A Case Study of the Effective Strategy Fostering Library-Assisted Instruction Based on the Fixed Schedule of Subject-Specific Classes (개별 교과의 고정 시간표를 활용한 도서관활용수업 활성화 전략에 관한 사례 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to indicate a case that applied forming a instructional community-establishing instructional strategies-developing learning and assessment toolkits as a connective strategy between information literacy and curricula to foster the Library-Assisted instruction(LAI). In this case a new instructional community consisted of a teacher librarian, a korean language teacher, a korean history teacher and a korean geography teacher of the 10th grade. The community developed integrated learning topics connected with subject-specific classes and designed LAI's instructional strategy. Finally learning and assessment toolkits containing information problem solving and resources using model were designed by this community. This method can provide students with enough time in using resources and teach information literacy systematically. Also it will help teacher librarians improve leadership and partnership in the school community.

Analysis of Curriculum Management and Proposal of BIM Educational Strategy in Architecture Design (건축설계 과정에서 융합적 사고능력 향상을 위한 국내 대학의 BIM 교육과정 운영실태 분석과 교육전략 제안)

  • In order to meet the needs of integrated design process in architect industry, BIM(Building Information Modeling) education in university is urgently needed. However, the investigation of the current status of BIM education at 60 universities shows that most universities do not offer BIM education at all, or opened only one regular course for BIM education. The survey on BIM education for students shows that non-curricular activities brought bigger educational achievements than regular courses. Considering these findings and the practical restrictions of the universities, and through evaluation and feedback from professors as educational providers and working architects as professional users, the desirable strategy for BIM education in architect design was able to be suggested, which is consisted of regular curriculum of two courses and 40 hours non-curricular activities.

A Case Study on Implementation of a School-Based Tooth Brushing Program in Gangneung City, Korea (강릉시 일부 초등학교 양치교실 운영 사례 보고)

  • In 2011, South Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare started a national tooth brushing room program without a pilot project. This study aimed to assess the effect of the implementation of this program in Gangneung, Korea. One-year outcomes of oral health behavior and self-reported oral symptoms in the study group after installation of the tooth brushing room were evaluated and compared with those of the control group using chi-square test. The prevalence rate of good self-rated oral health in grade 1-3 students increased from 35.7% immediately after installation to 48.9% after 6 months (p=0.031) compared to 37.3% in the control group (p=0.051). Immediately after installation of the tooth brushing room, 53.5% of grade 1-3 students in the study group brushed their teeth every day, but after 6 months, only 35.5% of students brushed daily (p<0.001) compared to 28.6% in the control group (p=0.007). The prevalence rate of bad breath in grade 1-3 students was 26.2% for the study group immediately after installation compared to 25.5% in the control group (p=0.065), but it declined 16.5% after 6 months (p=0.055). The prevalence rate of bad breath in grade 4~6 students was 14.7% for the study group after 6 months compared to 25.3% in the control group (p=0.016). We recommend the creation of a healthy school environment through a school-based tooth brushing program under the active supervision of classroom teachers and the continuous monitoring of program processes in order to promote children's oral health.

  • Motivated by the open access movement, research institutions are building Institutional repositories for a nation-wide knowledge distribution infrastructure. IKIS (Institute Knowledge Inventory System) was proposed to integrate materials produced by government-sponsored 23 institutions of the economic, social and human fields, to contribute for policy-making in national agenda and to proffer services to a people. As IKIS project goes on. the project turns out to be slower than planned especially In terms of building up content and improving system functions. This study aims to investigate the methods for promoting the system in terms of management and system developments using multiple research methods such as surveys and interviews. Five issues including budgets and marketing are proposed for the management strategies, whereas three ones Including content and system performance improvements are suggested for the system development. The study results can be utilized as guidelines for managing university and school repositories as well as IKIS.

수학영재교육 프로그램의 설계 및 교수전략 - 기하학을 중심으로 -

  • 기하는 수학의 기초를 이루는 중요한 영역이다. 그러나 기하교육을 위한 프로그램 설계와 교수전략에 대한 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 그러므로 현장의 수학교사들에 의한 프로그램개발과 동시에 프로그램과 지도방법을 통합하는 수학교사들의 지속적인 연구가 절실히 요구된다. 이에 본 연구는 영재의 특성들을 고려하고 교사 중심의 강의식 수업보다는 토론, 발표, 세미나에 적합한 프로그램을 구안해 보았다. 프로그램 설계의 내용적 면에서는 기하학의 한 방법인 해석기하학과 현재 고등학교에서 다루는 Euclid 초등기하의 한계를 넘어 공선(共線), 공점(共點)의 비계량적 개념의 사영기하학을 도입하였다. 그리고 프로그램을 운영하는 방법적인 면에서는 문제제시단계, 문제해결단계, 수학적 개념추출단계, 수학화 단계, 확장단계의 단계별 절차를 두었다. 이와 같은 수학영재교육 프로그램의 설계 및 교수전략의 목적은 수학영재들을 새로운 문제와 지식을 제안하고 생산하는 수학 창조자를 만들고자 하는데 있다.

  • This paper develops a multi-casting system could be used in a school and hospital and government and municipal public offices. The developed multi-casting system uses various educational multimedia titles effectively and is capable of remote control by using a network(LAN). The developed system includes speaker control module that make individual or group broadcasting, AV contents control module for using a diverse educational multimedia title effectively and light control module. The system uses RS-485C communication module and the effective control system interface based on GUI.

  • 로봇은 지식기반사회에서의 요구하는 기초 능력과 문제해결력 함양을 위한 학습을 충족시켜줄 것으로 기대된다. 또한 로봇교육은 공학적으로 여러 기술이 관련되어 있으므로 통합적인 기초 교육이 가능하게 할 것이다. 그러나 학습 내용, 학습 방법 및 학습 교재에 대한 연구가 부족하므로 외국에서 실시하고 있는 로봇교육과정을 분석하였다. 해외 사례 분석 결과 로봇을 통해 기초 능력과 문제해결력을 함양하기 위한 교육목표를 체계적으로 달성하기 위해서는 학교 교육과정으로 운영되어야 하며 로봇의 특성과 관련된 과학, 수학, 기술, 공학의 내용 요소들을 추출하며 로봇소양에 대한 내용뿐만 아니라 로봇활용에 대한 내용으로도 구성해야 하며 로봇 창작 시스템을 이용하여 단순한 로봇 조립보다는 창작 및 프로그래밍의 과정이 이루어질 때 효과적으로 학습의 성과를 거둘 수 있을 것이다.

  • 비즈니스 룰(Business Rule)은 하나의 목적을 성취하기 위해 조직에 적용하는 운영, 정의, 제약으로 구성되는 하나의 규칙이다. 이를 효율적으로 통합 관리하는 시스템이 BRMS(Business Rule Management System)이다. 대학에서의 졸업사정은 학사과정의 마지막 단계로 여러 복합적 충족 여부를 검사하는 과정이다. 학교의 전반적인 규칙이나 해마다 교육과정의 변화가 있어 프로그래밍 구현이 어렵고, 졸업사정시스템을 전산화하기 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 비즈니스 룰의 장점들을 활용해 변화를 빠르고 정확하게 반영하는 BRMS를 이용하여 졸업사정시스템의 설계를 제안하고자 한다.

A Study on Elementary and Middle School Teachers' Perception on the Application and Quality Management Plan of Science Curriculum according to the 2009 Revised Curriculum (2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 과학과 교육과정 적용과 질 관리 방안에 관한 초·중학교 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the direction of application and quality management plan of science curriculum of elementary and middle school according to the 2009 revised curriculum. In order to do this, nationwide survey was administered. The subject was 126 elementary school teachers and 88 middle school science teachers. It was founded that teachers had negative opinion on the introduction of the grade cluster system. They considered that it was appropriate to link the contents of Science subject with Practical Arts(Technology Home Economics) subject by similar topic. Science classes were implemented without changing the number of class hours in most schools. They recognized the necessity of differentiated instruction in science classes, but they seldom applied the differentiated instruction. And they suggested that the teaching-learning materials, evaluation materials and contents be provided to apply the STEAM. This study designates the following strategic supports for the effective implementation of 2009 revised science curriculum; 1) the science teachers training program to provide useful information for understanding and teaching the 2009 revised science curriculum, 2) the teachers' community in the school, 3) the development and provision of the feasible STEAM plans.

A Comparative Study on the Contents of Secondary Earth Science Curriculum between Mongolia and South Korea (몽골과 한국의 지구과학 교과 내용 비교 연구)

  • This study compared and analyzed the contents of secondary earth science curriculum in Mongolia and South Korea to check the contents of earth science education in both countries and to prepare basic data necessary for future earth science curriculum revisions. The research questions of this study are: first, to understand the changes and current operating conditions of earth science curriculum in both countries, to compare and analyze with other foreign cases, and second, to compare and analyze the contents of earth science and curriculum in both countries. The TIMSS evaluation framework is used to compare and analyze the earth science-related contents included in the science curriculum of middle schools. For analyzing the contents of high school, the contents of NGSS in the United States and the earth science curriculum contents of high schools in South Korea were mixed and the analysis frameworks were created and validated by experts. As a result of the study, countries that follow the Russian-style education system did not organize and operate earth science as an independent science subject, and deal with earth science-related content in the natural geography area of the geography subject. The earth science contents covered in middle school science curriculum in both countries, 18 of the 27 content elements of the TIMSS content analysis framework were matched in Mongolia and 20 in South Korea. In high school curriculum, the contents of earth science in Mongolia were described more briefly and not covered than in South Korea. In particular, the Mongolian geography curriculum dealt with many environmental issues. The emphasis on the operation method of the earth science curriculum in Mongolia and the contents related to the environment can be used as a reference when developing an interdisciplinary integrated curriculum of science and social studies in South Korea.
