조사통계 현황과 장래 (토론)

  • 통계학만 전공해도 취업이 잘 되고 생활이 보장될 수 있다는 긍지를 가질 수 있도록 통계에 대한 인식제고 및 사회적 대우를 고양할 수 있는 방안이 강구되어야 한다. 지방자치제 운영에 대비하여 지역통계발전에 대한 대비책을 마련하여 지역특성에 적합한 표본설계를 함으로써 조사통계의 활성화를 기하도록 해야 한다. 양질 통계만이 생산될 수 있도록 통계작성자에 대한 자격부여제도를 법적으로 마련할 수 있도록 연구하여 실행토록 해야 한다.

Part-of-Speech Tagging Using Complemental Characteristics of Linguistic Knowledge and Stochastic Information (언어 지식과 통계 정보의 보완적 특성을 이용한 품사 태깅)

  • 기존의 품사 태깅 방법에서 독립적으로 사용해온 언어 지식과 통계 정보는 품사 태깅의 정확도와 처리 범위의 향상을 위해서 상호 보완적인 특성을 갖는다. 이에 본 논문은 언어 지식과 통계 정보의 보완적 특성을 이용한 규칙 우선 직렬 품사 태깅 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 언어 지식에 의한 품사 태깅 결과를 선호함으로써 규칙 기반 품사 태깅의 정확도를 유지하며, 언어 지식에 의해서 모호성이 해소되지 않은 어절에 통계 정보에 의한 품사 태깅 결과를 할당함으로써 통계 기반 품사 태깅의 처리 범위를 유지한다. 또한, 수정 언어 지식에 의해 태깅 결과의 오류를 보정함으로써 품사 태깅의 정확도를 향상시킨다. 약 2만 어절 크기의 외부 평가 코퍼스에 대해 수행된 실험 결과, 규칙 우선 직렬 품사 태깅 시스템은 통계 정보만을 이용한 품사 태깅의 정확도보다 32.70% 향상된 95.43%의 정확도를 보였다.

Customer Satisfaction of Statistical Quality of Information & Communication Technology (정보통신산업 통계품질 향상을 위한 이용자 만족도 조사)

  • Upon rapid growth of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Korea, the necessity of improved quality of official statistics in ICT is uprising. In order to improve the quality of ICT statistics, various factors such as survey quality, processing quality, output quality and reputation of statistical agency need to be considered together. We use a structural equation model to find a relationship among such factors which can influence the customer satisfaction. Furthermore, this study provides customer with characterized feedback information by comparing the satisfaction indices. It is expected that our model can be used to improve the quality of official ICT statistics.

Estimations of Forest Growing Stocks in Small-area Level Considering Local Forest Characteristics (산림의 지역적 특성을 고려한 시군구 임목축적량 통계 산출 기법 개발)

  • Forest statistics of local administrative districts have many social needs, nevertheless we have some difficulties for working out an accurate statistics because of insufficient data in small-area level. Thus, new small-area estimation method has to set aside additional data, decrease errors of statistics and consider the local forest characteristics at the same time. In this study, we researched the spatial divisions that can set aside additional data for statistics production and satisfy the major premise, which is "forest characteristics of spatial divisions have to be equal to that of small-area". And we compared synthetic estimation methods based on three different spatial divisions(provinces, neighbor districts and new expanded districts). New expanded districts were divided based on the criteria of climate, soil type and tree species composition that affects local forest characteristics. Small-area statistics were assessed in terms of the ability to estimate local forest characteristics and consistency within large-area statistics. As a result, new expanded districts synthetic estimation was assessed to calculate statistics that reflects local forest characteristics better than other two estimation methods. Moreover, this synthetic estimation method produced the statistics that was included within 95% confidence interval of large-area statistics and was the closer to large-area statistics than the neighbor districts synthetic estimation.

A Study on the Characteristics of Repeat Foreign Tourists to Korea (한국을 재방문하는 외래 관광객의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study is focused on analyzing the characteristics of repeat foreign tourists to Korea and suggest how to increase the repeat ratio. As the result of analysis, there were significant differences in the variables of sex, age, country in the case of demographic characteristics and in the variables of travel types, the number of company, the purpose of visit, accommodations, major visiting places and visiting areas in the case of travel characteristic. And also there were significant differences in the variables of accommodation fees per person and expenses per person in their own country in the case of travel expenses and in the variables of immigration formalities, public transportations, accommodations, foods, shopping, tourist attractions and security in the case of satisfaction. Lastly there were significant differences in the variables of revisit intention within 3 years, recommendation intention, the image of Korea(before trip) and the image of Korea(after trip) in the case of behavior intention after trip and image evaluation. Therefore it should be considered the characteristics of repeat foreign tourists when we make the tourism products to increase the repeat ratio.

  • 다양한 통계기법을 이용하는 연구자들은 부적합한 통계기법을 선정하여 수집된 자료를 분석함에 따라 많은 오류를 범하고 있는 실정이며, 자신의 연구목적에 부합되는 통계기법을 선정함에 있어 어느 기법을 선택할 것인가 하는 문제에 직면하게 된다. 본 연구에서 구축한 통계기법 선정을 위한 전문가 시스템(AS/TS)은 수집된 자료의 특성과 연구목적에 적합한 기법을 연구자에게 선정해주는 전문가 시스템이다. 현존하는 대부분의 통계 패키지들은 이용자 자신의 연구목적에 가장 적합한 통계기법을 선택할 수 있는 지식을 지니고 있는 것으로 전제하고 있기 때문에, AS/TS는 이들 통계 패키지를 이용하기 전에 통계기법만 선택해 주도록 설계되었다. AS/TS는 MS-DOS를 탑재한 16bit 퍼스널 컴퓨터로 INSIGHT 2(shell)를 이용하여 구축하였다.

Relationship among Public's Risk Characteristics, Risk Severity, Risk Perception and Risk Acceptability of Human Stem Cell Technology (공중의 체세포복제기술에 대한 위험특성, 위험심각성, 위험인식 및 위험수용의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among public's risk characteristics, risk severity, risk perception and risk acceptability of human stem cell technology. The subjects were 300 Koreans selected. The data were analyzed by the exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis and structural equation modeing analysis. The results were as followed. First, public's risk characteristics on human stem cell technology influenced positively on risk severity. Second, public's risk characteristics on human stem cell technology influenced positively on risk perception. Third, public's risk severity on human stem cell technology influenced positively on risk perception. Fourth, public's risk characteristics on human stem cell technology influenced negatively on risk acceptability. Fifth, public's risk severity on human stem cell technology influenced not significantly on risk acceptability. Sixth, public's risk perception on human stem cell technology influenced not significantly on risk acceptability. These results will contribute to develop the risk communication strategy on the acceptability of human stem cell technology.

  • Recently, some advanced statistical agencies have great concern on the quality of statistics which is defined in the context of being' fit for use'. In this paper, we present a concept for statistics quality control, elements of statistics quality, 8 procedures for sampling survey. We also suggest quality guidelines for sampling survey statistics.

Fast Integer-Pel Motion Estimation Based on Statistical Property for H.264/AVC (H.264/AVC를 위한 통계 특성 기반 정수 화소 단위 고속 움직임 예측 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient fast integer-pel motion estimation for H.264/AVC using local statistics of local motion vectors. Using neighboring motion vectors, we define a new statistical property that is used to determine a mode of motion search range of current block. In addition, an adaptive motion search range compensated method that is based on cumulative statistics of previous coded blocks is addressed to solve the problem of the statistical motion search range decision method. Experimental results show that proposed algorithm has the capability to reduce the computational cost over the other methods.
