  • In this study, integrated co-bonded panels with the same configuration of hat stiffeners were fabricated and measured for ply waviness phenomenon. Total specimens consisted of 2 types; 1) the general co-bonded panel and 2) the co-bonded panel with caul plate made of carbon epoxy composite materials. The first general co-bonded panel specimen exhibited that laminate thickness on the stiffener location area was much thicker than the non-stiffener area and, there was ply waviness with 0.61 mm height and 3.29 mm length. In the second co-bonded panel specimen, the reduced waviness with 0.22 mm height and 1.37 length resulted in more than 50% improvements, which is due to the uniform pressure distribution of co-bonded interface by caul plate.

  • Diatomite, bentonite and zeolite were used as porous materials for fabricating hygroscopic panels. Moisture adsorption and desorption of porous materials were investigated and hydrothermal method was applied to fabricate panels. Cheolwon diatomite and Pohang zeolite showed excellent characteristics of moisture adsorption and desorption. These characteristics were caused by higher surface area and pore volume of porous materials. Moisture adsorption contents were influenced by surface area and pore volume of panels, and surface area more effected on moisture adsorption. Moisture adsorption content of panel with 10% Pohang zeolite was 180g/m$^2$and that of 10% Cheolwon diatomite was 170g/m$^2$. Moisture desorption content of panel with 10% Pohang zeolite was 105g/m$^2$. Moisture adsorption contents of panel with porous materials were higher than that of panel without porous materials.

  • In this paper, composite panels with hat-shaped stiffeners were made using the co-curing, co-bonding and secondary bonding methods. Co-curing is a manufacturing method in which the hat part and the plate are cured simultaneously in a manner that is more cost effective than other methods. Co-bonding is a method in which the stacked prepregs are cured with other cured parts, and secondary bonding is a method in which cured parts are bonded together using an adhesive. A rubber mold was manufactured for co-curing of composite panel with hat-shaped stiffeners, and finite element analyses were done to evaluate the expanding pressure of the rubber mold consistent with the curing temperature. The manufactured panels were also evaluated using a 3-D measurement tester and an ultrasonic tester. Pull-off tests were performed to evaluate their mechanical properties.

  • The best estimate Gutenberg-Richter b-value of the Korean Peninsula was estimated through an expert panel assigned to evaluate the currently available study results. The panel's assessment yielded that the Gutenberg-Richter b-value was relatively constant over the Korean Peninsula and was independent of seismic zones with an average value of 0.96. Also, the currently most reliable four seismotechtonic structural maps were produced. The effects on the seismic hazard were analyzed by applying the results to the Shinwuljin Units 1&2 NPP site. As a result, the mean hazard level at 0.2g was decreased by about 70-80% (on the order of 0.6-0.7), and the uncertainty band at 0.2g for the reliability band of 15%-85% was significantly reduced. It was proposed, for conservatism, to use b=0.95 over all seismic zones for seismic hazard analysis in the future.

  • In this study, as a result of eva lua ting the quality properties of Living Concrete, the flow of the table showed a tendency to decrease as the mixing ratio of ocher increased. Compressive strength was found to decrease with increasing loess mixing ratio. Density properties were evaluated for weight reduction, As a result of comparison with the panel using cement as a comparison group, the density was measured to be a bout 20 % lower than that of the cement panel, and it is judged that it is less affected by the load and can be installed in the structure. As a result of evaluating the panel temperature reduction, there was a difference in the temperature reduction with time. It is judged that the panel planted with moss has a lower temperature than the panel without moss, so it is judged that it can be used in a vertical greening system.

  • Recently, the connection between science museum and school science curriculum has been emphasized, but the frameworks for evaluating school science curricula are insufficient in terms of how much of school science curriculum was reflected and attained. The purposes of this study are to develop a framework that can be utilized to evaluate levels of curriculum that are reflected and attained in the texts of exhibition panels displayed in science museums. We developed an evaluation tool based on the frameworks used to assess students' achievement in the secondary school curriculum, and we used the tool to measure the reflection and attainment levels demonstrated in the texts of exhibition panels about earth science contents of secondary school curriculum in three science museums located in Chungcheong-do, central part of Korea. Findings showed that the levels of reflection and attainment of secondary school curriculum in exhibition panels about earth science contents in science museums were measured 38.7% and 2.82 points out of 5.0respectively. We hope that the evaluation tool used in this study could be utilized to measure the levels of reflection and attainment of secondary school science curriculum demonstrated in the text of each of exhibition panels in science museums.

  • The panels are used as a composite part of the completed deck. They replace the main bottom transverse deck reinforcement and also serve as a form surface for the cast-in-place concrete upper layer that contains the top of deck reinforcement. Research has also demonstrated that mechanical shear ties on the top of the panels are required. In a composite deck with precast panels, it is required to notice behavior of transverse joints between panels. In this paper, static tests of composite deck with shear ties and loop joints were conducted. From the results, the validity of loop joints for continuity of deck was observed. Also, a composite behavior was abserved between precast panel and slab concrete. Tested composite decks with shear ties have 140~164% ultimate strength than have no shear ties due to the increase of composite action. Therefore, the shear ties between the slabs were sufficient to enforce composite flexural behavior to failure.

  • This paper presents the results of cyclic seismic performance in relation to beam-panel zone strength ratio of CFT Column to H-beam steel moment connections. Each test specimen consisted of $H-350{\times}175{\times}7{\times}11$ beam(SS400) and ${\boxe}-250{\times}250{\times}9$, ${\boxe}-250{\times}250{\times}12$ column(SPSR400). Main parameter is a column panel zone strength relative to beam strength. Energy absorption capacity available in the specimens ranged from 5.2 to 12.7(tm). If panel zone strength relative to beam strength is too strong or weak, the energy absorption capacity tended to be inferior. About steel moment-resisting frame, the test results of this experiment seem to support the investigation that permitting panel zone yielding shall be more advantageous to enhancing total seismic performance.

  • It is widely known that the sound insulation of soundproof panel is highly correlated to two factors, surface density of material and the frequency of noise. Accordingly, the character of traffic noise released in actual situation is important requisite for determining thickness to determine surface density and material of soundproof panel. This present study selected polymer panel with advantage of light weight and workability and evaluates according to frequency of traffic noise. Polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) were selected as subjects based on economic valuation and efficiency. The sound transmission loss of selected polymer panels were compared with the currently used panels such as polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) depending on thickness and materials. As a result, PC showed the highest sound transmission loss followed by PMMA, HDPE, and PP in range of mass law. In terms of acoustic performance on thickness, the transmission loss increased with thickness of soundproof panel meanwhile coincidence dip was observed in lower frequency where had reduced transmission loss. Therefore, it is suggested that after determining target frequency, the kind of materials and thickness of soundproof panel need to be designed so that traffic noise can be more efficiently reduced.

  • EPS sandwich panel contains flame retardants that slow down ignition during fires, reduce the amount of heat generated, and block the spread of combustion. However, if a sandwich panel does not satisfy standards for fire-retardant performance, it may increase damage to property and human life. It is difficult to test the fire-retardant performance of a finishing material with the naked eye, so it is necessary to develop convenient and fast evaluation methods that are convenient and fast. In this study, a fire safety evaluation method for EPS sandwich panel was analyzed using X-ray to detect specific components related to the fire-retardant performance X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) indicated that suitable panel products contained more aluminum in comparison to unsuitable products. Gibbsite was identified as the main crystalline material of flame retardant EPS through X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and was included in both suitable products and unsuitable products, but there was a difference in crystalline structure. This study was verifies the possibility of evaluating fire-retardant performance using ultimate analysis and crystal analysis through these X-ray methods.
