  • Being increased the errention and competition for communication business, the economical efficiency and the reliance of communication network were raised. The communication operators are sensitively reactioned to the data related communication. Especially, the trend of hazards related to communication networks and users is broadly deviede into 3 classes in the technical specificatons of foreigners. In this paper, the field data of parameters corresponding to 3 classes was statistically processed and compared to the specified values in the technical specification. The ststistical processes of field data play a role as an objective information for the service quality related to the communication network, and will be helpful for preparing the globalization of communication.

  • Differential evolution(DE) has been preyed to be an efficient method for optimizing real-valued multi-modal objective functions. DE's main assets are its conceptual simplicity and ease of use. However, the convergence properties are deeply dependent on the control parameters of DE. This paper proposes an adaptive differential evolution(ADE) method which combines with a variant of DE and an adaptive mechanism of the control parameters. ADE contributes to the robustness and the easy use of the DE without deteriorating the convergence. 12 optimization problems is considered to test ADE. As an application of ADE the paper presents a supervised clustering method for predicting events, what is called, an evolutionary event clustering(EEC). EEC is tested for 4 cases used widely for the validation of data modeling.

  • In this study, an approximate multi-objective optimization of a wall-mounted monitor bracket arm was performed. The rotation angle of the bracket arm was determined considering the inplane degree of freedom. We then formulated an optimization problem on maximum stress and deflection. Analyses of mean and design parameters were conducted for sensitivity regarding performance with orthogonal array and response surface method (RSM). RSM models of objective and constraint functions were generated using central composite (CCD) and D-optimal design. The accuracy of approximate models was evaluated through $R^2$ value. The obtained optimal solutions by non-dominant sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) were validated through the finite element analysis and we compared the obtained optimal solution by CCD and D-optimal design.

  • This paper deals with a 3D-pose (orientation and position) estimation problem of a circular object in 3D-space. Circular features can be found with many objects in real world, and provide crucial cues in vision-based object recognition and location. In general, as a circular feature in 3D space is perspectively projected when imaged by a camera, it is difficult to recover fully three-dimensional orientation and position parameters from the projected curve information. This paper therefore proposes a 3D pose estimation method of a circular feature using a coplanar point. We first interpret a circular feature with a coplanar point in both the projective space and 3D space. A procedure for estimating 3D orientation/position parameters is then described. The proposed method is verified by a numerical example, and evaluated by a series of experiments for analyzing accuracy and sensitivity.

  • This paper describes the dynamic behavior and enhancement of Korean high-speed trains. The tail vibration reduction method of the yaw damper installation method change, which was derived from previous research, was applied to the running test of high-speed train. In addition, the vibration reduction method for the entire vehicle was derived by a numerical method and its effect was confirmed by a running test. The improved design was applied to the double-deck high-speed train coaches and the commissioning proceeded without problems in dynamic behavior. Sensitivity analysis of the suspension parameters affecting the critical speed of Korean next-generation high-speed trains was performed and four design variables that greatly affected the critical speed were derived. These were in the order of the primary elastic joint x-directional stiffness, the secondary yaw damper series stiffness, the secondary lateral damper damping coefficient, and the carbody damper damping coefficient. By optimizing the design variables, the suspension parameter that improves the critical speed by 23.3% can be used in the commercial designs of Korean next-generation high-speed trains.

  • The details of engine manufacturer's engine simulations are generally kept secret and only those parameters that are used for control purposes are accessible to users. Hence, there is often only a limited amount of data accessible for creating a performance model of the engine. The performance modeling of a low bypass turbofan engine for supersonic aircraft is described herein. The Pratt and Whitney F100-PW-229 engine has been employed for low bypass turbofan engine performance modeling. Published data from the open literature are used as initial data for building the F100-PW-229 engine performance model. The unknown components' characteristics were estimated by optimization of parameters using by adaptive random search method and sensitivity analysis with respect to design variables. The engine performance model was evaluated to be properly constructed through the comparison of result of engine performance analysis and engine deck data.

  • This paper provides the results of the investigation on the optimum topology of simply supported deep beam structures with multi-point load cases. In this study, the strain energy to be minimized is considered as the objective function and the initial volume of structures is used as the constraint function. The resizing algorithm based on the optimality criteria is adopted to update the hole size existing inside the material. In this study, the sensitivities of topology optimization parameters to the optimum topology of the deep bean structures is investigated and also the effect of filtering process on the optimum topology is thoroughly tested. From numerical tests, the optimum topology of the deep beam is closely related with the optimization parameters used in the iteration and the filtering process play important role in order to find the optimum topology of the deep beam.

  • We propose the complexity reduction algorithm of real root method that is mainly used in the Vocoder. The real root method is that if polynomial equations have the real roots, we are able to find those and transform them into LSP(Line Spectrum Pairs). However, this method takes much time to compute, because the root searching is processed sequentially in frequency region. The important characteristic of LSP is that most of coefficients are occurred in specific frequency region. So, the searching frequency region is ordered and adjusted by each coefficient's distribution in this paper. Transformation time can be reduced by proposed algorithm than the sequential searching method in frequency region. When we compare this proposed method with the conventional real root method, the experimental result is that the searching time was reduced about 48% in average.

  • Prediction of diesel particulate filtration is typically made by virtue of modeling of particulate matter(PM) collection. The model is closed with filtration parameters reflecting all small scale phenomena associated with PM trapping, and these parameters are to be traced back by inversely analyzing large-scale empirical data-the pressure drop histories. Included are soot cake permeability, soot cake density, soot density in the porous filter wall, and percolation constant. In the present study, a series of single channel DPF experiment is conducted, pressure histories are inversely analyzed, and the essential filtration parameters are deducted by DPF filtration model formulated with non-linear description of soot cake regression. Sensitivity analyses of model parameters are also made. Results showed that filtration transients are significantly altered by the extent of percolation constant, and the soot density in the porous filter wall is controlling the filtration qualities in deep-bed filtration regime. In addition, effect of soot particle size on filtration quality is distinct in a period of soot cake regime.

  • The purpose of RAM analysis in weapon systems is to reduce life cycle costs, along with improving combat readiness by meeting RAM target value. We analyzed the sensitivity of the RAM analysis parameters to the use of the operating system by using the Markov Process based model (MPS, Markov Process Simulation) developed for RAM analysis. A Markov process-based RAM analysis model was developed to analyze the sensitivity of parameters (MTBF, MTTR and ALDT) to the utility of the 81mm mortar. The time required for the application to reach the steady state is about 15,000H, which is about 2 years, and the sensitivity of the parameter is highest for ALDT. In order to improve combat readiness, there is a need for continuous improvement in ALDT.
