포스트모더니즘(Postmodernism)과 텍스타일 디자인을 위한 연구 (Developement of Print Designs Inspired from Postmodernity)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the influnce of Postmodernism on 90's fashion trends, and to present applications of it's inspiration to print design. 90's fashion trends represented in fashion magazines, in fashion trend reports, and in related books were anlyzed. Informations referring to two selected target markets were collected by phone interview. In 90's fashion trends, seven fashion images seemed to be influenced from Postmodernism emerged. Based on these seven fashion images, several print designs were created and developed for one domestic market and for one export market.

유미주의가 텍스타일 디자인에 미친 영향 (The effect Aestheticism on Textile Design)

  • 유미 운동은 산업화에 대한 반발하며 디자인의 질을 고양시켜 삶의 질을 향상시키자는 미적 운동이었다. 유미 운동은 대중에게 미적 감각을 심어주어 대중의 생활의 질을 개선하고 따라서, 디자인의 질을 개선하며 예술을 위한 예술을 추구하는 운동이었다. 이러한 유미 운동의 밑거름이 되는 유미주의는 총체적인 미적 개념을 강조하였으며, 이러한 미적 개념은 텍 스타일 디자인 운동에 새로운 활기를 불어넣어 주었다. 본 논문은 기계생산이 불러일으킨 빅토리아 사회를 정화시키고 미적 감각을 전하는 유미주의에 대한 연구를 통하여 유미주의 이 텍 스타일을 디자인에 미친 영향을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통한 유미주의가 텍 스타일 디자인에 미친 영향은 다음과 같이 분석된다 : 첫째로, 일본예술의 영향으로 텍 스타일 디자인을 2차원적으로 접근하도록 유도하여 단순하고 담대한 성격의 디자인으로 이끌었다. 둘째로, 라파엘 전파의 운동의 영향으로 텍 스타일 디자인의 색채는 연한 색조를 띠게 되었다. 셋째로, 모리스의 자연을 영감으로 한 창의적인 디자인이 성공적인 경지에 오르면서 디자인의 질이 향상되는데 이바지하게 되었다. 넷째로, 유미 운동의 절대적인 영향을 받은 리버티 회사의 창의적인 디자인은 미적 추구를 위함과 동시에 디자인의 질을 향상시키려는 모리스, 고드 윈, 루이스 데이 등의 노력에 합세하여 궁극적으로 창의적인 현대의 영국의 텍 스타일 디자인을 이룩하는데 지대한 공헌을 하였다.

세계화 시대의 패션디자인 문화적 전유에 관한 연구 - 전통문화를 중심으로 - (A Study on Cultural Appropriation of Fashion Design in the Era of Globalization - Focusing on Traditional Culture -)

  • In the era of globalization, cultural appropriation, stemming from the interaction and clash of diverse cultures, remains inadequately defined, leading to controversy in many designs. This study aims to provide a theoretical basis for understanding cultural appropriation by comparing similar concepts and examining specific cases. It proposes methods for the rational use of traditional cultures in apparel to minimize controversy. Firstly, the study investigates the concept of cultural appropriation by exploring differences among related terms. Secondly, it examines instances of cultural appropriation in fashion through form, color, pattern, and material, drawing from papers and Google searches over the past decade. Thirdly, it categorizes representative cases by domestic and foreign fashion brands, analyzing the underlying reasons. The goal is to establish a theoretical foundation for developing culturally sensitive clothing products. Based on the findings, several measures are proposed: understanding and respecting cultural backgrounds through in-depth research on the history and significance of elements; collaborating with cultural groups and consulting experts for feedback; explaining the source of design inspiration to help consumers understand the cultural elements' meanings; avoiding the reinforcement of stereotypes and respecting cultural diversity and complexity; respecting intellectual property and ensuring moral and legal appropriateness; and learning from case studies of other designers' and brands' successes and failures.

자수 디자인의 디지털화에 의한 시각적 표현효과 (Visual Expression Effect by Digitization of Embroidery Design)

  • 본 연구는 디지털 패션디자인 영역이 확장되고 있는 현시점에서 자수 특유의 시각적 표현효과를 보다 쉽고 다양하게 의복 디자인에 접목할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하고자 자수 디자인의 디지털화에 의한 시각적 표현 효과가 실제 의상과 가상의상에서도 동일한 효과를 나타내는지 비교하였다. 컴퓨터 자수기를 이용한 실제 자수 모티브와 디지털화에 의한 DTP 자수 모티브, 디지털 모티브를 생성하였으며 의복에서의 시각적 표현효과를 비교하고자 각각의 자수 모티브가 들어간 패치포켓 형태의 T-셔츠를 제작하였다. 자수기로 제작한 자수가 삽입된 의복과 디지털화된 자수 모티브를 디지털텍스타일프린팅하여 제작된 의복의 시각적 효과를 비교한 결과, 색상(3.5), 질감(4.0), 광택(3.8), 두께(3.5)에서 자수원사의 컬러와 두께감 등 시각적으로 충분히 자수의 질감, 광택의 표현 효과를 나타낼 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 가상의복의 자수 표현효과에 있어서도, 색상(3.8), 질감(4.3), 광택(3.9), 두께(3.6)의 높은 일치도를 보여, 우리는 디지털화된 자수모티브도 기존 자수 특유의 시각적 표현 효과를 충분히 구현할 수 있는 도구임을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Printing process has been a major sector in the textile industries for a long period of time. With the advent of digital textile printing, the complex procedures of printing preparations and after-treatment processes have been streamlined. For the design of the motives of images to be printed, the use of image handling software, e.g. Photoshop(Adobe), has been of prime importance. Even though the software is extremely useful and functionally versatile, there are many laborious steps involved for the specific textile printing process. The use of a CAD-based textile printing function may help the textile printing process in streamlining the complex processing stages. The image qualities of the output designs have been compared objectively with the aid of several image similarity evaluation schemes including the SSIM, and FSIM Index methods.

여성복 텍스타일디자인의 특성과 감성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of Domestic Textile Deigns and Trend Sensibility for Women's Apparel)

  • This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of domestic textile designs for miss and madam apparel and to find out the trend sensibility felt by young female judge according to the product year and apparel target age. Textile designs of 170 pictures of 1999 and 1994-1995 were collected at 4 shopping malls and from consumers, and results are as follows; As the sources of textile design were 'nature', 'imagination', and 'combination' used in the order of frequence, but the sources appeared more diverse in 1999 than in 1994-1995. The interpretation techniques expressed most often were 'stylized', 'geometry', and the mast frequent arrangements were 'all over', and the second was '4-way' in 19941995, '2-way' in 1999, that is, the arrangement were different according to product year. The trend sensibility were varying to the target age and product year.1999 apparel products were felt more 'sophisticated', 'contemporary', and 'sporty' if they were the textile designs for miss, while 1994-1995 products were more 'sophisticated', 'contemparary', and 'sporty' if for madam.

스웨덴의 인본적 기능주의 디자인과 스벤스크 텐 (Swedish Humanitarian Functionalism Design and Svenskt Tenn)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 인테리어 분야에서 스웨덴의 현대 디자인 발전에 지대한 영향을 미친 스벤스크 텐의 철학과 인본적 기능주의 디자인의 형성과정과 특성을 알아보고자 함이다. 연구를 함에 있어 스벤스크 텐이 형성되던 동시대 건축과 가구디자인의 디자인 패러다임을 연구하고 이 고유의 브랜드가 당시 유럽의 기능주의 디자인의 흐름 속에서 어떻게 스웨디시 모던 스타일의 대표 주자로 자리 잡게 되었는지에 대한 과정을 이론적으로 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 1930년대 이후 스벤스크 텐의 독창적 정체성을 형성하는 데 결정적 기여를 한 요셉 프랭크의 가구 및 텍스타일 디자인을 동시대 스웨덴의 디자인 사례와 비교하여 스벤스크 텐이 실현하고자 한 인본적 기능주의 디자인을 형태적 재료적 측면에서 분석하고 이를 개념화하였다. 이에 대한 결론은 다음과 같다. 1)공간과 요소, 양식과 기능의 유기성, 2)아말감화를 통한 독창적 공간, 3)추상적 패턴을 통한 공간의 열린 감성, 4)공간을 파괴하지 않는 가구의 형태, 5)합리적 기능주의의 한계 극복.

빅토리안 문양(文樣)이 현대(現代) 텍스타일 제품(製品) 디자인에 미친 영향(影響) (The Influence of the Victorian Pattern on the Modern Textile Product Designs)

  • This study aims to understand the history of the Victorian age that attached importance to various designs and aesthetic aspects by art and craft movement, and to present that the Victorian pattern is a factor with unlimited possibility in application and development of the modern textile product designs. Therefore, through documents research home and abroad, I considered the periodical background of the Victorian style, a change course of textile, and the theoretical backing of the Victorian pattern, and I studied and analyzed the cases of being applied in the modern textile product designs by classifying apparel, home interior, and fashion accessories. First of all, in apparel, the Victorian pattern transformed into geometrical form had much relative importance, and secondly, in the home interior, the Victorian pattern was expressed realistically or it was represented more boldly and complexly with new materials or techniques introduced. Thirdly, in fashion accessories, decorative nature was shown in intense design with the real description of the Victorian flower pattern and brilliant colors. With these results, it was found out that when the Victorian pattern was applied in the modern textile product designs, it was the factor that could be expected to make a high value added suitable with the modern sense, and it was the pattern with developmental potential with its unlimited use range. Therefore, based on this study, it is considered that the development of textile product designs utilizing the Victorian pattern and academic research, reorganizing the Victorian pattern in accordance with the modern design should be continued.

문화콘텐츠로서 백제 무령왕릉의 유물을 활용한 텍스타일 디자인 개발 (Textile design development using relics of the Tomb of King Muryeong of Baekje as a cultural content)

  • In modern society, culture is an important factor to form a country's image and identity and a representative content to generate revenue. Culture is a keyword to design life in the 21st century and has become competitiveness between countries. As a cultural content with international competitiveness, this study performed textile design development with the use of relics from the Tomb of King Muryeong, which is the tumulus of King Muryeong who was the 25th king of Baekje among Korean history. The developed design could be applied to the production of various fashion cultural products such as clothes, scarf, neck-tie, and bag. The process for the design development was carried out as follows: As a first step, this study found basis as a cultural content with a global sense that could form the historical value of the Tomb of King Muryeong and gain global sympathy of people all over the world through literature reviews. As a second step, this study examined the current state that traditional Korean elements were used as a fashion cultural products. As a third step, this study analyzed the current state and problems of fashion cultural products using relics from the Tomb of King Muryeong through field survey. As a final step, this study planned the concept of design with the use of diadem ornaments, earring, sword, stone guardian animal, and bricks with lotus-flower design from the tomb of King Muryeong. And these developed 6 textile designs could be applied to the production of various fashion cultural products.

한국 선사시대 암각화를 응용한 아동용 텍스타일 디자인 연구 (Textile Design for Children Applying Korean Prehistoric Petroglyphs)

  • This study attempts to adapt and develop Korean prehistoric petroglyphs into textile design for children. For this purpose, literature review was conducted to understand the plasticity and symbolism expressed in Korean prehistoric petroglyphs. Also this study conducted textile design development as follows: First, the figures and faces in petroglyphs were selected because children can easily recognize them. Second, two groups of different ages (7-9 and 10-13) were allowed to freely draw the selected motifs. Third, some of the motifs created by the children were selected that show children's individuality and also keep the features of the original motifs. The children's motifs were developed into textile design using Texpro and Photoshop. Then digital textile printing and 3D mapping program were used to make pajamas (5 types), umbrellas (3 types), and simulate bedding sets (2 types) for children. This research's results are as follows: First, petroglyphs are symbolic language of human's oldest art form, and related to religious and mythical belief. Korean petroglyphs have plasticity showing the development steps in technique and expression, with various shapes such as animals, human figures, faces, masks and abstract figures. Third, children showed their interests in various human figures and faces of the petroglyphs, and it was easy to draw those motifs in their own way. Fourth, 10 design motifs were selected from the children's work and used to create textiles considering materials and colors for children. Total 10 items were made and presented. This study confirmed the usefulness of applying prehistoric petroglyphs to children's textiles designs. These designs may grow as a kind of cultural product for children who know about and like petroglyphs. They can be a niche market items too, made to order for children with individuality and who favor originality.
