Identification of geographical origin of sesame seeds by near infrared spectroscopy (근적외 분석법에 의한 참깨의 원산지 판별)

  • Geographical origin of the Korean, Chinese and Japanese sesame seeds were identified very high accuracy by NIR spectroscopy. The NIR instrument of filter type showed the same accuracy of the monochromator scanning type to identify the geographical origin of the sesame seeds. In case of adulteration between the Korean and Chinese sesame seeds, the ratio of addition could be determined about 10% error level. The reason of identification of geographical origin by NIR spectroscopy, it was supposed to the difference, of oil cake substance.

Exploring the Characteristics of Scientific Observation of Gifted Middle-School Students in Rock Identification (암석 판별 탐구에서 중학교 영재들의 과학적 관찰의 특징 탐색)

  • This study aimed to explore the characteristics of scientific observation and reasoning of gifted middle-school students in rock identification. Five rock samples that are considered important as per science textbooks, including igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks, were provided to 19 first-year middle-school students attending a gifted education center. Students were asked to infer the formation process, type, and name of each rock. The results showed that the characteristics of rocks that students primarily paid attention to included color, texture, and structure. Students immediately succeeded in identifying common rocks based on memory; however, meaningful inferences were not made. In case of rocks that students faced difficulty discriminating, significant reasoning processes were revealed through discourse. In addition, although scientific reasoning was properly constructed based on meaningful observations, there were cases wherein rock identification failed. These results will contribute to determining the current level of understanding of middle-school students in rock identification activities and finding ways to provide students with meaningful scientific observation and inference experiences through rock identification in the school field.

  • 본 논문에서는 유방암 초음파 이미지를 학습한 multi-modal 구조를 이용하여 유방암을 판별하는 인공지능을 제안한다. 학습된 인공지능은 유방암을 판별과 동시에, 설명 가능한 인공지능 기법과 ROI를 함께 사용하여 종양의 위치를 나타내준다. 시각적으로 판단 근거를 제시하기 때문에 인공지능의 판단 신뢰도는 더 높아진다.

  • This research was conducted as a necessary preliminary research for topics related to young gifted children education such as whether young gifted children education is really necessary, how to define the concept of giftedness, and on what grounds the identification of giftedness should be conducted by. For this purpose, the research examines the concept of giftedness in both western and eastern cultures and searched for development direction focusing on domestic research trends in the identification. The research holds its value from provision of rudimentary data in adequate identification of young gifted children in convergence era.

  • 뇌 MR 영상의 분석을 통해 질환을 자동적으로 진단하고 판별을 하기 위한 전처리 과정으로 정상인의 MR 영상 모델과 현재 고려되어지는 대상 영상과의 비교 작업이 요구된다. 이를 통해 보다 정확한 질병에 대한 근거를 제시함으로서 진단이 가능하게 된다. 이러한 비교 작업을 위해 우선적으로 해결해야 하는 것이 현재 대상 영상이 정상인의 MR 영상 시리즈 중 어느 위치의 영상과 일치하는 지를 판별해야 한다. 실질적으로 뇌 MR 시리즈는 영상의 특징에 따라 크게 몇 개의 그룹으로 분류된다. 그루핑 결과 뇌척수액이 존재하는 그룹은 또 다시 4 종류의 세부분류로 나누어지는데, 본 논문에서는 이 뇌 척수액의 모양에 따라 분류하는 알고리즘을 소개한다.

A Study on Discrimination between Short-Circuit and Overload based on the Characteristics of the Fusing Current of an Electrical Wire (전선의 용단전류 특성에 근거한 단락과 과부하 판별에 관한 연구)

  • In the case that an overcurrent flows through in electrical wire due to short-circuit or overload, the wire can be fused, thereby causing an electrical fire. In the present article the characteristics of the fusing current of an electrical wire have been studied to discriminate between short-circuit and overload. In the experiment the fusing time was measured as the currents determined by Preece's equation were supplied to bare wires of various diameter. As the results of experiment, the measured fusing currents well satisfied the Onderdonk's equation. By comparing the measured results and the short current the IEC recommends, it is shown that the variable to determine the short current for a bare copper wire, k is appoximately 300. The fusing current of an electrical wire which becomes a short circuit within 5sec can be expressed as a function of diameter based on the value of k. Consequently, the equation for the fusing current provides a criterion to discriminate between short-circuit and overload.

  • Since the science of information is appearing no less important than mathematics and natural science as our society is rapidly becoming information-oriented, the necessity to distinguish prodigies of this field and to educate them as early as possible is also being emphasized. Unfortunately, however, the pertinent study is still in its beginning stage. In this study, I have reviewed the character, definition and method to distinguish prodigies and the procedure of developing a test, as well as researching and analyzing the proper process of distinguishing prodigies, through theoretical contemplation on the method of distinguishing the gifted children. Also, I have characterized and defined the information prodigies after clarifying the character of 'Discrete Mathematics' which becomes the basis of the science of information, paving the way to make a test method that can distinguish those information prodigies. As a result of our applying the system by using the distinction test, it turned out that the distinction test was pretty reliable. Accordingly, it can be utilized as a significant distinction test for information prodigies in the forthcoming future.

  • PCA변환에 의한 다중패턴 홀로그램의 패턴정합 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 다중패턴 홀로그램의 패턴정합과정에서 공간영역과 주파수영역에서의 PCA변환과정을 통해 패턴정합을 수행함으로써 두 영역간의 유사도결과를 비교한다. 기존의 CGH방법에 근거하여 주파수 변환을 적용하여 패턴이 생성되고, 이때 주파수영역에서의 패턴매칭시 두 영상간의 유사도판별을 보다 정확하게 하고자 PCA변환에 근거한 정합방법을 수행하고자 한다.

Identification Model Development for Gifted Students Based on Class Observations and Nominations (영재학급 대상자 선발을 위한 관찰.추천 영재판별모형 개발 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an identification model for gifted students, based on class observations and nominations. The definition, issues and methods of identification were examined to achieve the research goal. Gifted identification model based on class observations and nominations consists of 4 steps: The first is the collection of multidimensional information on students, and the second is the evaluation of the students' portfolios with the rubric that has the criteria of rating scales on each information. At the third, students are observed in the class. Then the students are interviewed for the evaluation of their cognitive and non-cognitive characteristics. At the fourth, the identification committee makes a final decision for the selection of gifted students, after considering all the results from the steps. This model will be helpful to identify gifted students who are regarded to have potential abilities, especially economically disadvantaged students.

  • 위폐 판별을 위한 홀로그램 광학 검사 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 홀로그램의 표준패턴을 생성을 CGH(Computer Generated Hologram)방법에 근거한 주파수 변환을 적용하고, 조명각도에 따라 홀로그램 이미지를 정확하게 획득하여 특성에 적합한 홀로그램 표준패턴을 생성하게 된다. 생성한 표준패턴과 실제 영상과의 패턴매칭을 위해 패턴매칭알고리즘을 적용하여 위폐를 판별하는 검사시스템이다.
