Experiment of Computation of Ground Cutting Volume Using Terrestrial LiDAR Data (지상 LiDAR 자료의 절토량 산정 실험)

  • Terrestrial LiDAR can measure high capacity 3D-topography coordinates and try to apply to various public works such as tunnel surveying, facility deformation surveying. This experiment is about how to calculate ground cutting volume because the stage of the earth work spend lots of money and time among civil engineering works. Surveying cutting area using Terrestrial LiDAR and then calculating cutting area in planned area comparing sectional plan before construction and planned section and LiDAR data. Also, the values of the calculating ground cutting volume by three different resolution LiDAR has are compared and analyzed.

The Establishment of Roles and Titles of Quality Control Personnel for Construction Project Quality Assurance (건설공사 품질확보를 위한 품질관리 관련자의 역할 및 호칭 정립)

  • The quality control personnel of the construction work shall establish and execute the quality control plan or the quality test plan and check the qualification of the used materials according to the process, the management of the test and inspection equipment, the quality education, the own quality inspection and measures. Management and quality test of Korea and plays an important role in preventing accidents. However, related organizations did not explicitly disclose their roles in quality testing and quality control tasks while changing the names of quality control personnel to test personnel and quality managers when revising related laws and regulations and the application of labor costs. Therefore, a research of this is needed to improve conflicting situation. In this study, the ambiguous title relation to the quality control persons is improved to meet the requirements of the construction work based on related laws and regulations, and each role and title is classified as 'quality tester' and 'quality manager'. In other words, the person who carries out the quality test of the "Construction Quality Test Standard" specified in the Guideline for Quality Management of Construction Projects shall be the "Quality Tester" and the person who performs the quality control plan establishment and execution work specified in the Enforcement Rule of the Construction Technology Promotion Act shall be referred to as the 'Quality Manager'.

  • In the construction industry, not only safety accidents, but also various complex risks such as construction delays, cost increases, and environmental pollution occur, and management technologies are needed to solve them. Among them, process risk management, which directly affects the project, lacks related information compared to its importance. This study tried to develop a MATM tunnel process risk classification system to solve the difficulty of risk information retrieval due to the use of different classification systems for each project. Risk collection used existing literature review and experience mining techniques, and DB construction utilized the concept of natural language processing. For the structure of the classification system, the existing WBS structure was adopted in consideration of compatibility of data, and an RBS linked to the work species of the WBS was established. As a result of the research, a risk classification system was completed that easily identifies risks by work type and intuitively reveals risk characteristics and risk factors linked to risks. As a result of verifying the usability of the established classification system, it was found that the classification system was effective as risks and risk factors for each work type were easily identified by user input of keywords. Through this study, it is expected to contribute to preventing an increase in cost and construction period by identifying risks according to work types in advance when planning and designing NATM tunnels and establishing countermeasures suitable for those factors.

  • Digital map is very important digital geographic information which is the base for various fields such as building and using the geographic information system (GIS), planing the regional development, and etc. Therefore, it needs high accuracy. Then we offer the advanced technique which minimizes errors on digital maps, using the automated inspection through the whole figures. In addition this new technique raises the economical efficiency as well as accuracy applying the automated error detection method which can recognize, search and classify errors automatically.

  • 수질오염 저감을 위한 유기물질의 처리를 위해 생물학적 처리에 중점을 둔 하 폐수 처리시설의 증가에 따라 BOD로 대표되는 생분해성 유기물질은 꾸준히 감소하였으나, COD농도의 경우 뚜렷한 감소를 보이지 않고 있다. 유기물질 중 특히 난분해성 물질의 증가는 상수원으로 사용되는 하천의 경우 조류 증식 등을 유발하고 여과공정에 영향을 미쳐 상수처리의 효율을 떨어뜨리는 등의 환경적인 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 기존 BOD, COD로 대표되는 유기물질의 경우 각 유기물질별 상관관계 및 유출특성 등에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어졌으나, 난분해성 물질에 대한 조사는 상대적으로 미진한 실정이다. 특히 동진강수계는 '새만금 제2단계 수질개선종합대책' 등 장기적인 수질개선 대책들이 추진되면서 하천의 BOD5 및 TP는 감소추세를 보이고 있으나, COD는 개선되지 않고 증가하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 동진강의 말단부의 경우 COD/BOD5의 비율이 지속적으로 증가하는 추세를 보이고 있어 상대적으로 난분해성 유기물질에 대한 관리의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 COD 및 COD/BOD5의 증가 추세는 국내 4대강에서 전반적으로 나타나고 있는 추세로서, 정부는 2013년부터 하천 및 호소의 생활환경기준에 TOC 항목을 도입하여 2016년부터 호소환경기준의 대표항목을 COD에서 TOC로 대체하였으며, 폐수배출시설에 대해서도 점차적으로 확대 적용할 계획으로, 난분해성물질을 포함하는 총유기물질 관리를 위해서 수질 및 수생태계 환경기준에서 유기물질에 대한 환경기준을 BOD5와 COD에서 TOC로 변경하는 정책을 추진 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 동진강 유역의 본류 및 지류에서 TOC등 유기물질의 시공간적인 분포와 오염원별 배출특성을 현장조사를 통해 조사 분석하였다. 조사 시기는 건기시, 강우시로 구분하여 수행하였으며 조사항목은 일반수질항목, 유기물질 항목, 유기물질 성상 분석 등에 대하여 수행하였다. 난분해성물질 관리를 위한 기초자료확보를 통하여 새만금호의 수질개선 및 목표수질 달성에 기여 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Generally, The way of long hole blasting is carried out in coal-face, basic excavation for dam, mine etc. Recently, this long hole blasting has been implemented in civil engineering for efficiency & economic feasibility. National express no.600 of Pusan outer high-express ${\bigcirc}$ construction site with four lanes of the length of 8km was also a site applied by long hole blasting. But After blasting, tunnel advance rate is less than 75%. As a result of that, Follow-up working time is influenced. Thereby, The total of working process is significantly so increased that planned excavation cannot be implemented many times. For not only improve excavation rate but reduce working process time in job site, we introduce blasting case which apply the ${\phi}36mm$ explosive suited for high desity of charging among long hole blasting in order to overcome mentioned problem.

  • Building information modeling (BIM) has been receiving attention as an integrated information model instead of CAD since the 2000s. BIM technology was first used in the architectural field and was later introduced to the civil engineering field. However, the government announced a plan for the application of BIM to 20% of all SOC projects from 2020, so the adoption of BIM technology is expected to accelerate. In order to successfully adopt BIM, a systematic structure should be supported for integrated design information and implementation technology. Also, it is important to establish the relationship between information systems because many complicated factors are intertwined in the construction industry. In this study, we propose a framework for constructing integrated information through identifying the information relations for introducing BIM in the civil engineering industry. We applied this framework to a bridge project to confirm its effectiveness. This study can be applied to the integrated management of the construction process and costs by introduction of a work breakdown structure (WBS) to BIM. In addition, this study is expected to contribute to the adoption of BIM in the civil engineering field through the proposal of information system standardization in this field.

A GIS-Based Planning Methodology to Determine the Haul Route Layout in Complex Construction Projects (GIS를 이용한 토공 운반로 탐색 방법론 - 단지공사 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • The layout of haul routes within a construction site of large complex projects needs to be carefully determined as the productivity of earthwork activity heavily depends on the efficiency of the layout and the routes are not likely to change once they are settled. This paper aims to provide a construction planner with a reliable framework to create an efficient layout of haul routes within a large complex construction site. To construct the framework, five factors affecting haul route layout and the productivity of earthwork activity are described along with the associated rules of thumb recommended by design and field experts. In addition, a methodology based on spatial analysis using raster format in GIS is proposed to further increase haul route efficiency. The proposed planning framework enables a construction planner to easily find a more reliable route layout by thoroughly considering the key factors prior to setting up an earthmoving plan.

Case Study of Cooperative Learning Simulating Turn-Key System in Design Class for Environmental Engineering (턴키 제도를 모사한 환경공학 설계과목의 협동학습 적용사례)

  • In this research, a case study for cooperative learning practiced in a design class for environmental engineering was presented. Designing a treatment facility for urban diffuse pollution was a main problem given to the participants. Turn-key system for civil works were simulated throughout class works. Twenty five students were grouped into four virtual companies and assigned own position from chairperson to workers. Each group competed throughout establishing design concept regarding order, expense calculation, process distribution, actual calculation. Best design with lowest bidding won the first place. For evaluating class effectiveness, one student from each group were monitored thorough semester. Participants were improved for their understanding about company establishment, turn-key system management, awareness about personal management, and presentation skills. Tension of the class was effectively elevated as well.

The Preventive Maintenance Strategy in Operation Stage of Bridge using Bayesian Inference (베이지안 추론법을 이용한 교량 운영단계에서의 예방적 유지관리 전략)

  • In this paper, the preventive maintenance strategy in operation stage of a bridge using Bayesian inference is proposed. The proposed technique can be used to predict the variation in the performance (or condition) of the bridge with higher accuracy, considering the uncertainty of monitoring. The applicability of the proposed method to the existing bridges is verified and analyzed that have an advantage in terms of maintenance cost efficiency compared to the conventional periodic maintenance system, which establishes maintenance after damage. It is expected that the proposed preventive maintenance method can be used to overcome the limitation of the conventional periodic maintenance method and to make practical bridge maintenance decision.
