct the research and analyse the fashion of a female political leader through the colour image which is equivalent to a visual image and sensitive language. I will analyze the human image which female leaders present through fashion colors.

Differences in Visual Sensibility Evaluation of Basic Color Fashion Materials in Person and on Digital Screens (실물과 디지털 화면에서 베이직 컬러 패션 소재의 시각적 감각 평가 차이)

  • The perception of a fashion product may vary depending on the texture and color of its material. Additionally, the product may appear differently in person versus on a digital screen. Therefore, in the present study, we sought to investigate the differences in visual sensibility evaluation between materials in person and on digital screens. In this study, three pairs of visual sensibility adjectives were tested for 60 samples selected as fashion materials. Fashion materials were divided into colors, embossings, and visual clarity categories. Results showed that each color had the same sense during in-person and digital evaluation. In terms of visual sensibility according to embossing, both in-person and digital evaluations of materials with embossings were found to have the same visual sense, whereas those without embossings looked different between in-person and digital evaluations. Assessments based on visual classification showed that both in-person and digital evaluations had the same sensibility. This study is meaningful in suggesting that when evaluating the visual sense of fashion material, the sensation for the digital screen versus in person may be different in some cases.

Attributes and Image of Color Schemes in Neon Color Fashion (네온 컬러 패션에 나타난 배색 특성과 이미지)

  • The research is committed to inquire about the attributes of color schemes and their image, and the results are as follows : One, the preference of ranges of neon colors was explicit, and the frequency of use of neon colors distinctively diverged season by season. Two, it was observed that, with neon colors, an achromatic color scheme was a more preferred arrangement. As for chromatic colors, neutral and mid-tone natural colors were more favored since they did not tarnish the properties of neon colors and, yet, more effective exhibiting images in diversity and variety. Three, the neon color fashion generally displayed a dual image: its original classification embellished with neon colors rendering the image of powerful and futuristic sensation. Having been around since the early 2000's, the frequency and range of use of neon colors have been increasing rapidly mostly by the sports, leisure and related industries. Regardless of the fact, neon colors will be rediscovered with a variety of color schemes and expand their application.

  • The purpose of this research is to enchance the understanding of color marketing, to support the efficient color informatiom which is useful in color planning and is suitable for brand image, and to suggest future implementation strategy on the fashion web sites. To do so, First, the concept, requirements and the current situation of color marketing are suggested. Second, various cases of color marketing on fashion web sites are analyzed. Third, the future implementation strategies for fashion web sites are suggested.

A Study on the Color coordination System to fashion (섬유.패션디자인을 위한 컬러코디네이션 지원모델 개발)

  • This study is to objectively support the emotional and intuitional decision making of the designer by means of developing the supporting models and tools of color coordination. Based on the color grouping system and representative vocabularies suggested in the precedent 'Study on the Grouping System of Fabric Color,' this study suggested the manufacture of the supporting model of color coordination that could be used practically through the design of coloring group. The results of this study can be summarized as below. Firstly, 687 colors in total have been collected from the four world famous collections, the street fashion of 2002 F/W 2003 S/S Season and the representative brands in each group for five years from 1999 to 2003 in order to single out the basic colors for the purpose of composing the color groups. Secondly, 687 collected colors have been grouped into 144 colors in total through the three-step process for the extraction of coloring groups. Thirdly, the final extracted colors have been divided into , , , group by the grouping system specified in the precedent study and the said four large groups have been again subdivided into 12 small groups. Fourthly, the suggested colors in each group have established a color coordination system by introducing the concept of the crossover coordination that could be matched with other groups as well as the coordination within the group. Fifthly, we have dyed 144 colors in total that have consisted of the coloring system of four representative groups (twelve subgroups) in each methodical tone as in the above in cotton yarn, one of the representative materials in fabric fashion design industry. Besides, we have specified the symbol of the Pantone Color Book and CMYK values in each color that has consisted of the system considering the industrial characteristics of fashion as a global business and the compatibility with the related design industry. Sixthly, we have packed the completed yam made of fabrics in the designed container for the easy use of cross-coordination and have completed a color coordination system that could be easily utilized for the fashion-related working-level staffs.
