적층각도에 따른 CFRP 평판에서의 굽힘으로 발생한 크랙 파손에 관한 해석적 연구 (Analysis Study on the Damage of Crack Happening with the Bending at CFRP Plate due to Stacking Angle)

  • 본 논문은 탄소섬유로 구성된 평판형태의 시험편에 굽힘 모멘트가 작용할 때 내부의 섬유구조에서 발생되는 굽힘 응력과 전단응력, 변형에너지에 관한 것이다. CFRP는 무수히 많은 섬유가 다축구조를 형성하고 있어 굽힘조건에서 응력을 효과적으로 분산할 수 있다. 이때 적층각도에 따라 다양한 물성을 보이게 되는데, 섬유의 수평방향인 Stacking angle $0^{\circ}$에서부터 수직방향인 $90^{\circ}$에 이르기까지의 결과에 있어, Stacking angle이 증가함에 따라 등가 응력과 전단응력이 점차 줄어들며 $60^{\circ}$를 기점으로 다시 증가함을 보이고 있다. 본 연구결과를 토대로,적층각도에 따른 평판에서의 굽힘으로 인한 파손특성을 해석적 접근을 통해 고찰하였으며, 본연구는 파손방지와 내구성 향상을 위한 안전설계에 기여할 수 있다고 사료된다. 또한 평판 형상으로서의 디자인적 요소를 융합기술에 접목함으로서 그 미적인 감각을 나타낼 수 있다.

  • 본 논문은 탄소섬유로 구성된 아치형태의 시험편에 인장각도가 작용할 때 내부의 섬유구조에서 발생되는 등가응력과 변형량에 관한 것이다. CFRP는 무수히 많은 각 섬유가 하나의 축으로 작용하며 이를 통해 금속과 비교할 때 높은 비강도와 비강성을 가질 수 있다. 본 연구에서 사전연구에 의해 최적 적층각도는 $60^{\circ}$로 구성된 아치형 구조에서 반경에 따른 응력분포를 결과를 검토하며 같은 적층각도에서 그 반경이 증가할수록 내구성이 낮아짐을 알 수 있다. 이를 통해 본 연구 결과를 적층 각도에 따른 아치형 구조의 설계에 적용함으로써, 파손방지와 내구성 향상을 위한 안전설계에 기여할 수 있으며, 패드 형상의 디자인적인 요소를 융합기술에 접목하여 그 미적인 감각을 나타낼 수 있다.

  • 탄소섬유의 성능은 탄소 섬유 강화 플라스틱(CFRP)과 같은 고품질 고분자 복합재료에 매우 중요하다. 이를 위해 탄소섬유 물성에 큰 영향을 주는 전구체 섬유의 기계적, 물리적, 구조적 특성을 개선할 수 있는 최적화된 방사공정과 이를 위한 적합한 전구체 공중합 고분자를 사용하는 것은 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 메타크릴산(MAA)의 함량과 주입시간, 2,2'-아조비스(2-메틸프로피오니트릴) (AIBN)의 농도를 합성공정 변수로 설정하였으며, 용액 중합법(solution polymerization)에 의해 Poly(AN-co-MAA)가 합성되었다. 305,138 g/mol의 분자량과 4.2%의 MAA 비율을 가지는 Poly(AN-co-MAA)를 N,N-디메틸포름아미드(DMF)에 16.0 wt% 농도로 용해시킨 후 기격습식방사법(dry-jet-wet spinning)으로 전구체 섬유를 제조하였다. 섬유의 인장강도는 ~1.06 GPa, 인장탄성률은 ~22.01 GPa였으며, 섬유에서의 공극 및 구조적 결함은 관찰되지 않았다.

CF/Epoxy적층판의 충격손상거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Impact Damage Behavior of CF/Epoxy Composite Laminates)

  • In this paper, static and fatigue bending strengths and failure mechanisms of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastics) laminates having impact damages have been evaluated. Composite laminates used for this experiment are CF/EPOXY orthotropy laminated plates, which have two-interfaces $[0^0_ 4/90^0_4]_{ sym}$. A steel ball launched by the air gun collides against CFRP laminates to generate impact damages. The damage growth during bending fatigue test is observed by the scanning acoustic microscope (SAM) and also, the fracture surfaces were observed by using the SEM (scanning electron microscope). In the case of impacted-side compression, fracture is propagated from the transverse crack generated near impact point. On the other hand, fracture is developed toward the impact point from the edge of interface-B delamination in the case of impacted-side tension. Eventually, failure mechanisms have been confirmed based on the observed delamination areas and fracture surfaces.

원공조치를 가진 탄소섬유강화 플라스틱 적층판의 피로수명에측 (Fatigue Life Prediction of Circular Notched CFRP Laminates)

  • Fatigue life prediction and fatigue behavior of circular notched carbon fiber reinforced plastic laminates are presented. Point and average stress criteria by Whitney and Nuismer are generalized to fatigue fracture criteria for notched laminates. Residual strength degradation model and the assumptions on the stress redistribution are introduced during the derivation of prediction equations. S-N curve, Basquin's relation, and H and H's FLPE1 are chosen for evaluation of residual strength of unnotched laminates and six prediction equations are derived. Experiments are performed using Graphite/Epoxy laminates whose fiber orientation is $[0$^\circ$/+45$^\circ$/-45$^\circ$/90$^\circ$]s. Presented prediction equations are reasonably close to experimental data and proposed appoach is found to be suitable to predict fatigue life of notched composite laminates.

  • In this paper, static and fatigue bending strengths of CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastic laminates having impact damage(FOD) are evaluated. When the impacted side is compressed, the residual fatigue bending strength of CF/PEEK specimen P is greater that that of CF/EPOXY SPECIMEN B. In the case of impacted-side compression, fracture is proposed from the transverse crack generated near impact point. On the other hand, fracture is developed toward the impact point from the edge of interface-b delamination in the case of impacted-side tension.

CFRP 복합재 튜브의 압괴메카니즘에 관한 실험적 연구 (The Experimental Study on the Collapse Mechanism of CFRP Composite Tubes)

  • This paper is to investigate collapse mechanisms of CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics)composite tubes and to evaluate collapse characteristics on the change of interlaiminar number and ply orientation angle of outer under static and impact axial compression loads. When a CFRP composite tube is crushed, static/impact energy is consumed by friction between the loading plate and the splayed fronds of the tube, by fracture of the fibers, matrix and their interface. These are associated with the energy absorption capability. In general, CFRP tube with 6 interlaminar number(C-type), absorbed more energy than other tubes(A, B, D-types). The maximum collapse load seemed to increase as the interlaminar number of such tubes increases. The collapse mode depended upon orientation angle of outer of CFRP tubes and loading status(static/impact). Typical collapse modes of CFRP tubes are wedge collapse mode, splaying collapse mode and fragmentation collapse mode. The wedge collapse mode was shown in case of CFRP tubes with 0° orientation angle of outer under static and impact loadings. The splaying collapse mode was shown in only case of CFRP tubes with 90°orientation angle of outer under static loadings, however in Impact tests those were collapsed in fragmentation mode .

경량 복합재 차체 구조의 역설계를 통한 복합재료 라미나 물성 산출 기법 연구 (A Study on Calculation of Composites Lamina Material Properties through Reverse Engineering of Light Weight Composite Car-body)

  • In reverse engineering, one of the main tasks is reconstructing the mechanical properties of used materials. For an isotropic material, it could be defined by a single tensile test using a coupon extracted from the structure. In contrast, CFRP composites require many tests and complex procedures to define all the material properties because CFRP is an orthotropic material and a stacked laminate. In this paper, the procedure to reconstruct composite material properties is studied by using the classical lamination theory and the test data of three different laminates from a composite structure. A sample reconstruction of composite material properties using a composite car body is introduced to verify the method.

수지함량에 따른 CFRP 적층판의 층간파괴 인성평가 (Evaluation of Fracture Toughness of Dynamic Interlaminar for CFRP Laminate Plates by Resin Content)

  • This research work has been carried out for finding J-integral in mode II of CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastics) laminate plates based on the classical bar theory in dynamic conditions with consideration of the effect of inertia forces, eventually to lead to finding the dynamic inter-layer fracture toughness. Dynamic inter-layer fracture toughness was found by a self-made ENF(End Notched Flexure) experimental apparatus using Split Hopkinson's Bar(SHPB), and also observed the variation of the fracture toughness haying different resin contents and fiber arrangements of CFRP specimen([$0_3^{\circ}/90_3^{\circ}/0_6^{\circ}/90_3^{\circ}/0_3^{\circ}$], [$0_{20}^{\circ}$], [$0_5^{\circ}/90_{10}^{\circ}/0_5^{\circ}$]). As an experimental result, in either cases of quasi-static or dynamic load condition, the critical load and the inter-layer fracture toughness increased sharply depending on the increase of resin contents. Therefore, it could, be concluded that the effect by resin contents is the major factor determining the inter-layer fracture toughness in the CFRP laminate plates.

CFRP 박육부재의 적층조건이 충격압궤특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Stacking Sequence Conditions on the Characteristics of Impact Collapse using CFRP Thin-Wall Structures)

  • Because of the inherent flexibility in their design for improved material properties, composites have wide applications in aerospace vehicles and automobiles. The purpose of this study is to investigate the energy absorption characteristics of CFRP( Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics); tubes on static and impact tests. Static compression tests have been carried out using the static testing machine(Shin-gang buckling testing machine)and impact compression tests have been carried out using the vertival crushing testing machine. When such tubes were subjected to crushing loads, the response is complex and depends on the interaction between the different mechanisms that control the crushing process. The collapse characteristics and energy absorption were examined. Trigger and interlaminar number affect energy absorption capability of CFRP tubes.
