Differential Effects of Self-relevance Levels on Framing Effects in Decision Making (의사결정에서의 자기관련성 수준에 따른 틀효과의 차이)

  • This study aimed to investigate the differential effects of self-relevance on framing effects. For this purpose, the participants were allocated into two frame type conditions(positive vs. negative), and asked to respond on six decision-making scenarios manipulated by self-relevance levels(low vs. high). The results can be summarized as followings. First, although self-relevance level made no significant difference in framing effects, the positive frame condition tended to induce larger framing effects than the negative frame condition. Second, no significant interaction effect between frame type and self-relevance level condition was found in the positive condition, whereas high self-relevance level condition induced smaller framing effects than law self-relevance level condition in the negative frame condition. These results indicated that although self-relevance tended to reduce framing effects, this effect can be differed in frame types.

  • 최근 치수의 기능을 수행하면서 원래 자연하천의 모습을 보전 혹은 복원하는 "생태하천 복원 공법"의 필요성이 대두되고 있으나 구체적인 공법에 대한 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 하천 내 시설물의 조성 시 유황에 따른 자연 하안 유도와 습지형태의 생물 서식공간 조성 유무를 평가하기 위하여 평창강 일원에 목재 유도틀을 설치하고 이에 따른 지형변화, 저서무척추동물을 포함한 수생생물들의 서식특성을 분석하였다. 평창강 금당계곡 일원을 대상으로 RMA-2 모형의 범용프로그램인 SMS 모형을 통해 수리 특성분석을 실시하였고 안산에 있는 수리모형 실험장에서 기본 수리특성 실험 후 수리적 안정성이 확보된 지점에 목재 유도틀을 2009년 9월에 설치하여 유도틀 설치 전과 설치 후 2010년 10월까지의 지형변화를 분석하였다. 지형의 측량은 광파측정기(니콘 DTM-520)로 하였으며 측량된 자료를 이용하여 Contour Map을 작성하여 지형변화를 분석하였고, 유도틀 설치지역을 중심으로 2010년에 3차에 걸쳐 지형 및 생물상 변화에 대한 정량 및 정성조사를 실시하여 비교분석 하였다. 유도틀 설치 후 2010년 하절기에 집중호우에 의한 유도틀의 파손 및 형태변형 등 문제가 없어 수리적으로 안정한 것으로 판단되었다. 지형 변화의 측면에서는 유도틀 조성 전 사질로 되어있던 단순한 선형의 하안이 유도틀 설치 후 다양한 하상재질 및 형태가 변화했으며 유도틀의 배치에 따라서 굼치 및 둠벙형 습지가 형성되었다. 유도틀 설치지역의 3개지점(상부, 중간배후습지, 하부)에서 저서무척추동물에 대하여 모니터링한 결과, 설치된 유도틀의 중간지점에서 가장 높게 종의 서식이 확인되었으며 상부지점과 하부지점은 상대적으로 낮게 나왔으나 상부지점 보다는 하부지점이 양호하게 나타났다. 조사시기별 개체수의 변화에서는 종수변화와 패턴이 유사하게 나타났으며 깔다구와 꼬마줄날도래등 특정종의 증식이 많았다. 또한, 굼치 및 둠벙형 습지 내에 어류의 치어 및 유어, 양서류, 파충류등 다양한 생물의 서식이 확인되었다. 이는 유도틀에 의해 생성 및 유도된 지형변화가 하천을 기반으로 생활하는 생물들에게 다양한 피난처 및 은신처 역할을 잘 제공하고 있음을 보여준다.

  • The purpose of the study was to construct future research basis for large scale assessment framework by analyzing current domestic and international large scale assessment frameworks. Six frameworks were compared and analyzed. The characteristics of TIMSS, PISA, NAEP, NECAP were described in detail, and three frameworks, Korea, the United States, and International, were compared and analysed.

The Differential Effects of Cultural Disposition and Need for Cognitive Closure on Framing Effects (문화성향과 종결욕구에 따른 틀효과에서의 차이)

  • This study aimed to investigate the differential effects of individual's cultural disposition (individualism-collectivism or horizontal-vertical thinking) and need for cognitive closure(NFC) on framing effects. For this purpose, the participants were divided into 4 different cultural disposition groups based on Singelis et al.'s[1] INDCOL scale, and 2 different NFC groups based on Lee's[2] NFC Scale, and then asked to respond on 5 decision making scenarios. The results can be summarized as followings. First, participants preferred risk-avoidant option in gain frame, whereas risk-seeking option in loss frame. Second, there are no difference of cultural disposition on framing effects, but high NFC group showed larger framing effects than low NFC group in loss frame. Third, collectivism and vertical thinking in high NFC condition showed larger framing effects than low NFC condition.

Familiarity and Preference on Korean Typefaces by Serif and Square-Frame (한글 글꼴의 세리프 및 네모틀 여부에 따른 친숙성과 선호도)

  • Korean typefaces are characterized on two axes: a font is either serifed or non-serifed, and it is either square-frame or non-squared. A serifed font entails small strokes that are regularly attached to the ends of larger strokes. Conversely, fonts without these marks are termed sans-serif. One of the exclusive features of Korean typeface of the square-frame type is that in such fonts, vowels and consonants often with their final vowels, are harmonically placed within the boundaries of the virtual square. We hypothesize that serifed and squared-frame typefaces are more popular and preferred owing to their widespread use throughout history. A survey incorporating Korean pangrams written with serif, sans-serif, squared, and non-squared typefaces was designed to test the present hypothesis. We found that people typically preferred and were more familiar with squared typefaces compared to non-squared typefaces. However, no difference was observed between serifed and san-serif typefaces. Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between familiarity and preference ratings only where the typefaces had squared and serifed features. The results revealed that Korean typefaces with the squared feature were more well-known and, therefore, more preferred to the typefaces without it. The results further indicated that Korean typefaces with the squared feature can be recommended for people's familiarity to it and the comfort it provides, and their emotional relevance and sensibility enhanced if serifs are added.

A Software Architecture Design Method that Matches Problem Frames and Architectural Patterns (문제틀과 아키텍처 패턴의 매칭을 이용한 소프트웨어 아키텍처 설계 방법)

  • While architectural patterns provide software development solutions by providing schemas for structural organizations of software systems based on empirical knowledge, Jackson's problem frames provide a method of analyzing software problems. Problem frames are useful to understanding the software development problem, by putting emphasis on the problem domain, rather than on the solution space. Research exists that relates problem frames and software architecture, but most of this research uses problem frames only to understand given problems. Moreover, none of the existing research derives architectural patterns by considering both problem frames and quality attributes. In this paper, we propose a software architecture design method for pattern-based architecture design, by matching problem frames and architectural patterns. To that end, our approach first develops the problem model based on the problem frames approach, and then uses it to match with candidate architectural patterns, from the perspectives of both functionality, and quality attributes. Functional matching uses the problem frame diagram to match the problem model of an architectural pattern. We conduct a case study to show that our approach can systematically decide the right architectural patterns, and provide a basis for fine-grained software architecture design.

A Study on the Frames of Statistical Graphs in the Elementary School Mathematics Textbooks (초등학교 수학 교과서에서 통계 그래프의 틀에 대한 교육적 고찰)

  • Although there are various form of statistical graphs in the real world, the statistical graphs in elementary mathematics textbooks are very formalized by the pedagogical constraints. In this study, I examine the frames of statistical graphs and their educational importance, and analyze the frames in Korean, Australian, and MiC textbooks. As a result, the frames of statistical graphs in elementary mathematics textbooks (1) draws students' attention to the components of the graphs, (2) plays a supplementary role in students' drawing graphs by hands, and (3) helps to apply school mathematics to statistical problem solving in real life. The frames of statistical graphs in Korean textbooks is the form of tables focusing on (1) and (2), but these of MiC textbooks has various forms focusing on (3). On the other hand, Austalian textbooks introduced the table-form frames of statistical graphs at the lower graders, but gradually changed to the axis-form frames as the grade level increased. Based on this, a recommendation was drawn on how to deal with the frames of statistical graphs in elementary mathematics textbooks.

The Relationship between the Perception of Pre-Service Elementary School Teachers' 'Scientific Creativity' and 'Scientific Creativity Education': Focus on Creativity 'within a Frame' and 'between Frames' (예비초등교사의 '과학 창의성'과 '과학 창의성 교육'에 대한 인식의 연관성 -틀 내 및 틀 간 창의성을 중심으로-)

  • In this study, the relationship between the perception of 'scientific creativity' and 'scientific creativity education' of pre-service elementary school teachers was explored, focusing on the creativity within and between the framework. Within-frame creativity is divided into theoretical creativity and experimental creativity that operate within the paradigm, and between-frame creativity refers to theoretical creativity that brings about paradigm shift. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, and the analysis was performed based on the categories within and between the frames. As a result, pre-service elementary school teachers mainly understood scientific creativity as the scientific creativity within a frame. And they consider scientific creativity in various ways in experimental and theoretical creativity aspects within a frame. On the other hand, they thought that scientific creativity education was possible in terms of experimental creativity within a frame. Based on the results of this study, we would like to discuss the attributes of scientific creativity that can be considered in science education and its educational direction.

The Effects of Hangul Letter Form On Readability (한글의 글자꼴과 문장의 가독성)

  • 네모틀 글자꼴인 명조체와 고딕체, 탈네모틀 글자꼴인 샘물체와 한체, 한체로서 받침없는 글자의 높낮이를 조절한 변형한체, 명조체로서 가로대 세로의 비율을 변형시킨 장평50과 장평150의 글자꼴을 문장의 가독성과 미려함의 차원에서 비교하였다. 또한 글줄간격에 따라 이들 글자꼴에서의 차이가 어떻게 달라지는지 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 네모틀 글자꼴의 가독성이 대체로 탈네모틀 글자꼴보다 더 좋았으나, 이러한 차이는 글줄간격에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 미려함 차원에서도 네모틀 글자꼴이 탈네모틀 글자꼴보다 더 높게 평정되었다.
