A Study on the Distribution of Hydraulic Head Along the Lateral in a Pilot-Scale Riverbank Filtration (강변여과에서 파일럿규모 수평집수관의 수두분포 연구)

  • A pilot-scale sand-box experiment simulating a lateral of collector well used in riverbank filtration was performed, and hydraulic head distributions along the lateral were measured according to the various drawdowns at the well. The results of this experiment were compared to the predicted values obtained using a theory previously developed by Kim in order for its validation. This theory predicts the head loss in a large-scale lateral given the loss in a small-scale one, and to have actual values for comparison, the results from a lab-scale experiment previously performed by Kim were employed. Comparing the experimental values to the extrapolated value indeed confirmed the validity of the theory. A procedure to determine the hydraulic head distribution of a practical-scale lateral was also presented applying the theory to the experimental result of this study in an effort to show the process of lateral design for riverbank filtration.

  • 디지털 트윈 플랫폼을 적용하여 가동원전의 화재 안전성을 강화시키고자 한다. 원전에 특화된 화재 감지, 진압 설비를 개발하면서 디지털 트윈에 적용하기 위하여 수집해야 할 데이터에 대한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에 대해서 원전에 특화된 공기흡입형 감지모듈과 미분무 소화설비를 개발하고 있으며 제품에 대한 DB를 구축하여 디지털 트윈에 적용시키고자 유니티(Unity) 툴을 이용하여 파일럿 규모의 전기실 화재에 대한 모델링을 수행하였다. 추후 실규모의 소방 시스템을 제작하고 적용 가능한 센서를 통해 데이터를 수집할 것이며, 이를 통해 디지털 트윈 플랫폼을 구축하여 CDF 저감에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Treatment of Spent ion-Exchange Resins from NPP by Supercritical Water Oxidation(SCWO) Process (초임계수 산화공정에 의한 원전 폐수지 처리기술)

  • The spent cationic exchange resins and anionic exchange resins were separated from mixed spent exchange resins by a fluidized bed gravimetric separator. The separated resins were identified by an elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. The each test sample was prepared by diluting the slurry made by wet ball milling the cationic exchange resins and the anionic exchange resins separated as a spherical granular form for 24 hours. The resulting test samples showed a slurry form of less than $75{\mu}m$ of particle size and 25,000ppm of $COD_{cr}$. The decomposition conditions of each test samples from a thermal power plant were obtained with a lab-scale(reactor volume : 220mL) supercritical water oxidation(SCWO) facility. Then pilot plant(reactor volume : 24 L) tests were performed with the test samples from a thermal power plant and a nuclear power plant successively. Based on the optimal decomposition conditions and the operation experiences by lab-scale facility and the pilot plant, a commercial plant(capacity : 150kg/h) can be installed in a nuclear power plant was designed.

  • SCR(selective catalytic reduction) pilot plant for reduction of the nitrogen oxides using diesel oil as a reductant was installed at the NG(natural gas) fired combined cycle and the activity of Pt(0.3%)/Zeolite catalyst was studied in real flue gas condition according to the amount of reductant. reaction temperature and space velocity. NOx conversion gradually increased with increasing the diesel oil concentration up to C/N ratio 5.5(C/N ratio: the ratio of the number of carbon atom to the number of NOx molecules included in the flue gas). Increasing the reaction temperature. NOx conversion increased and reached a maximum conversion of 50% at $190^{\circ}C$. NOx conversion did not changed with increasing the space velocity up to 18,500/hr and then gradually decreased. These results reveal the potential for diesel oil as a reductant for de-NOx SCR process.

  • Axial and radial distributions of bubble holdup were investigated in a slurry bubble column with pilot plant scale(D=1.0 m). Effects of gas velocity, surface tension of continuous liquid medium and solid fraction in the slurry phase on the axial and radial distributions of bubble holdup were examined. The bubble holdup decreased with increasing radial dimensionless distance from the center of the column, while it increased with increasing dimensionless distance in the axial direction from the distributor, in all the cases studied. The radial non-uniformity of bubble holdup increased with increasing gas velocity but decreasing surface tension of liquid medium, while it was not dependent upon the solid fraction in the slurry phase. The axial non-uniformity of bubble holdup increased with increasing gas velocity, but it does not change considerably with variations of liquid surface tension or solid fraction in the slurry phase . The axial and radial distributions of bubble holdup were well correlated in terms of operating variables within this experimental conditions.

  • In this study, we have developed a process for separating and recovering Ni and Fe in solution through a new solvent instead of TBP and Alamine336, which are solvents used in the conventional solvent extraction method. Experimental conditions were optimized through lab test and a $10L\;h^{-1}$ pilot plant was constructed for commercialization. In addition, the process data for mass production were obtained through pilot experiment and it was confirmed that there is no problem in product quality that can be used through the corrosion test of ferric chloride.

  • 유해화학물질 이송관로의 실시간 유지관리를 위하여 파손사전 예방감시를 위한 이중구조 파이프 제작, GIS관망 구축을 위한 측량 및 시공 속성정보 수집을 위한 스마트 폰 앱 프로그램 개발, 실시간 감시를 위한 서버프로그램 개발을 수행하였다. 또한, 파일럿규모의 야외시험시설을 구축하여 시스템 동작여부를 확인하였다. 파손 예방은 파이프에 부착된 센서 케이블을 통하여 감지하도록 하였고, 누수는 압력센서를 일정한 간격으로 설치하여 시험하였다. VRS 측량장비와 스마트폰을 연계할 수 있는 앱 프로그램으로 실시간 자료 수집을 수행할 수 있도록 하였고, 감시 서버프로그램을 통하여 실시간 감시 및 알람이 가능하도록 하였다.

  • Carboxymethylcellulose(CMC) which is water-soluble fiber was manufactured by mercerization and etherification in the earlier study. Experimental parameters were conversion time for each step, concentration of reagent and temperature. To know the presence of functional group, CMC was analyzed by FT-IR(Fourier Transform Infrared) spectroscopy. Ethanol was recovered using evaporator and purity of ethanol analyzed by GC-MASS was 97% and 83% after mercerization and etherification respectively. For the pilot plant, if CMC is folded by 40 times it showed maximum efficiency. Maximum solubility was obtained when the ratio of NaOH and MCA is 3 : 4.5.
